Special Notes
Circumstances of Death: Travis Silveria was killed at the age of eighteen, caught in the crossfire of a gang-related drive by shooting when in Edinburg, Texas. Due to the relative size of the town, the isolation of the incident, and Travis' complete disassociation with either gang, it never received major press outside of Edinburg, Doffing, or other Texan news sources. The young man's clean record, and obviously checking out U.S. birth certificate also kept him from receiving press due to his nationality.
Chances of Knowledge: It is unlikely that a character would know of the 'Travis Silveria' incident. Even if they had heard about it, it's not likely that they'd connect Davi to that dead young man. They'd just believe him to be another Latino with the same name coincidentally. Neither 'Travis' nor 'Silveria' are particularly uncommon names, after all.
Reason for Assuming Identity: Travis' identity was chosen because of the lack of press surrounding his death, and the fact that he really had little in the way of a paper trail of his own. The young man had gone to public schools, never had any disciplinary measures taken against him, and had gotten average grades. Having not joined sports, any special classes, or ever even attempted to obtain a driver's license cut even more possibly paperwork out of his life. In fact, all he really has going for him is his birth and death certificates, and his high school diploma; his family hadn't had the money to pay for college thanks to his many siblings.
Difficulty of Discovery: While Davi paid a fair amount to assume a dead young man's identity a few months after his death, it would actually be fairly easy to find him out. Assuming either the authority to do a proper check on Travis' identity, or the ability to fake that, his death certificate actually hasn't been destroyed or masked particularly well. Granted, it would take a closer look to realize that Davi's Social Security number matches the dead Travis', but once that was noticed it would be very easy to unravel his fake identity. All it would really take is for someone to actually have cause to look that closely, which he does his very best to make sure no one does.
