The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"At least you learned your lesson, don't sleep by open windows."
She grinned, and nodded. "Yeah, guess I did." As to whether or not he has seen Saph around the mansion, she was just as clueless as Alex. She hardly ever saw Saph unless she actually went looking for him, and most of the time he found her first. "If he happens by anytime we are together, I will make sure to point him out and introduce you." She smiled back, and tinkered with her silverware. When Alex started asking about Saphirus again, she flushed a darker shade of brown and sank a little lower in her chair.
"He is... um... not really a 'bad boy' I guess. He is... how do you say it..." The Greek paused, momentarily going though a pile of words in her head to find just the right one. "He is .... difficult to explain. He doesn't do bad things... and he just got a haircut, actually." She grinned and scratched at the back of her head, blinking as her fingers rubbed against a slight bump. Must have hit my head somewhere... Considering all of the places and things she had been through recently, that was the most likely excuse. "So perhaps 'Dirty cute' was not the best word choice. As much fun as a buzz cut and combat boots sound, I doubt a bad boy would be able to sway my...um... fashion sense."
Unless he asked nicely, of course. Her attention shifted to the food as it was set down before them, and after a swift thank you, she picked up her spoon and took a bite of broth, bean sprouts, and tofu. It was delicious. "Well, " she started, "You seem to have a natural talent in fashion as well. I have not heard a lot of people explain what a cut is, like you did. Nor have I had many people offer fashion advice." She laughed, and grabbed another spoonful of soup. "Does that mean your mutation has something to do with weather?" She blinked, thinking about how her own job melded perfectly with her mutation. He dropped the age bomb, and she tilted her head. "You are only eighteen? When is your birthday?" Plots sprang to mind about what she could throw together in the mansion kitchen... she knew a few cake recipes.... "That just means you have your whole life ahead of you to figure out what you wish to do. I would suggest doing what you love, also." With a smile, she set her spoon down and grabbed her glass again. "The food is delicious! I have never had a soup like this before."
Alexander grinned slightly as Andrea said that she would introduce him to this Saphirus. Somehow he couldn't shake the feeling that this would probably be forgotten, therefore he would probably not meet this guy, unless he himself got Andrea to find him and show him off. "Let's just say he isn't boy next door material then." He said jokingly. Dirty cute could mean many things, like he was cute but had dirty hair.
"I wouldn't put it that way, by no means do I have a natural talent in fashion." Alexander began. It was merely a matter of taste. Some people liked it one way, other fashionistas liked it another. "In some cases you are born with taste, and if you weren't born with it, you are in for a hard ride." He smiled slightly as Andrea laughed. He grabbed his fork and slowly he takes a small piece of food and eats it.
>"Does that mean your mutation has something to do with weather?"
Darned, she figured that out fast. Not that was was particularly subtle about it. At least she was one of the very few people that actually knew what his mutation was. The last thing he felt like was to parade around with his powers on display for the whole city to see. Sighing he dropped his fork down on the plate. "Yeah." He began, then looking at Andrea taking a spoon of soup in her mouth. "You're right, I manipulate the atmosphere, in simple I can change the weather as I please, but I think there are a little more to it than that." he stopped. There was no need to further the talk about that, it could possibly lead to questions he had yet to figure out and answer to.
Alexander was a bit surprised when Andrea asked about his birthday, it wasn't like that was anything interesting. Hopefully she didn't think of anything concerning surprise parties. It would be quite sad if she was the only one that bothered to come to it. "Yeah, I'm only 18" Alexander said with a sad undertone. "My birthday is in August, the 5th to be precise." He stopped it at that. It was best to wriggle himself away from this subject. Taking a sip of water, his attention went back to Andrea. "Listen, once we're done eating, what do you say to go looking at shoes first?" Alexander asked her quickly.
While she disagreed with him, she wasn't about to voice it. He seemed to do rather well with giving fashion advice... though, the idea of high heels scared her still. The comment about being born with the talent, and what would happen if you weren't caused her to blink, and dip her chin. Apparently she was going to have a hard ride... With a silent sigh, she picked up her bowl to take a sip of the broth, then paused when Alex admitted his power. She lowered the bowl, and grinned, her canines peeking out at the corners of her lips.
"So you could make it sunny, if it started raining on you?" She smiled, a little more of a casual grin, and lifted her bowl again. "Well, if you do end up taking that weather man job, I'm sure your power could help out for raises and such." She could imagine being able to change the weather in your area, and how much people would love him for always being right. Her bowl met her lips a second later, and she gulped a few mouthfuls down greedily. Her hunger needed to be resolved, and the soup was just soooooo good!
A moment later, she set her half finished bowl down and dabbed at her lips with her napkin. Next came a good sized portion of the second dish, which she split up and gulped down just as greedily. She stopped, only because Alex had spoken again, and wiped her mouth again. "August 5th?" A grin returned to her lips, and she nodded her head. It was now written down somewhere in the back of her mind.. and while shopping she would have to keep her eyes out for something to get him. Then, came the dreaded mention of... "Shoes?" Her back tensed, and her toes wiggled in fear. "That sounds great!" She stated, and lifted her bowl again to finish off her soup. One greedy gulp, and the bowl was empty. Tofu and bean sprouts and all. The empty bowl was set back down, and she wiped her mouth one last time while blinking at him innocently. "Do you have any stores in mind?"
>"So you could make it sunny, if it started raining on you?"
"That's correct." he responded, short and efficient. There was no need to go around telling tales of limitations and strength, simple was often just the best road to take. "I don't know, we'll see, I have to think through it first though." being a metereologist would be easy enough, but was it what he really wanted to do? Before he was able to think further, he heard several slurping sounds from Andrea. She was actually drinking the soup from the bowl. He didn't know what sort of home she came from, but she clearly needed some help with her table manners.
She didn't even stop with the soup. With a surprising speed she managed to eat, only stopping for a short moment. Alexander himself had given up eating himself. Watching Andrea eat was like watching some wild animal eating a half eaten animal corpse on an African savannah. Her mouth was only free from food once or twice during that little minute, unsure if she actually had swallowed or not. Repeating his birthday first, and then mentioning shoes. She didn't sound too enthusiastic, but who would have. If he was a woman trapped in the clothing taste of some old man, he would probably not have liked shopping for shoes either. "I don't really like to just go to stores I have picked out, there are so many stores to go to, so let's walk around the streets and see what we find." Alexander said. "I hope the food was good?" He asked her politely, though she probably would have eaten anything given to her.
With that being said he rushed over to the section Andrea probably had never been at before. Qucikly he found a shoe that resembled the Venus heel sandal from Gucci."Andrea you got to try these on, they look great don't you think?" he asked her excitingly, grinning.
She blinked when Alex asked for the check, dropping her eyes to the food he had barely touched, and started to dig for her wallet. He beat her to it though... She muttered a soft, "hey!" as she was promptly dragged out of the building, and down the side walk. Of course, she didn't really put up much of a fight at all... "The food was really good..." she muttered weakly, figuring that maybe her table manners had once again gotten her thrown from a restaurant. Of course, she didn't really have time to apologize either, as the shoe store Alex mentioned was quickly found, and she was tugged inside.
An assortment of shoes assaulted her eyes and she stopped to stare for a moment while Alex wandered away. He had spotted something it seemed, but she had been hopelessly distracted by a hair of high heels that sported a shiny metal heel. It looked like someone had strapped an ice pick to the back of a sneaker. When Alex mentioned finding a shoe for her, she pulled a box from the shelf in what she figured was her size, then looked up to the one on display... and squeaked.
It looked... horribly painful. But... the excitement in Alex's voice was too much. She would have to try them on, least she hurt his feelings. With a little bit of a wince that was thankfully covered up by her glasses, she nodded and toddled off to a chair. With the box at her side, she slipped off her old beaten up sneakers and slipped on the first high heel sandal. As soon as the second one went on, she held her legs out in front of her and wiggled her now visible toes. "They are... much more comfortable than I thought." She stated with a small smile. A woman walked by, stopped and spied the shoes on her feet, and clapped her hands. "Oh, don't those look just fabulous on you! Stand, stand! Walk around in them." She made little shooing motions with her hand, and feeling like she had done that part of her job for the day, turned and went back to stocking and organizing boxes in the store.
Andrea stared after her. She was crazy, thinking she'd be able to stand up in those shoes, let alone walk around! With a quick glance at Alex, she sighed and pushed herself to her feet. Again, she didn't want to hurt his feelings by not putting any effort into having fun... The heels made her wobbly... very, very wobbly. She blinked, holding her arms out at her sides, and tried to take a few steps. It helped that they were pretty solidly attached to her feet with straps, but not enough to stop her from flailing about and having to catch herself on displays every other step.
Alexander smiled slightly as Andrea sat down on a nearby chair. She took off her old sneakers, which seemed to be a bit too worn out for his own personal taste. As the first pair of heels came on, he could see that her legs looked better already. Shockingly however Andrea said that they were more comfortable than she had first thought, at which Alexander just grinned at. From seemingly nowhere a woman had appeared, she probably came while Alexander was admiring the shoes that was now placed safely on Andrea's feet. She had agreed that they did look good at her.
Before he knew it the woman told Andrea to walk around in them, and then just prancing off to some boxes a bit further away. Alexander eyed the lady from afar, and then looked down at Andrea. Had she even had on a pair of high heels before? Perhaps he should stop her now and go look for a pair of shoes with a shorter heel, that way she could could get much easier used to wearing heels. "Perhaps you sho...." Andrea who had already stood up, was now wobbling her way in a very strange fashion. It almost looked like she was ready to perform at a circus walking on a rope. "You all right Andrea?" He asked her, his face expressed a certain concern for her feet.
"Have you even worn high heeled shoes before?" Alexander asked her. He blinked before he looked around at the other assortment of shoes. Careful not to look too long before glancing over at Andrea wobbling and flailing around the store, almost like she was walking around some obstacle course. "I think you can come sit down here again, and if it helps, your legs look really good in those shoes." Alexander told her as he patted the top of the chair hard. In the meanwhile he found a pair of pumps in the same size as Andrea had the sandals in. They were too black and plain, but shiny resembling the standard Louboutin pumps minus the red bottom of the shoe. The heel however was considerably shorter than the ones she was already wearing. "How about you try on this pair instead?"
