The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A few seconds passed by and Carrick moved yet again to sitting on the roof to entering the building through a nearby window that was left open no doubt left open for quick get always or entrances for the bee guy that the officer was now telling to holster the stinger which from the looks of it was dripping with something.
Wings now folded behind him once again Carrick walked on the catwalk above and watched the scene unfold. The smell of sweet honey was thick in the air as Carrick’s stomach growled slightly. Really? He just ate all that food at Jorge’s place there was no reason he should still be hungry. Tail twitching behind him like he was read to pounce Carrick lowered his body and walked closer to the pair under him as quietly as possible.
Carrick smirked as he looked down on the two and the bee man kept his level in the air telling Jorge he was out of his league. It was funny to him a giant insect was claiming he was better than something else. If there was one thing he knew it was wings and he knew wings didn’t have an exoskeleton, which meant that if Jorge shot at the wings the bumblebee man wouldn’t be able to fly, which also meant he would be put at a disadvantage.
Not sure if Jorge was aware of the bumblebees weakness Carrick looked to his left and silently picked up a large (and very heavy wrench) that was laying around. Again Carrick smirked, it was almost like a sign from god telling his little winged angle that it was a divine would to repay Jorge for all the food he ate. Carrick blinked and waited for a second before he decided to make his move. He would only have one shot after all and if he missed, things could get ugly quick.
Breathing and jumping into the air Carrick leapt over the railing brandishing the large wrench and called out, ”For Asgard!” Something his older brother always called out whenever he was throwing a pile drive. Wings opening and the wrench on the correct path to the intended target Carrick yelled out and swung at the Bee’s wings.

Jorge
Now…when Jorge said that he had a trick or two up his sleeve, he was not referring to an Irish, winged mutant who now leapt down from the rafters. A string of explicatives flew from Jorge’s mouth as he immediately lowered his gun and held up his hand to stop Carry. The last thing he needed was the inexperienced kid trying to play hero and throwing himself into harm’s way. But just as Jorge stepped forward, he saw that heavy, blunt object of iron flew outward from the kid. It was wrench…and one that was aimed sharp and true.
“Grahhhh!” Bumblebee snarled as that tool tore through the translucent material of one of his wings and immediately sent him plummeting to the ground. He snarled as he glared between the two of them and stood up. “You two…you two are so going to pat for that!”
Jorge immediately ran up, gun raised high again, aimed directly for any soft spots he could see on the mutant in front of them.
“That’s it Bumbles! Hands up!” he screamed as he kept his gun trained. A soft buzzing flew by his ear but he barely winced. But then he felt something small, like a pellet bump near his cheek, followed by another and another, all followed by more and more buzzing. “What the hell?”
The Bumblebee grinned with his mandibles and lowered his hands as the detective became distracted. Little black dots began to bump and nudged Jorge over and over again before he finally realized what they were…bees. Black and yellow striped insects buzzed dangerously as a cloud of them thickened around the detective. Sting, sting, sting that was all those little bombers were ordered to do by their large master. Again and again they buzzed, dove and stung, as Jorge tried to bat them away, but even though the cloud of insects, Jorge raised his gun at the mutant and fired as quickly as he could before he started to run. The bullet knocked Bumbles back an inch, but not enough to do harm. Instead the bullet
“Carry! Get out of here!”
Bumbles only smirked as he turned to face the winged boy. “You will pay for what you did!” he grunted and groaned as he reached over and ripped off his damaged wing.
Another grunt and another transparent wing inched out of nub that had housed his former wing. Bumbles flexed it expertly before it started to beat fast and he lifted off into the air. His stinger extended out and another cloud of bees surrounded him. With one hand raised he pointed towards the boy.
“Make him into a pincushion!”
To which the bees immediately responded and flew for the boy.
Jorge on the other hand swatted at the mass of bees with his trench coat. As soon as they began to clear, many going to join their brethren to attack Carry, Jorge cursed as he holstered his gun, forced his eyes closed and snagged that water that surged around them. He concentrated hard since the water was on the fringes of his area of control but he managed to pull some to their aide. Finally he shot out both hands and screamed at Carry.
“Kid, get down!!” he yelled as torrent of water flew over his head and flew directly for the mass of bees that chased Carry.
The winged warrior from above grinned as the ground was fast approaching. The wrench hit the ground first with a clack of iron on concrete then the thud of Carrick’s feet landing softly due to his wings slowing his descent. Yeah the wrench was heavy and if he wasn’t sure that the snarl meant that it just began Carrick would have dropped the heavy wrench to the ground figuring the fight was over but it never turned out this easy and before he could look up he heard Jorge’s warning and due to a familiar reaction of running when his father told him to do so he dropped the wrench and jumped into the air already avoiding the bees that the bad guy had sent after him.
The sound of buzzing echoed in the warehouse and or a brief second Carrick thought he was losing his mind as the echoing got louder that was when he felt a sharp pain in his arm and then he was brought back. Mind sharp now he blinked and flapped his wings harder and faster moving away from the small army of bees that had attempted to surround him. Tail and wings shifting and turning Carrick’s heart beat quickened as the adrenaline in his body began to pick up. If it wasn’t for the bee sting hurting and if he were sure they wouldn’t kill him if they had the chance he’d think this was one intense game. However he had to keep moving fear gripped him and he had to keep moving away from the bees away from everything. It was fight or flight and all he could do was fly, he wasn’t a fighter and there wasn’t much he could do in a situation like this. If he could shift… he’d have claws but what would they do against the small army of bees?
”Coddle! Coddle! Coddle!” Carrick cursed before he heard another command from Jorge the police officer who stole his hat and the one Carrick had tried to help out only to have it backfire on him. Doing as he was told Carrick dropped down to the ground and covered his head in his wings and prayed for something to stop the bees.
The sound of rushing water sounded and as Carrick looked up through a small hole in his winged barrier his face was showered with a few droplets of water while a large mass converged where he was seconds before. The bees were surrounded by water and the bad guy let out a scream in pain as if he was the one being attacked.
“Your dead!” cried out the bumblebee man as he shifted his attention back to Jorge.
Before the bumblebee man launched forward with his new set of wings he stopped momentarily as a loud eagle screech echoed in the warehouse drowning out the buzzing sound of the hive and remainder of bees that managed to escape the pool of water that Jorge conjured to help out.
Carrick’s feet slammed into the ground as his wings and tail stretched outright and his fingernails slammed into the concrete. Another screech echoed and then he felt a shooting pain throughout his body as if every cell in his body was about to breakdown and reconfigure. This was one of the only reasons he hated to shift but he knew it only last a few seconds and the results would help save not only him but Jorge as well. His nose was the first to change as his body continued to grow. Starting to hook till a beak formed Carrick let out another screech as his fingernails sharpened into talons and dug into the concrete till the rest of his body started into the shift.
Seconds passed then half a minute and he was fully shifted fur covered the base of his body. Paws for back legs Carrick turned quickly and let out another screech to keep the bee mans attention on him, while the remains of all his clothing and shoes laid out in bits and pieces at his paws and talons.

Jorge
Jorge was stunned. That was the only way to describe it. As he held his hands up, he tried to keep the murderous bees sloshed about in a torrent of the manipulated water. The insects seemed to be taken care of but his attacking of the bees also seemed to cause an adverse reaction to Bumbles. The were-bee snarled in pain and agony as, Jorge guessed, he felt his offspring dying in the surge of water. To be honest Jorge did not care. At least that pulled the attention back onto him and away from the foolish kid who decided to jump into the scene. He would make sure to make Carry pay for that later.
>> ”You’re dead!”
Jorge stood strong, his arms held out as he manipulated the water back towards him. It splashed magnificently to the ground and swirled around him in a deadly manner. It’s breakneck fast speed spun protectively at his feet as he glared at the oncoming Bumblebee Man. Jorge holstered his gun once more when he realized that it would be of no help. His last bullet bounced helplessly off the man’s exoskeleton.
That only meant he would have to rely on water and sheer skill.
The bravado needed to keep the attention on him, the detective winked and gave him a cocky grin in return. He held up his hand and waved him over.
“Come on you overgrown Honeybee. Let’s see what you can-?”
But before he could finish, he shot a glance at Carry to make sure that he was okay when he saw a strange sight. He knew that the kid’s wings were real but…he was shifting now? For a second he was unsure what to expect. All he saw were parts of the kid growing and forcing themselves into new and more powerful looking shapes. Apparent the shock was evident on Jorge’s face as he turned to see Bumbles had also turned his attention on the kid.
When it was done, Jorge could only look at him in complete and utter shock. He was he really just staring at a gryphon? Something he last saw in an old Ray Harryhausen movie? Jorge had to smirk as he shook his head. Some people always surprised you. But that moment cost Jorge as he heard a shout and turned just in time to see Bumble’s flying fast towards him, stinger pointed directly for the detective’s chest.
Carrick was in his fully shifted form now and the tides like Jorge seemed to have control over were in his favor as far as he was concerned. Bullets couldn’t pierce the exoskeleton of the bumblebee man but his claws, well if he couldn’t pierce through that he’d just cut his wings again and once he was down Carrick would find a place to pierce or at least a way to render him useless. Carrick let out a screech and jumped up into the air as the needle like tip of the bee man’s stinger was aimed at Jorge. Before he went in for the kill however Carrick’s massive wings and more powerful body brought him upon the bee man before he could attack. The first thing to connect was Carrick’s right talon to the bee man’s wings again.
He knew if his wings would be attacked he would have gone for blood but seeing as the stinger on the man’s but could have easily went right through Jorge Carrick figured anything was fair game. If not he would have had to find a new place to sneak in to steal some food and a few z’s on a couch.
The bumblebee man fell with another scream of pain and landed on the ground and cursed at Carrick who was currently circling overhead waiting for him to do something. As long Jorge had a hold of most of the bees Carrick didn’t have to focus on an airborne threat unless the bee man sprawled out on the floor had another ace up his sleeve.
Circling his target once then twice Carrick waited for a second before he dove to attack his prey, razor talons extended and powerful hind legs ready to pounce Carrick was ready for a scrap if it meant keeping Jorge alive.

Jorge
That is what Jorge got for not paying attention and taking his eyes off the prep. Within second he watched as Bumbles flew directly for him, stinger out and dripping with poison, aimed directly for his chest. There was little time for the detective to maneuver out of the way. He was sure that he was going to be a goner, but then, he heard the flapping of wings and sound of claws raking against an exoskeleton as they rend wings from back.
He stumbled back just as Carry, now a living, breathing gryphon flew directly for the were-bee and lashed out. Wings were ripped and broken again and in a crash and scream, Bumbles fell from the air and withered in agony on the ground. Jorge looked up and watched as the gryphon-Carry circled and eyed the Bee-mutant. A smirk plastered on Jorge’s face at the assist, he would have to make sure he bought the kid a good meal for this…AFTER a stern reprimanding for butting in on MRC affairs first though.
The were-Bee snarled as he shakily moved onto his feet and struggled to get his wings to regrow. This time it was obviously harder but he was not going to give up. He snarled as he turned his attention on the gryphon once more and pointed out to summon more bee’s on the attack. The detective watched as Carry drove and struck again, this time hitting hard enough to distract the mutant more. That was all he needed.
“Yo Bumbles!” he shouted.
Once he got the mutants attention, Jorge said nothing more and instead ground his teeth and lashed out with both his hands. The torrent of water he had used to drown the bees earlier sprang to life and surged forward now. It roared as it clashed against Bumble’s head, wrapped around and formed a surging globe of water. Bumbles panicked as he wanted to fly but still his wings had not regrown. He flailed as he attempted to run, his precious oxygen cut off, but Jorge would not relent. That globe of water stayed around the Mutant-Bee’s head, effectively drowning him on his feet. Then with a final gasp of choked breath, he collapsed.
It was only then that Jorge released his hold on the water and let it splash with a thunder clap onto the smooth floor. Exhausted he looked up at Carry and gave him a smirk before his face turned stern again. Quickly he moved over, handcuffed the Bee-man, then turned to Carry.
“Kid! You missing a few screws? What were you thinking?” he asked. Finally he just took a deep breath and paused. “Thanks for the save back there. You got some moves.”
The distraction he was placing on Mr. Bumbles seemed to work it was all the time Jorge needed to end the show with a clap of water. The bees that flew around in the air were less of a danger and more of an annoyance at this point. Carrick’s bushy tail swatted two away as they were getting to close no longer interested in harming anyone now that the were-bee no longer was in control. It still didn’t stop Carrick from swatting at one or two in the air as Jorge was cuffing the bee man.
When Jorge addressed Carrick he looked down and chirped and landed onto the ground his wings tucking closely behind him. His four legs moved him towards Jorge and the yellow and black furry man who Carrick was sure wouldn’t fit into a white and black prison jump suit due to the bulbous but with a giant stinger sticking out of it. If Carrick could laugh in this form he would have but instead he chirped once more and sat down on his rear, looking to Jorge and nodding his head once Carrick took the complement and then looked back to the bumble bee man who didn’t seem to have any apparent scratches on him.
Lifting one of his front legs and pressing once of his talons to the bee man’s skin to see if indeed his talons which had saved his butt more than once was indeed useless on this mutant. A quick move of the talon and nothing happened, slightly displeased Carrick made note that if he did indeed have another run in with this foe to attack him in the air where he was undoubtedly faster.
Looking back to Jorge and lifting his wings slightly behind his back Carrick opened his mouth and let out a small eagle squawk before lowering his wings back down all the while his tail swaying behind him. IF Jorge was as smart as Carrick had been giving him credit for then he would have figure out that Carrick couldn’t talk in this form and seeing as Carrick didn’t have any clothes left over from the shift he had no intention of changing back now. He had a half hour to kill before he would be naked and hopefully Jorge either had some clothes he could borrow or the police officer was going to repay the thief even more with a new set of clothes.

Jorge
Jorge watched curiously as the gryphon squawked at him and began to paw at the fallen were-bee with a set of very deadly claws. For a second the detective feared that the criminal’s flesh would rend, but remembered that not even his gun could pierce that exoskeleton. That point was reiterated as the Carry’s claws scratched but made not a single dent in the surface. A bit relieved the detective pulled his cell phone from his pocket and made the call to his back up on the docks that the bee had been taken down. Just as he closed his phone, he looked down to see that the thief was looking up at him curiously.
“Well? What’s wrong?” he asked. But as he noted earlier, the kid had not responded to his first statement. Maybe he simply could not talk. The detective doubted that beak was good for articulating words. “Oooh, I take it you can’t talk, can you?” he smirked. “Well it’s a definitely improvement over that smart mouth you usually fire at me.”
Jorge chuckled as a group of officers came in and with extra handcuffs and a stretcher to haul the giant bee out in. But as they came in, they immediately noticed the gryphon and drew guns. The detective was quick to get between them and Carry and explained how the gryphon had actually helped him in bringing Bumbles in. Once they were appeased with that explanation for the gryphon’s presence there, they continued to secure and haul the bee away on a stretcher. Once they were gone, Jorge sighed as he turned back to Carry.
“Listen kid, you better head out before crime scene gets here and begins to snoop around.” he paused as he looked behind and saw the tattered remains of the boy’s clothes. He sighed as he pulled off his trench coat and set it over one of the crates for the gryphon. “Put that on when you change back.” he then shook his head as he glanced back at the door. “And I guess, if you want, I can purchase some replacement clothes for you. You did save my life, after all.”
He turned and began to head out of the door. Already the sirens from the distant MRC and CSI teams were coming in quick. As he glanced outside, Bumbles was already being placed inside of a large containment van. That should at least hold the beast until they could get him into an appropriate cell.
He made another glanced into the warehouse and nodded to Carry. “Go on kid, I’ll meet up with you later.” With that he stepped outside and made for the groups of officers. As his mind flew back to Carry, he had a terrible feeling creep up his spine. He knew this would not be the last time he would see the gryphon. And because of that he would definitely make sure to change the locks on his door and windows.
It seemed for a cop who was stupid enough to rob the self-proclaimed prodigy of the thieving world it didn’t take Jorge long to figure out the downside to Carrick’s shifted form. Clothes were ripped and no talking he put two and two together and figured it out however the smart remark didn’t help Jorge much in Carrick’s opinion.
Eyeing the trench coat offered Carrick looked back to Jorge and shrugged his shoulders lifting his wings. He was going to need a new coat after this, not sure he would be thrilled with a naked thief using the coat. Not to mention how awkward flying would be if he did indeed change back to use it to fly over the city back to the mansion. Lifting his head he’d imagine the chaos it would cause and decided enough people around the mansion saw his bare arse enough so why kick up the number?
Carrick waited for a second till Jorge’s back was turned and foolishly not paying attention to the young gryphon. If Carrick was so prideful before by sneaking into Jorge’s house after he stole a hat why on earth did he think that he could get away by insulting him. A small chirp and Carrick opened his wings and stood up and turned letting one of his wings slap Jorge in the side of the head before he pulled it away and then ran toward the trench coat.
Snatching it up in his right talon Carrick flapped his powerful wings once then took off through the entrance he had come in from before this whole mess started. His mind set on his next location, Jorge’s house where he planned causing a little mischief before he headed back to the mansion.
