The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Calley
The little prat paused their conversation to indulge in a male moment: his azure eyes walked up and down her body. Mostly down. For a brief moment, it seemed to Maxine that the air pressed closer to her; that breath was harder to draw. A shiver went up her spine. When his eyes met hers again, it was with a... sigh.
Yeah, thanks. That’s exactly what a lady wants to hear. Her fingers tightened around the pepper spray; her smile tightened over her lips.
>> "How astute, however I'm afraid I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request."
“Wow,” she said, blinking her green eyes up at him with proper awe. “I mean, I didn’t know. So sorry to bother you. To be standing in the presence of the Verbal Scrabble champion: it’s an honor, sir. Why don’t you fetch my notebook, so I can have your autograph?”
Smile. Go ahead and call management, Brit. Go ahead, if they wouldn’t question your presence, too.
The redheads acerbic response did little to improve Zephyr's overall mien, the girl was proving to be nothing more than a waste of time and while under other circumstances he might have enjoyed exchanging such piquant palaver with the girl the elemental had other issues to address which required his attention, such as the distressed starlet still waiting back in the bedroom who was no doubt by now beginning to wonder what the problem was.
Best to bring an end to this pointless charade.
Adopting an urbane affectation Zephyr allowed an amiable smile to slip onto his features as he shifted his gaze to meet the gamines own emerald orbs and spoke in a warm tone. "Why of course, anything for a fan, especially such a charming young lady, you just wait right there."
Closing the door in the girls face and once again shifting the shell of silence the hessians dissemblance swiftly vanished and was replaced with a lightly irritated expression. Perhaps if he ran into the soubrette again he'd have time to deal with her, for now though he needed to conclude his conversation with Ms. Olos and get her final decision, hopefully the starlet had had sufficient time to consider her options and provide him with an answer by this-
An abrupt sounding 'thud' swiftly broke through his thoughts and caused the hessians gaze to dart towards the source of the sound. The irritation written across his features increased in prominence as he spotted his targets body sprawled across the beige carpet of the floor as the black biro circled her head in an almost lackadaisical manner. In what was becoming a depressingly frequent event Zephyr sighed.
'So much for a civil discussion.'
Moving towards his discarded briefcase the elemental swung the obsidian container onto the bed before deftly releasing the locks and laying out the small collection of equipment onto the quilt. 'Time for plan B.'

Calley
Maxine knew a door in the face when Maxine saw a door in the face. Maxine had unfortunate practice in this area. She smiled, and mimed a curtsy in front of the white-painted wood.
“Such a gentleman.”
She wasn’t getting that notebook back. She was getting out of here without any troubles. Could be worse.
The red head turned on her heel, and hummed a jaunty tune on her way to the elevators. The mace went back in her purse. Poe, exiting with a wiggle the same way it came in, joined her as the metal doors slid open. Down in the lobby, safe among people again, she placed an anonymous call. A mutant terrorist, in a young starlet’s room.
If she was right, she was a hero. If she was wrong, she’d just ruined a certain gentleman’s prospects for the evening. That, friends, is what we call win-win.
Police sirens wailed cheerfully as the red head sauntered outside. She touched her fingers to her lips, and blew a kiss back up at the building, trusting the sentiment to find that one special lit room among many.
The average police response time for a city the size of New York is approximately 10.3 minutes, however when one factors in certain events such as blockbuster movie screenings and the influx of VIP's that will inevitably arise, the local authorities tend to take certain measures to decrease the aforementioned time. In this particular case they managed to respond to the alleged mutant terrorist threat in an almost enviable time of 6.7 minutes.
In contrast the time it took for elemental to plant the necessary evidence and then inject Ms. Olos with a certain illicit substance took a mere 2 minutes, and even then only because she possessed rather pale and elusive veins. A further 30 seconds was then taken to remove all traces of his presences and exit the suit via the same method he used to enter it, thereby allowing the hessian to exit the hotel premises and wander idly down the nearest subway entrance just as the salient sires reached the hotel entrance.
As he got in line for a ticket the elementals thoughts began to drift; overall his assignment had been accomplished. Even though he had been somewhat rushed in the end the red heads undue call to the authorities would only be to his benefit as the police were certain to attract a great deal of attention, thus when Ms. Olos was found to have 'celebrated' her success that night by rendering herself all but comatose with a rather verboten opiate well, news would flood the city well before daybreak and the starlets career would take a most magnificent dive.
The story might even make the morning paper if the journalists were on top of their game. He could wander the city for a few hours and wait to find out, on second thought that would mean sleeping through most of the coming day and he had other things to do. It would be better to simply get off 86th street by the park and then a brief walk under the trees would see him home in a matter of minutes.
Nodding to himself and placing his hands in his pockets the hessian went to wait for the next train.
