The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Dead serious. I'd have known if anyone was lying to me about this."
For a moment, the whole scene flashed through Mike's mind, while he was linked to Daria, giving her a glimpse of the scene... The soldiers taking aim, the general retreating with Tricity hostage, his gun pressed hard against her stomach, the soldiers suddenly firing at Mike... Then the scene was littered with flashes of blue as Mike lashed out, disarming all five of them, tossing the guards away like rag dolls, and stringing the general up in the air with his power, ready to crush him with his mind.

Mystic stone? That's so odd. Mind control. And he works for the government. This all sound's familiar...I...she trailed off as she thought of a report she had read..a document rather. She hoped she saved it.
"Yeah, I'll go to the dining room with you. And you can take a look at something with me.
Emerald appeared in the infirmary, tail wagging back and forth happily at the fact she was home. She waited for Daria and Mike to come in before she called for the doctor.
"Worry about them first, I'll be okay," Mike said, falling weakly into one of the chairs.
"Nonsense," the Doc said as he ordered one of the attendants to help Mike to a cot. He spent quite a bit of time with Daria and Emerald, purging the toxins from their bodies, more time with Emerald than with Daria, due to the gunshots. Between the two, though, he passed by Mike and looked at his hand. He did a double take.
"What in the..." he touched the wound, aghast at the visions he saw. "Clean his hand, this one is going to be more difficult," he said, moving on to Emerald, shaking his head slightly as he began purging her body of poisons and healing its wounds.
Emerald stayed in the cot she was in allowing the Doc To purge all of the chemicals within her bloodstream. This was the only Doctor she would ever allow this close to her.
The wolf girl began to feel the exhaustion of the days events take there toll on her and began attempting to blink the sleep out of her eyes. She didn't particularly want to fall asleep without seeing how her friends were doing but her body wasn't letting her.
Emerald fell into a deep sleep, trying to keep her mind clear of the nightmares of the labs.

As they removed the poisons Daria's body soon returned to normal beneath her uniform. The fur shed and fell to a pool on the bed and floor and her face returned to human except for the eyes.
Daria stretched and rolled to her side, unaware of the fact that she was fine now. She was tired and that was all that mattered.
Finally, the Doc made it back to Mike, and looked at his hand. "There's going to be a scar. The tissue is damaged enough that I can't heal it without a mark... and a noticeable one at that."
Mike nodded, laying back as the Doc worked on his hand. He hoped, PRAYED, that this mission had been worth it.
*Tricity came bursting into the infirmary, nearly knocking into one of DocProf's helpers.* "What happened?! MIKE??" *She turned to the right and saw Daria in the bed, seemingly fast asleep. She then looked to the left and saw Emerald was also asleep. Tricity turned around twice before seeing Mike who was close to the door, being the reason she missed seeing him when she came in. She quickly went to his bedside and looked him over. The Doc touched her shoulder, but she pushed it away, knowing he would try and use his mutation to help calm her. Tricity turned to him and shook her head, slightly pushing him away.* "Mike? God, what happened? I wanted you guys to keep in touch!" *She wasn't mad. More like a mother not hearing from her children after a few hours passed curfew. The DocProf touched her shoulder again, but Tricity was too involved with what Mike's answer would be, that she didn't push him away this time. She felt the immediate relaxation roll through her body from head to toe.* doc: "Sit down. You're fixin to pass out if you don't calm down!" *He shoved a chair on the back of her knees, making her sit down. Tricity looked up at the Doc.* "Are they alright???" *The DocProf nodded and went back over to Daria as she slept.* "Mike?"
"Sorry," Mike said weakly. "The knockout gas didn't turn on until after the last time we checked in. We woke up strapped to tables, and drugged all to hell... or at least I was, don't know what they did to Daria and Em."
He swooned a bit as his pain-dampening completely dropped, but he looked back up. "I taunted the guy into torturing me first... pain helped fight the drugs. But by the time I shook them off, they'd taken them somewhere else..."
He shook his head, trying to clear it. "So... yeah, that was a fun mission, we'll have to do it again sometime..."
*Tricity took his hand.* "Alright, you're definitely not doing any more missions for a while. Everytime I send you and Dar out, you come back like this! Maybe we should think of another way to get the stone or something...some less dangerous way."
He glared at her. "What, you're going to make my life boring now?" The doc gave him a dirty look at this comment. "If there's a better way, I'm all for it, but you know as well as I do that that's not going to work."
