The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The size shifter nodded his head a smile still plastered on his face, ”Guess you could say that, we defiantly watched each others back for a bit didn’t we?” Bacchus said nodding his head once again she did happen to watch his back during the shoot out and then after he might have watched her back at some point. ”Here I thought you would have been glad someone was looking out for me in a foreign country.”
Shrugging slightly Bacchus continued to play coy as he gave Lena another quick glance and turned to the nearest cage, which held a slightly enlarged black widow. Pretending he had more pressing matters to attend to he adjusted the light above the mesh wiring of the cage and then shifted his gaze back to Isabel who seemed more and more irritated with the situation.
Shrugging his shoulders once again and with a loud sigh Bacchus lifted a large hand, ”Do you really want introductions or you here for something else?” Bacchus asked shifting his gaze to Lena this time that was only there to cause trouble. Trouble was something Bacchus liked but this trouble could be labeled more as drama and drama was something he never liked to handle.

Oh. Oh, that was so it. If he though she wouldn't understand that little innuendo he threw out he was dead wrong. Her patience was just about worn thin and her temper was spiking dangerously. She was going to have a few nice, finger-shaped bruises on her arms by the next day with how hard her digits were digging into her arms as she tried to keep herself in check. "Right about now I'm really wishing someone had knocked some sense into your thick skull over there."
She had to bite her tongue in order not to start yelling when he had the nerve to turn his back on her to play with one of his nasty spiders, her hands splaying against her arms to avoid potentially splitting her skin with her nails. It really was amazing how stupid he was sometimes. Just goes to show how much he thought of himself and his stupid skin. If she'd been able to split it easily he'd have been so dead by now. So, so dead.
Still, she figured it was about time to stop trying to beat around the bush and get him to own up to anything outright. He wanted her to cut to the case herself? Fine. But she wanted to take care of a few things first.
With a huff she hurriedly approached the computers, grabbed up a chair, and made her way over to where the Giant was, swinging the chair up over her head and back down again, aiming to bring it down on top of the cage and smoosh the disgusting creepy crawly inside of it.
"Stop being an asshole!" she screamed, letting the chair drop wherever it may, no longer concerned over his little experiments at the moment. They could be left for later. She'd go ahead and smash all his other insects if and when the mood struck her. "I know you're thick, but stop playing dumber than you already are! You know exactly what I'm pissed about!"
And then she pulled back her fist and aimed to break his nose.

Oh, finally. Isabel made her move. Lenna left it to her. Bacchus deserved it. If Isabel hadn't taken charge and told him the score, she'd have clued him in. Her words wouldn't have been as reasonable. They'd have been harsher. Brutal. The absolute truth. Bacchus would have felt more emasculated than humanly possible. She'd have knocked his ego so far down, he would have thought her aura was negating it.
Hopefully, hopefully, he DID NOT get the clue. In retrospect, telling him all his faults and letting him know how big an idiot he was and how big a mistake sleeping with him had been sounded kind of fun. Those were things he really needed to know.

He knew she knew at this point he would have had to be as stupid as everyone thought he was but he wasn’t no, Bacchus wasn’t simple he just acted like it because it was easier in a lot of ways. In particular it was easier to irritate people and Isabel seemed to be getting targeted. ”That was a little unnecessary…” The giant said to the bone manipulators reaction to him playing stupid. Shame to, that spider was dealing with the size change far better than the others had been, even if only seven of it’s legs had worked. Resisting the urge to laugh Bacchus simply stated, ”Isabel Smash.”
The fist was cocked and she was yelling, yeah he knew why she was so upset but it was before they were officially seeing each other so Bacchus didn’t really understand why she was throwing a temper tantrum. However he had lived with girls for a few years now. Three he liked back home and now all of ‘em in the mansion so he knew what to do and what to say when a woman was pissed, even if he often chose not to act on it. Lena was off a ways and he was now aware that she could dull his powers so he didn’t even try to make his skin as tough as he could make it, no he let the fist fly and connect with his nose and he felt the skin and nerves that reacted to the blow.
Backing up and holding is nose Bacchus cringed his nose and wiped it a few times to make sure it wasn’t bleeding no swollen maybe but bleeding? He was alright for the most part he even showed Isabel that the punch did some damage to hopefully dull her anger and frustrations. He didn’t let just anyone actually inflict pain and get away with it but Isabel she was different.
”Forgot what a lil’ hell cat you can be when your angry.” He grinned, and wiped his thumb across his nose and sniffed standing up straight. ”I got a feeling it had to do with what happened after the bar fight,” he paused and his face grew serious. ”Gave it a go didn’t we?” Bacchus asked shrugging his shoulders like it was something that happened on a regular basis. It was a subject however he handled casually.

Damn right 'Isabel Smash'. She'd have smashed more, too, if he hadn't been such an inviting target. She still might. She was sure there were plenty more cages with more gross insects crawling around inside them that she could destroy. The other animals were lucky she tended to like their kind. Bacchus, at this moment in time, wasn't so lucky as them.
The fact that she'd actually managed to get somewhere by shoving her fist in his face surprised her a bit. She'd seen him get hit with a lot more force without blinking in the past, and a simple shot to the nose had caused him to step back? Something wasn't quite right there.
However, she wasn't going to let on that it unnerved her a bit. She was still beyond angry, and getting angrier every time he opened his stupid mouth and let the idiocy dribble out. And that stupid grin. It wasn't funny! She was ready to tear his face off and he was just grinning at her and teasing.
"You stupid ass!" she spat, her fingers curling into the fabric of her shirt so she'd hold off on scratching out his eyes for the time being. Hell-cat indeed. "It's not a joke! You're not funny!" She gave the chair she'd dropped a kick. Just because she could. "I don't see why I shouldn't be mad! And I'm having a really hard time finding a reason why shouldn't remove something important of yours!"
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Lenna waited, just waited, for Bane to realize he needed to make better moves. She kept silent, watching the whole scene play out.
Bane was an idiot. She'd been right on the money when she'd first met him, thinking he was simple. Easy to manipulate. All that negative baggage. What Isabel saw in him, Lenna couldn't fathom. He was really pissing the girl off.

The giant waited for a moment and kept his mouth shut, he didn’t really see the point in speaking when she was ranting. Yes, he had slept with Lena but it was a little before he and Isabel had been ‘seeing’ each other didn’t mean he wasn’t flirting with her it just meant nothing was going the way he wanted it to go with her. Not like it was when he got back and before he went to prison. Granted it wasn’t the best but he wasn’t one to complain.
Nose still stinging slightly he averted his gaze momentarily knowing if he did say anything it was only going to be used against him. Suddenly Bacchus recalled the officers that read his Miranda rights before they locked him up and he was tempted to laugh but didn’t. He kept his gaze fixed on Isabel and he sighed and scratched the back of his head wondering how to handle things.
”It was something in the past…” Bacchus said hoping he could somehow rationalize his positioning, ”One night stand, wasn’t it?” Bacchus asked scratching the back of his head again this time looking in Lena’s direction, ”No offense but it didn’t really mean much did it?”
He didn’t have any feelings towards Lena, even less now knowing that she was the one that tipped Isabel off. ”Didn’t think it was all that important, it was before you and me really hit it off.” the giant explained.

Bane's little excuses really weren't helping him dig himself out of the hole he was already in. Then again, there probably wasn't much he could say at all that would put him back in Isabel's good graces at that point in time. She was much too angry and he was much too self-assured. They both thought they were in the right, and as such the argument probably wouldn't go anywhere constructively.
She almost wished he'd start shouting back. If nothing else, it'd give her a good enough excuse to stick him with a spine or two. As it was she was fighting back the urge to do just that, shouting or not, but a little fight would have made it more fun. Oh well.
For the time being she settled for glaring murderously at him when he offered his feeble explanations. One night stand, or something longer, it didn't matter to her. She'd have been pissed either way. "You're the one that always insisted that it was a date whenever we went anywhere together. You were pretty quick to change your mind for someone who was so damn insistent on that fact."
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
>>”One night stand, wasn’t it?” "No offense but it didn’t really mean much did it?”
She let him dig his grave, only chiming in after Isabel's comment. "What we had was meaningless, pointless, and trivial. I used you. It's your own fault you were so easily used."

Bacchus looked down on Isabel and blinked when she yelled at him again, ”Right,” Bacchus said nodding his head, ”And you were always the one who told me it wasn’t a date, so it balanced it out, didn’t it?” the giant shifter asked as he shrugged his shoulders still not understanding fully why she was so upset. If Bacchus really considered her his girlfriend things probably would have gone differently, however she was still playing hard to get and at the time Bacchus was just looking for a little fun.
”See?” Bacchus said gesturing towards Lena, ”Meaningless!” repeating the word she used seconds before. The question now was how long was Isabel going to be mad at him, and where do they go from here? Bacchus was never really good with the whole commitment thing now that he thought about it, a trait he figured he picked up on from his mother. Alcoholism from the father and commitment issues from the mother put it together and you got the self-sabotaging narcissistic giant who has a hatred for lying leprechauns.
”Hmmmm…. Your really upset about this aren’t you?” Bacchus said not really sure how to respond seriously to the situation, instead he tried to make light of the situation, ”You are awfully cute when your upset…” A few of the animals in the background made a few clicking sounds or chirps to his comment as if they were laughing at what was to come.

Balanced out? Was he kidding? It most certainly did not balance out. Stupid Giant. "I'm not the one that was running around with other people. Trying to insist you're dating someone than going after someone else doesn't make a whole lot of sense. And it doesn't create any sort of balance," she spat back. He wasn't going to be persuading her with his flawed logic.
She almost pointed out that he'd missed the entire point of what Lenna had said, but she didn't feel like expending the effort it would take to try and explain it to him. Not like he'd care about being used in such a way anyhow.
Damn right she was angry. And he'd better hope that was a rhetorical question. But just in case he expected some kind of answer, she gave him one in the form of another murderous glare. A mocking question about him being stupid almost got out of her, but playing his game would only encourage him to continue joking about the whole thing.
And then there was the last straw. Cute! She positively bristled at the word. Cute?! She'd give him cute! Her hand fisted again as her body went rigid in anger. From each of her knuckles a barbed little spike protruded from the skin. He thought it was pretty funny the first time she hit him, how about if she really wanted to do some damage?
She aimed for his face again, though this time she didn't particularly care where she hit him, so long as her fist made contact somewhere.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Lenna turned, briskly, rolled her eyes, and said "I'll leave you two kids to settle things yourselves." Right as Isabel started wailing on the giant. With that, she wandered out the door with an over the shoulder wave.
They were (possibly?) a cute couple. If she really got the severity of what that even meant. Relationships were still a bit of a complicated mess to the once-bodyguard, once-assassin. Love, more a philosophical question than an easily-defined truth. Love got people hurt. Everything going on over her shoulder could serve as an example. Yet people had connections. And one person's definition of a 'relationship' might not pass when tested against another. The whole line of thought was inconclusive, Lenna decided, as she wandered out the door. With her went her adapted aura. As a matter of fact.

Clearly that wasn’t the answer the bon manipulator was looking for, her temper flared once again and it was almost possible to see the steam exiting her ears. If he kept it up her head might explode. Bacchus trying not to grin much more than he already was attempting not to cross the line again, he was on thin ice and jumping up and down on it wasn’t going to help much. ”Like I said-“ Bacchus tried to speak but held his tongue till Isabel was done yelling at him, a feat he wouldn’t able to handle for most seeing as he can get far louder than she could without much effort. Bacchus always won the shouting match, a fact he was always proud of but as of now he remained silent.
More steam exited her ears while Lena was announcing that she was leaving to let the giant and bonemancer handle their own affairs, ”Thanks! I’ll be sure to repay this real soon!” Bacchus said with revenge of some kind on his mind. He didn’t’ really care at this point how Isabel took the comment because as Lena was leaving Isabel seemed ready to throw another punch this time it was one Bacchus wasn’t exactly read for.
The fist made contact, which meant the bones she had created pierced his skin. Luckily he managed to tilt his head up slightly before the impact. Looking down at his chest, little dots of red started to seep through to his light colored shirt. ”Feel better?” Bacchus asked wincing slightly and placing his hand on Isabel’s and gently removed her fist from his chest. The door was now shut and they were alone in the room. ”… S-orry…” Bacchus struggling with the word seeing as it wasn’t a word he used often if not ever.

Isabel hardly heard what Lenna said or noticed when she'd left the makeshift laboratory. She was too busy seeing red. And trying to yank her hand out from under the Giant's. At least she'd managed to hit him. It was just a shame she'd missed his face. He's have looked better with some nice gouges in his cheek, maybe a missing eye.
She took more than a little pride in the fact that she'd actually managed to injure him, quickly getting over her earlier uneasiness at such a notion. She could feel blood welling up under her knuckles as it made its way around the little bone spikes and soaked into his shirt. It may not have bee a big injury, but it was better than nothing.
As for feeling better? "No," she replied, yanking at her hand again in hopes that he wouldn't hold onto her fist. She could hit him again more easily that way. "I haven't maimed you yet,"she elaborated, continuing to glare at him. All the chittering in the background from his various little experiments didn't help the situation. It was only egging her on in a way.
"You are not!" she shot back, giving another huff and debating what she could smash next. Maybe she'd just open a bunch of cages and let him deal with the aggravation of having to gather his pets up again. And then smash stuff. "You're only saying you're sorry because you're in trouble for it!"

When Isabel gave her arm a yank the giant stared at her for a second debating if he should have held on to it, He let go when she said no and then she continued to glare at him. He sighed slightly and placed his hand on his chest where she had pierced and then removed it to take a quick look at the palm of his hand, which was now covered, in a few red dots of blood. If he didn’t activate his mutation things could have gotten far uglier, even though he doubted she would have tried to kill him.
Isabel acted tough but it was clear by the way she was acting how she really felt, the face of the cop killer that everyone outside of the Sanctuary was used to was lost on Bacchus, he knew her for what she was. Bacchus winced slightly and then shook his slightly enlarged hand and then looked back to the critters that let out a few chirps,”Ohi! Keep it down! Mom and Dad are having a talk!” he doubted his timing for the joke was appropriate in fact he knew it was bad timing but it didn’t stop him from saying it. If his guard was down he was sure she would have punctured him a few more times.
She tried to correct him and explain how she thought he felt, she was sort of right but there was more to his apology than let his mouth before he paused and she spoke. Nodding his head he agreed, ”I was going to say I was sorry you found out like this…” Bacchus paused and shrugged his shoulders, ”I didn’t really think we were dating before that, not an excuse I know but…” Bacchus sighed and shrugged, ”If it’s any consolation she was the only one, didn’t really think much of it.”
His chest leaked out onto his shirt turning the immediate area red a fact he was mostly oblivious to for the moment, ”Sides, if it was anyone else yelling at me or trying to stick me ‘m pretty sure we both know that this,” he gestured to her then himself, ”Wouldn’t be happening.” he looked down to his chest now and then lowered his eyebrows impressed she managed to get that deep of a stab before his mutation kicked in.
