The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Heeere we go. Gawain had no idea how he guessed so fast - or why didn't he guess Twyla being his sister or... whatever - but it fit the game just fine, so he went with the old routine once again.
"Yeah, she's my twin. Ya'll see her around here once in a while. She gets pretty annoyin' so I don't hang out with her much..." he shrugged with a small frown "Still she's my sister an' I'm only tellin' you not to hit on her for your own good. The chick's nuts. Also, she plays in the other league." he smirked "Whatever. That's all ya need to know for now. If you have questions, ask away." he made a gallant gesture at the room in general "Make yourself at home."
So, Maya was Gawain's twin sister, that was why the guy had seemed so familiar. "I think I know her." he said, chuckling a little. "I probably have an insane memory, but I think we met... Me and your sister.
Ten years or so ago, in a sandbox." Right. He didn't remember many other details, but he did remember himself as a child, playing in the sandbox with a girl that looked a lot like his room mate only... feminine and ten years younger.
They had played together practically all summer, but then as the school year began, they had lost touch.
"She can't be that terrible." he laughed, unsure as to what else to say. His youngest brother Liam also happened to be gay... Sawyer could understand, to a certain level. He didn't know Maya, at least not the older one. He couldn't really say much. "I promise I won't hit on her though." he chuckled.
So, did he have any questions...? Musing over everything he'd learned in the past hour he'd been in the room with Gawain, he couldn't help but blank out. No, he didn't have any questions. "Hey, mind if I go take a bit of fresh air or something?" he asked, suddenly wanting to be alone.
>>"I think I know her. I probably have an insane memory, but I think we met... Me and your sister. Ten years or so ago, in a sandbox."
Gawain looked at Sawyer longer this time, tilting his head. Did he look familiar? He shouldn't, or at least he couldn't act like he knew Speedy, because it was Maya's memory, not his. But on the inside... yeah, he looked familiar. Ten years ago, in a sandbox... Mirror had good memory.
Gawain almost grinned, but he decided to shrug instead, and pick up the lie where she'd left off.
"Dunno, she never talked 'bout you." he smirked "But she did like making sand castles. I was usually with my Dad, so... whatever. Ya'll know when you meet."
>>"Hey, mind if I go take a bit of fresh air or something?"
"Nah, go ahead" the mirrorwalker nodded "Do whatever you like. Just remember the rules." lying back down on his bed, he waved to Speedy "Have fun."
For some reason his roommate was looking at him longer than necessary. It wasn't exactly that it bothered Sawyer, it didn't, but wasn't it slightly strange? After all, Gawain wasn't the one that was supposed to recognize him, Maya was.
Oh well. Maybe she had talked about him to her brother, it was no big deal really. It wasn't as if it made any difference now, did it? It was been ten years, they had both changed. Maya probably didn't even remember him. Not that he cared if she did, he didn't. He just found it interesting that he knew at least one person from his past that was here. He didn't care though.
When Gawain said Maya had never talked about him, he shrugged. "Yeah, I'm not exactly surprised." he chuckled, "Kids of that age have more important things on their mind than talking to their brother about a sandbox playmate, right?" he said, which really did make sense. It wasn't as if they'd been thirteen years old and in a summer romance or something.
Sawyer chuckled as he bounced to his feet. In a matter of seconds, he sped to the door, grabbing the keys on his unopened suit case while doing so. "Ha, I'll remember them, no worries." he smirked, waving once at his roomie before zooming out of the door.
Well, that had gone pretty well, but there was still something strange about Gawain he just couldn't put his finger on. It wasn't that he had looked so familiar, he knew it was because of the fact that he was Maya's twin... No, it was something else...
