The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Juka blinked and stared at Andrea, dumbfounded. He knew it was rude but he just couldn't help it. How could one go on a date by mistake? How was that even possible? "How do you go on accidental dates?" he asked, simply unable to completely wrap his head around the concept. He always made it clear to the people he was asking out that he was asking them on a date. Actually, now that he really thought about it, he didn't really tend to go on dates. It was more along the lines of casual hook ups that usually led to other things. No real dating involved, exactly. But the fact remained that he'd never gone on any accidental dates before. That he knew of.
As the ticket sales woman complimented Andrea on her scarf, Juka beamed both at Andrea and the ticket lady. He knew he was right about the scarf being perfect for her and here was all the confirmation of such a fact as he needed. He didn't realize that her attempts at speech happened to be attempts at dissuading him from finding her a guy of her very own. "It was gotten at Kali's Boutique in Times Square," Juka answered happily. "Its a darling place, I'm sure you'd find something you'd love there. If you go, just let Kali know that Juka Miami sent you and I'm sure she'd treat you extra special." Because he was one of her best and most regular customers. And he was famous. Sort of.
Waving at the ticket lady, Juka followed Andrea into the museum proper. "You are so very welcome, my lovely lady. You deserve the best. And she most certainly was nice." The question now was, where to go? The museum was, apparently, rather large. He decided to let Andrea lead him in whatever direction she fancied. He hadn't been to a museum since he was a child so this ought to be a rather interesting experience.
"Well...." she started, tinkering with her fingers shyly. "It just sort of... er... happened. I didn't realize what I was doing classified as a date." With a sheepish laugh, she scratched at the back of her head nervously. "I think, with time, I will get down what is and what is not a date..." Another giggle followed, and she dropped her arm to walk side by side with Juka through the mall. "Thank you Juka, you are very kind." A true smile accompanied her words, and she left it at that. There was no need to gush pleasantries at him, when he probably already knew.
Instead, she flipped open the little booklet that she had been given and looked for where to go first. There were a number of things to see on the first floor, but if they started down stairs and went up, they'd have to come all the way back down still. "Shall we go up, and head down?" She waited for his answer, then nodded and headed for where the elevator was marked on her map. Listening to the soft music they played over the intercom on the way up made her feel a little chatty, so she decided to ask some questions.
"Do you live at the mansion Juka?" She tilted her head, waiting until the elevator door slipped open before they exited. She toddled over to the first display, and stared.... and stared, and tilted her head, then stared some more. It was abstract art... so she couldn't quite make out what the figure was supposed to be doing. The next couple of displays were of the of the same style, different colors and themes. Further down the hall it slipped into modern art, and then into impressionists and a hand full of sculptures.
"Isn't this just wonder full?" She asked, staring up at a sculpture someone had done of two salamanders intertwined with each other. It was pretty, and graceful, and the fact that the two animals were mating flew right over the Greeks head. She turned to Juka, pulled her map up in front of her face, and blinked. There are a flew places left on this floor... it looks like we caught them in the middle of switch over. Shall we head downstairs?"
Well, if had just sort of happened, who was Juka to say otherwise? he was still mightely confused about how something like that could 'just sort of happen' but he was willing to take Andrea at her word. Confusing and baffling though that word may be. "I'm sure you will my dear," Juka offered her an encouraging smile.
"Why don't we start on the top floor and work our way down?" Juka suggested. It didn't really make too much difference to him as long as they had an opportunity to see everything. He wasn't normally the museum type, but since they were here he intended to make the absolute most of the experience. Because what was the point, otherwise?
"Technically I don't live at the Mansion," Juka explained, "but I'm there often enough that I may as well. I have an appartment near central park but I spend almost as much time at the Mansion as I do in my appartment. How about you?" He couldn't remember seeing her around but between his odd schedule and the shere number of mutants that lived there, that wasn't really saying much.
Juka was surprised at just how much he discovered himself enjoying the museum. Although he wasn't much for the actual history behind it, the art through the ages was fascinating and often beautiful. He made mental notes to himself regarding any ideas he might be able to 'borrow' for his own uses. "Downstairs sounds great," he agreed with some enthusiasm.
