The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mike smirked. "Something like this," he said. Though no change took place to Michael, he could show her the picture in her mind. Indigo wings spread from his back. Blue armor covered his chest and left arm, and his right arm hovered over a sword of psychic power.
"You look scary." Hairpin said, a slight waver in her voice. Not only was she not used to someone putting images in her ming, but the image that was put there looked to her like a scary version of Mike. Dafi promptly hopped onto Mike's head at this point, and began lightly thumbing her foot on his head for sheer amusement.
Mike winced, but didn't argue with her. "THe mind is a very confusing thing," he said, shrugging slightly. "Everything depends on perception in the Astral plane, both your perception and everyone else's."
"Do you want to visit the Zadkiel now?" Hairpin asked. She wanted to meet her friend again, but with Mike this time. If he was concerned, then she didn't want to go back alone. "And can Dafi come?" she asked.
Mike thought about it a minute, then shook his head. "I'm sort of tired right now, I don't think I'm up to an astral trip yet," he said quite honestly. "Another time, though."
"Okay!" Hairpin said loudly. She hugged Mike tightly. "What smells funny?" she asked, wrinkling her nose. Her eyes darted around the room, and landed on Mike's shoes. Dafi lept down over to the shoes, sniffled them, and promptly faked her own death.
Mike winced. "I had to take a trip with Ms. Tipper. If you think those smell bad, you should have smelled my clothes when we got back," he said. His shoes were promptly floated out the window to hang outside, another pair floating out from inside the closet.

Daria had sensed Mike in her mind and immediatly knew he was alright. She told Sarah to wait to see him though because she wanted Hairpin to have a chance to say something to him, and too see if Mike's suspicions matched her own.
Eventually, though, both her and Sarah's excitment proved too much. Sarah had fallen asleep on the counter and Daria rolled her eyes and teleported to the room.
She and sarah appeared on the bed, Daria sitting and Sarah lying down.
"Hey there!" Daria said running over to him. "I take one shower and you try to escape me?" she joked.
Sarah woke up sluggishly and gave him a hug. "You missed it. Kitty is sooooo goood at frisbee. She's better than me!"
Mike grinned. "Sorry, got pulled away on business," he teased, kissing her back.
"I had the 'privelage' of traipsing through the sewers with Tricity and a happy little monster that I helped Tricity smack down once before. And for the record, I now need new boots."
Hairpin ran up to Daria, uttering another "Mommy!" as she hugged her. Hairpin practically acted like a dog seeing it's owner walk through a door, every time she saw Daria. It was quite cute, the way the girl took so well to Daria. "I told Mike about the Astral Plane." Hairpin said.

Daria grinned and hugged her back. "Oh, yeah, I figured Sarah and I would give you time to speak. She fell asleep anyways, it's going on midnight.
"I am not tired!" Sarah argued with a big yawn.
Yeah, is it bad that all this mental meditation stuff keeps reminding me of Johnny. I told her she shouldn't give info to strangers...it makes me so nervous. Daria thought to Mike wiht a mental shudder.
Hairpin looked from Daria to Mike. Obviously they must be talking to each other in their minds. "Sarah!" Hairpin cried, pouncing on the giggling girl. The two began tickling each other, Hairpin not using her hair to keep it fair.

I'd say hallelujah and probably lick your face.
Daria thought happily. She wasn't quite sure what that meant but she was happy about it.
Sarah yawned again, even while laughing. "Can I have some left over pizza?"
Daria frowned. "It doesn't count as left over pizza when you had four slices just an hour ago. And you'll have nightmares if you eat so close to going to bed."
"Who said I was going to bed?" Sarah said, removing a lolipop from her pocket and begining to unwrap it.
"Well, unfortunately it looks like getting it is going to mean stealing it from a private collection on display in a museum," Mike thought to her, "So we're not in the clear yet, but we can at least keep Whitmore from getting it now, if we know where it is, until we can finish the plan to steal it or destroy it."
