The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daria frowned. She didn't always like to see Mike when he was angry, it was so odd since she was so used to him being sweet. On the other hand she was always happy she could rely on him.
"No you won't." she said. "I mean, you might, but I'd rather you didn't. He's just a kid and he reeks of anger. He needs someone on his side."
Mike wasn't too sure. Johnny hadn't ever been the friendliest kid... ever since he'd started school, the crowds he'd run around with had been bullies or something close. He didn't trust him any farther than he could physically throw him, and the only way he'd try to throw him was with a brick to the head first.
"I'd hate to see what kind of people he'll get on his side," he answered, his hand brushing against hers tentatively.
Mike didn't press the issue, or even let on that he noticed, but his heart sank a little as he felt her pull away, even as slightly as she did. They'd kicked the hell out of Johnny, but... in the end, he'd still found a way to beat them.
"It's my fault... if I hadn't caused so much trouble, he wouldn't hate me so much," he whispered, bracing his arms against the windowsill and leaning on it.

"Trouble?" Daria asked.
"Mike, some people are gonna be angry no matter what. You can't change their mindset and you definitly can't blame yourself for their anger." she stated her words adamantly hoping that she could still show her concern.
He turned his head and smiled weakly at her, vaguely wondering in the back of his mind how long it would take before things could be the way they were... if they could.
He looked up at the top of his head. "Shall we check on the other little sister? Or do you want to tackle that on your own," he offered, still not sure exactly how much she wanted him around.
At that moment from down the hall could be heard: "Miiiiiiiike! Daaaaaaaria!" as Hairpin ran from Daria's room to Mike's. Entering the room, she lept for Mike, intending to be hugged.
"I missed you guys!" Hairpin said immediately. Then her eyes flashed for a second, and she started talking pretty fast. "Blunderbore fought Ms. Tipper and a snakehead lady, and then a robot was on Ms. Tipper's computer, and it's name is Elvis, and it can dance, and I learned how to make eggrolls!" Hairpin said quickly, her eyes gleaming in excitement. She looked over to Sarah as Dafi plopped on Hairpin's head. "Hi! I'm Kitty!" she said with a bright smile.
