The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hmmm. The room service cart. Tarin had definitely eaten things off of the room service cart. That, and everything else was pretty darn clear, but the actual wedding ceremony was still a blur. Tarin shrugged and took the bite that Lee offered him. All things considered, the cake was awesome. He grinned.
Now was the perfect time. Tarin set down the fork.
Into his pocket went his hand and the smallish velvet box appeared between the two of them.
After Tarin took the bite, he took the bite and set the fork down. Then he reached somewhere under the table, while smiling the entire time, before setting a velvet box on the table.
Lee's eyes stared at the box, then glanced up at Tarin, a one sided smile on her face. "What' is it?" Lee asked as she slowly reached out toward the dark blue box and pulled it toward herself.
Then Lee stopped and looked back up at Tarin. "I'll be right back," she told him as she stood up. "Just...hold that thought."
With that, Lee went into the kitchen and grabbed the smallish black wrapped box she had put there earlier. She had been planning on putting it somewhere in the dinning room, or on the table before dinner or something, but it had never made it there.
Back out to the table Lee went and set the box in front of Tarin before sitting back down, crossing her left leg over her right, and picking up the velvet box once more. Opening it, Lee just gazed at the necklace inside, her smile widening. "Wow," she breathed, looking up at Tarin again. "Thanks hon! I love it."

Everything was perfect. The dinner had been perfect, the cake had been perfect, Lee looked perfect, and the gift was perfect. Except that Lee was…pausing…everything and getting up to go to the kitchen. Tarin’s head tilted to the side and he frowned slightly, until she came back.
The smile returned to Tarin’s face as Lee placed a similar sized box on the table in front of him. She’d even wrapped his. Tarin looked at Lee a little bashfully and his right hand rose to awkwardly scratch at the back of his head. He hadn’t thought to wrap it.
Lee opened the box, though, and Tarin had to be pleased. She liked it! He’d picked it out, all by himself, and he’d liked it. ”I thought black diamonds would be more your speed.” he said, then reached out to snag his present.
The wrapping wasn’t hard to get through and when Tarin opened the box he exhaled on a deep chuckle. ”Oh Lee…that’s wicked…” he said, removing the watch from the box.
When Tarin told her what the present actually was, Lee looked down at the necklace again. It had looked cool before, and she had liked it, even if she hadn't known what the stones were. But black diamonds? Wow.
It didn't take long for Tarin to open up his own present, and Lee simply smiled. She had figured that he'd like it. It was a nicer looking watch, but at the same time, it was oh so Tarin.
But he wanted her to help him with the watch? Well, of course she would, especially since she'd been expecting him to help her with the necklace as soon as she'd seen it. So Lee reached out and took the necklace in her hands so she could put it on his left wrist. Once it was in place, she turned his arm, first one way, then the other, before grinning up at him. "It looks good on you," she told him.
Then Lee stood, taking the necklace out of the box as she moved around the corner of the table, to sit on Tarin's lap. "Alright, your turn," she said, giving him a quick kiss as she pressed the necklace into his hand before turning her head and moving her hair out of the way.

Tarin grinned and nodded at Lee’s compliment, ”Of course it looks good on me. You picked it out.” he said offhandedly. He couldn’t remember a time that Lee had gotten him something that he’d disliked, and didn’t think he’d have much luck if he tried. She had good taste, especially where he was concerned.
Lee commented that now it was his turn and when she pressed the necklace into his hand and moved her hair, Tarin grinned. Yup. His turn. Necklace first though.
Quickly placing the necklace in its proper place Tarin only fumbled with the clasp for a moment before the necklace was secure around his wife’s neck….and what a lovely neck it was.
While he had the advantage, Tarin took the opportunity to wrap his arms around Lee’s waist and haul her into his lap. The chair didn’t mind at all and his lap was definitely pleased.
”Let’s see how it looks.” he requested, grinning slightly at the view he’d get when Lee turned.
Well, yeah. Once Lee had actually found the shops where she could find the kinds of clothing and such that Tarin liked, and that really looked good on him, she'd never really had much trouble picking out which would look the best on him.
But Tarin didn't argue or complain at all about putting her necklace on her. Not that she had been expecting him to, and it really didn't take long at all for him to get it done up.
Next thing Lee knew, Tarin's arms were wrapping around her, pulling her closer to her. This is what she had been hoping for herself.
And then he asked if he could see the necklace. "You did get it for me," Lee reasoned as she shifted around on Tarin's lap slightly. "So I guess it's only fair." She waited a few moments, then asked "How does it look?"

Did it look good? Well, he’d just have to see, wouldn’t he?
Lee shifted on his lap, and Tarin grinned at the view the movement afforded him. What was he supposed to be doing again? Oh yeah, the necklace.
”It looks great, love. Really. I thought it would be perfect on you. I was right.” he said with a grin.
Lee was in close proximity, very close proximity and Tarin took advantage, pulling her even closer and leaning his head into the curve of her neck.
”So.” he said against her skin, ”We’ve finished dinner, we’ve had dessert, and we’ve exchanged presents. A perfectly normal anniversary celebration evening.” he lifted his head and grinned at his wife.
”What should we do?” an answer already in mind that she probably wouldn’t need more than one opportunity to guess.
Tarin said that it looked great, that he'd been right thinking that it would be perfect on her. Lee looked down, trying to see the necklace herself, but she couldn't see a whole lot. She'd have to take a look in a mirror later, because right then, Tarin wrapped his arms around her middle and pulled her even closer to him, his head nuzzling against her neck.
Lee wrapped her arms around Tarin as well, one hand trailing slowly up his back, only to come to rest against the back of his head, fingers slightly entwined in his hair, just as he pulled back to grin at her.
Lee smiled as well as she heard what her husband said. "It has been normal, hasn't it?" Lee asked, very happy about that fact. Too many of their special occasions got ruined, so normal was definitely something to aim for.
"Why don't we keep things on that normal path?" Lee asked, her smile growing a little more wicked as she leaned forward until she softly pressed her lips against Tarin's. At least normal for them, anyway.

”Sometimes, I think normal is okay.” Tarin said, alluding back to the fact that “normal” was usually anything but for him and Lee. This night had been really nice though., and he decided it was worth saying….and worth repeating. Was this how it was destined to be, though? Having to stay at home to make sure that a night stayed normal?
Lee’s smile changed slightly, and Tarin grinned broadly. There were advantages to having ’home dates’ for special occasions.
The normal course of things?
Tarin grinned some more and returned the kiss, not even breaking away when he stood up and started making their way to the bedroom.
