The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kassi always enjoyed the soft sounds of nature, and the gentle play of the breeze wherever she could find it. In a city as large as New York, there were few places one could go and be alone with the peacefulness of nature.
A short, slender girl dressed in baggy clothing, Kassi drew little attention beyond the occasional curious glance from passerby's. She let her eyes wander over the building in front of her. It was impressive....in the normal planes of existance. When viewed in more than the normal three dimensions, things tended to take on a somewhat boring appearence. She noted a few areas in the basement of potentially dangerous high energy, then closed her eyes in the higher dimension. She wanted to be surprised for once, just like a normal person. She didn't want to see what was coming. Unsure of herself, Kassi moved towards the school a little bit, looking around for a person who looked like they knew what they were doing.
Koga decided to do his sword training on his own out side today. the dojo was closed, as it was the sensei's birthday and he was actually taking a day off to celebrate, the class wanted him to but hadn't expected him to actually do it, that said, it was actually a pleasant surprise that left Koga at home to day, he calmly moved through the steps and motions of the sword Kata.
After completing his kata twice he sat himself down on the grass and then plopped all the way onto his back, calmly catching his breath in the bright green grass of the mansion lawn.
As Kassi walked closer to the school, a person came into veiw. Stopping just outside the gate, Kassi watched his movements, smooth and clean, moving a sword about as if it was a part of him. After watching the boy for a few minutes, Kassi looked around. No one else was in sight. Kassi took a deep breath, and relaxed. It felt both easy and natural to open her eyes, and find the entire world laid out at her feet. Staring about her, all around her fourth-dimensional body, Kassi considered her options. It didn't look like anyone in the school had noticed her yet. Her three-dimensional body, still that of a young woman, little more than girl, was still standing at the gate, while Kassi felt her fourth-dimensional body streatching out comfortably. With another deep breath, Kassi pulled herself "up". Up, in her perspective. To any who had been watching her, Kassi would simply vanish with a pop. Although the popping noise wasn't generated by her powers, but rather, the sudden absense of her boy in the air. In the fourth dimension, Kassi moved forward slowly, a few inches "above" the three-dimensional plane.
Not wanting to startle the boy, Kassi relaxed her slight hold on her body, sinking back into the third-dimension. Her body came out onto the dimensional plane standing on the grass a few feet away from where the boy was lying in the grass. With a start, Kassi realised that he was a mutant. Obviously a mutant. Kassi stiffled a gasp, then smiled. Even someone who had suffered anti-mutant sentiments could still experience the same feelings. Kassi looked down at the boy. "Hello..." Still smiling, she crossed her legs, and sat on the grass nearby.
Koga set up with a reflexive motion luckily he was cautious on how defensively he acted here at the mansion, as any number of mutants lived here and could do different things. the fingers of his left hand still gripped the hilt of his sword. but relaxed as his eyes took in the friendly face.
He relaxed onto his elbows. " Hi! I haven't ssseen you around here before.I'm Ryuichi Koga, You can call me Koga." Koga shifted away from the grass green tone his body had decided to take on to a more natural looking shade of pale flesh. he let go of his sword all together as he fully realized this wasn't an attack in any shape or form.
Kassi had to control a natural response. Or at least, natural, for her. It was part of the somewhat limited training she had received. She hadn't meant to startle the boy, but she had, and he'd gone for the sword that he had weilded so magnificently before. Kassi almost, but didn't quite, push herself back and to her feet. She managed to stay seated. "Hi! I'm Kassi! Kassandra Strober. Call me Kassi. I'm new here."
Kassi couldn't keep an ever present grin off her face, and eyed the sword that the boy slowly released. "I saw you practicing with that thing. You're really good. Have you been practicing for a long time?"
ah,I'm ssso sssorry about that, I didn't mean to ssstartle you, certainly didn'tmean to threaten you either. Koga couldn't help but smile right back at the chipper girl. I have been practicing for about a little over a year, but I practice a lot and learn quick.I've got a knack for picking up new things I guessss.how about you?have you been at the mansssion long?.
"It's ok." Sitting crosslegged, Kassilet her hands rest on her ankles, and rocked back and forth slightly. If someone who looked as different as Koga could walk around, and even partake of a hobby outside, without fear, then she was going to be just fine. Hopefully. The faint hiss Koga emited when he spoke was a little distracting at first, but Kassi forgot about it within seconds. "I, uh, just arrived. Like, a few minutes ago. I was just looking around for someone when I saw you."
"Oh, wow! I love being there when sssomeone isss brand new! would you like me to ssshow you around or do you want to fill out the paperwork, hang out and do that ssstuff later?"
Koga was always proud of helping a stray settle in, It had to beat his first day here, though that was what he got for arriving in the middle of the night. Koga pulled himself to an Indian style position as well, sheathing his sword and replacing the peace tie.
Having been burned a few times in the past, Kassi was still slightly wary of Koga, and indeed the whole school, but as much as her good humour was infecting Koga, his was infecting her.
"You know, I never trust what I can see. Let's go see the school. I'm not even sure if I want to stay yet."
With a grin, Kassi bounced to her feet, and held out her hand to help Koga up as well. He seemed nce enough, and if he could work past Kassi's inherant uneasiness with those whom she had yet to judge fully, Kassi thought that Koga could become a friend.
