The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Victoria smiled at Raphael when he responded to her alterness. Although her headache was growing worse and worse, she was flattered to see that someone stayed to make sure she was alright.
As Raphael began to explain what was going on, Victoria tried her best to concentrate on what he was saying. "I suppose this just means I shouldn't try that again." She let out a chuckle followed by a shot of pain as she accepted the aspirin and water.
Just as she finished swallowing the pills, the next thing she knew, a rose was being handed to her. It was still red, but wouldn't last much longer than another day or two. Looking up to see who was handing it to her, Victoria found herself blushing as Lee's words followed the gift.
They were both being so kind to her, even though she didn't understand why. "Thank you both." She smiled weakly at them, pressing her fingertips to her temple, just waiting for the painkillers to kick. "I should have known better than to make myself vulnerable like that...I'm actually surprised that you both cared to even stay, instead of just delivering me to the Infirmary and then going about your own business." Her eyes travelled between Raphael who sat next to her bed and Lee, who stood at the foot. "That's not to say that I"m not grateful, I'm just...confused. Why are you still here?"
"Well like i said i just kinda found my way down here...trying to find my way outside. But when i saw you layin here i kinda thought my plans for the day could hold off a little bit." Lee replied to her. But Lee couldnt stop thinking why he was seeing the one of the people in this room as such a threat. Just as Lee was about to begin speaking back to Victora hes cellphone went off in his right pocket.
"Hold on I need to take this" Lee said to Victora.
After walking out the room to answer his phone. About 5 mintues later Lee walks back in the room. With his head hanging down and a look on his face as if he wasnt very pleased with the way his phone call just went he looks up at Victoria and gives her another warm smile.
"Man i just cant help but smiling when i look at you. But something just came up and I really need to go. Im so sorry I really wish i could stay with you a bit longer...but things need to get taken care of. And if you ever wanna just talk, go for aride or something call me or stop by my room...Bye beautiful." Lee says as he pulls his sunglasses out his pocket and puts them on. As he walks out he stops gives a quick glance to Ralphael then a lil wink hid behind the glasses to Victoria and walks out the room.
Raphael swapped his gaze between Victoria and Lee as he gave his response, then was interrupted by his cellphone. He watched the other man leave the room for a few minutes, and chose to keep his peace till Lee had finished, and left. Something still did not feel right to him about the other man, even despite the apparent compliments he had been given.
"My answer is the same as before. I was, and am, worried about you." He stated simply. "Nothin' more nothin' less really... I mean, would be horrible to let a new friend wake all alone, or lie helpless in a strange room after knocking herself out." He said, quirking his head to the side some. "There anything else I can do for you while you're here? I could stick 'round for awhile longer."
"You didn't have to." Victoria said sheepishly while twirling the rose stem in between her fingers. "It was my fault afterall." She looked up and smiled weakly at Raphael, long after Lee had left the room to take his phone call. She would have to personally thank him later. "But thank you for your kindness." She reached out and put her hand on top of his and gave it a light squeeze.
Victoria had never known virtual strangers to have show so much kindness towards her let alone the deeper interest that was slowly becoming apparent to her.
When Lee came and then made his departure, Victoria smiled with a nod and a blush as he called her 'beautiful'.
Victoria turned her attention back to Raphael as she smoothed her hands over her hair and tugged at her hair tie to pull it loose. The tightness of the band was making her headache worse. Watching her hands as she wrapped it around her wrist, she looked back to Raphael with almost a lost gaze. "Maybe we should get the DocProf. Tricity did send me here to talk to him...not to be one of his patients." She laughed quickly, smiling at Raphael.
He offered a slight smile, nodding back to her, watching as she twirled the rose between her fingers. "Don't be so hard on yourself." Is his comment as she blamed herself, though he smiled a little more as she reached out and squeezed his hand ever so slightly.
"Certainly... The Doc wanted to know when you woke up anyways, wait here an' rest. I'll go get 'im." He stated and pushed back from where he was sitting and was gone from her side, across the infirmary and into DocProf's office. A couple minutes later and Raphael returned with DocProf in tow, saying "See, she's awake now. Says she has a nasty headache though." He lead the way and stopped short to allow the Doctor to move past him, and take the seat he had previously vacated. He actually then proceeded to back up to, and just outside of the door, if for no other reason than to give the Doctor and his patient a bit of privacy.
"Ahh the sleeping beauty wakes." DocProf said in a quiet tone, complete with a warm smile. "How are you feeling?" He asked opening a small note pad and scratching out a couple of notes. He then set the pad down beside Victoria and moved his hands to her neck and the back of her head. "You will feel a slight warm feeling, nothing to be afraid of." His hands emitted a gentle golden light as he closed his eyes. He then gently worked the muscles of Victoria's neck with his finger-tips, his healing-abilities taking hold and easing the pain of her headache away. The golden glow faded and he opened his eyes again, drawing his hands back. "Now Miss Victoria, Raphael said you had something you needed to talk to me about?"
Victoria nodded at Raphael with a light smile. She was really starting to like his sincerity towards her, and his good looks to boot.
While he was gone to get the DocProf, Victoria looked around the room. It was an impressive infirmary; as good as any high-end hospital in the city. It must cost a fortune to run this place! she pondered to herself. It was incredible that this place was tucked away just out side of New York City and no one knew about it.
Once Raphael returned with the DocProf, a part of her didn't want him to leave as she saw him head for the door. The doctor was a good man, but she didn't want to be alone, and Raphael genuinely cared. As the doctor's hands touched Victoria's neck, she took in a breath, glancing up to catch Raphael's eyes in hopes that it would convince him to stay.
Suddenly she felt the pain drip away from her head and she turned back to look at the DocProf with wide eyes. "Uh..." she was astonished that he was able to work his powers so precisely to aleviate her pain. "Tricity sent me." She lowered her eyes to look at her hands, remembering what had just happened in the hall. "I don't have control over my powers...not like you do, at least." She rose her glassy blue eyes up to look at the DocProf. "I've spent years supressing them; now I want to know how to use them. I hate thinking that I'm a curse to myself..." Her words trailed off, remembering all the times that her powers had caused her injury or put her in a life-threatening situation. She was a danger to herself.
Raphael peeked through the door, catching Victoria's glance and took a step in, then made his way over to the foot of her bed as the Doctor spoke. "No one's abilities are a curse young lady." He said with a warm smile, after listening to her. "You have already begun learning to control them, simply by learning to supress them." He picked up the note-pad and began to make notes once again. "I take it by the way you describe your abilities now that they are automatic? Tell me, how is it you currently suppress them?" He asked, his pen tapping lightly on the pad of paper as he gave her a warm, almost grandfatherly smile.
Raphael listened quietly at the foot of the bed to the doctor and patient talking. He once again was glad that he had control of his abilities, even if one did cause him dizziness and a headache if he moved around too much. He stood quietly on, simply absorbing the pair's conversation, quiet and waiting to be spoken too; he still felt that a patient and doctor's conversation were private affairs, but did not want to abandon Victoria when, if he had read her right, did not want to be alone at the moment.
Taking in a breath when the doctor told her how well she was actually doing, Victoria seemed to have a glint return to her eyes. She had spent so many years surpressing her abilities that she had never look at it as the first step to actually being able to use them.
"I..I concentrate." Her English accent was prevelant in her words. "I concentrate rather hard." Her eyes widened as she continued to take in any information that DocProf had for her. "It's not that I take myself to be a curse really, I just...It's rather difficult for me to live moment by moment hoping that I don't break my leg the very next step I take." She let out a sigh, her eyes passing over Raphael's, her brows knitted in near worry.
"Tricity seemed to think that something in my past could have affected me." She pondered out loud with these two men listening to her every word. "I suppose that broken limbs could be a start." She let out a short breathy laugh as she looked down again. "But I haven't anything to hide." She looked up at the two men, suddenly second-guessing herself, thinking that there might be something she had forgotten; something she hid, even from herself.
Raphael smiled, simply enjoying the sound of Victoria's English accent as it became more prevalent as she spoke with the good doctor. Noting her brow folding in worry he moved around the bed, so he was opposite DocProf. Seeing no indication from the good doctor he moved a hand, a little rough, and certainly strong, though in this moment, incredibly gentle, over Victoria's; his silent attempt at comforting her without words.
DocProf listened quietly as Victoria explained herself, his pen occasionally making a note on his pad. "It is quite possible that something withing your past has triggered your current outlook of your abilities." He started, then raised a hand as Victoria began to second-guess herself. "The human mind has many safe-guards against traumatic events. I believe you when you say you have nothing to hide. And for now, let us focus on helping you learn to master your unique abilities, shall we? I will have to defer you to our house telepath for anything deeper in your psyche." He explained, slowly and quite surely, his voice calm and warm, just as his smile. "I believe you have already begun to unlock the control of your shifting ability. The concentration technique that you explained earlier is certainly a step in the right direction, though it may take refining. Fine tuning it so you perform it without having to put your mind to actively holding your ability at bay." He smiled warmly. "It may take time, but I believe you are a strong young woman, more than capable of it."
Victoria smiled and looked to Raphael briefly as he took her hand. She appreciated the support and kindness he was showing her ; she was even finding him more dashing than when she first met him.
"Thank you DocProf." Victoria looked at him with her wide blue eyes. She had a lot to think about now, and the start would be in this resident telepath. Tricity had referred to him as 'Mike' earlier. If the doctor was right, then Victoria was already well on her way to gaining control over the powers that she saw as a danger all these years.
Swinging her legs around off of the bed, and squeezing Raphael's hand to help her up, she started to smile, with a new hope that things might now turn out so badly. "Let's go find this Mike; it's the only natural step to take, right?" She looked to Raphael with a hopeful expression. "Uh, where is he?"
DocProf returned her smile, flipping his notepad closed. "That's the spirit. If you need further help, I will be here, and more than happy to do anything within my power." With that he rose up from where he was sitting. "Look after her, though I likely do not even need to tell you to, do I Raphael?" He stated with a grin, then took his leave of the pair, returning to his office.
Raphael kept his hand steady and helped Victoria up with it, though his next response was not quite as helpful. "Uhhhh...." he said with a complimentary shrug. "I would guess we wander till we find him... I know the layout of the grounds pretty well, even think I might know which room is his... but..." he shrugged again. "Sorry... only thing I can think of is to ask around, or wander aimlessly with the hope of finding him. Either way, if you would have me, I'll stick by your side till we find 'im." His hand had yet to leave her's, and at the end of his little speech he gave her's a small squeeze.
Victoria smiled at DocProf one more time before Raphael helped her stand to her feet. Keeping a light but conscious grip on his hand, she welcomed his affection.
"Come on then, Raphael." She looked to him with a brightened smile, the pain in her head subsiding dramatically. "I'm sure someone 'round here will know where he is." she returned the squeeze to his hand, her heart not wanting to let go, but knowing that they had to move on. "No time like the present, Raph."
Her spirits were lifted from the encouraging words from DocProf and the support she had been recieving from Raphael. Part of her wondered what happened to Lee, but they would stumble across him sooner or later.
Tugging at Raphael's hand as she began to head for the door, she soon let it slip away as she moved closer to the exit and used both hands to turn the handle and open the doorway to the hall.
"Well... hmm... who'd likely know where he might be?" He asked, glancing at her hand as it drifted from his. "Tricity? hmmm... That other fellow we met earlier isn't likely, nor do I think Axel is likely. I'd say we start with Tricity."
He moved past her, closer than before, though still far enough to remain in friendly distance. "I know where her room is... for certain at least. I only have an idea where Mike's is..." He started tracing the line to Tricity's room infront of him. "Unless of course you have a better idea." He smiled at her, "I'm always open to ideas." Though sometimes too open... itd been what had gotten him into cage fighting before. "So, shall we take a right and head for Tricity's room, or left and see if we can figure out which room is the mansion's resident telepath?"
"Hrm," Victoria thought out loud as she place a fingerip over her lips. Her eyes sank low as she caught sight of Raphael's hand darting about as he had before, recounting the directions. Lifting her bright blue eyes to match his, she smiled confidently. "Well, to me the logical way would be to find Tricity. Or another student we may happen upon along the way, yes?" She looked to her fast friend to agree with her but began to wander before he could say a word.
"Down the hall and to the right?" She called back to him, turning around as she walked up further. "It can't be long now, the mansion isn't that big, is it?"
((ooc: we should move to the hallway or tricity's room now))
