The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Whitmore said so... not that I think he's a reliable source, but it makes sense. Nothing else would make Orion stay away this long, and it would explain how Whitmore's known so much about our defenses here."

"I never got to meet Orion but he has to be a stron guy because Tricity is a strong woman. Do you think he would crack that easily under pressure? Did he havea stone?"
"Don't know if he has a stone, but everyone has their weak point. I think that she and the baby are his weak point, from what Tricity tells me. I only met him once, he seemed all right. Aside from, you know, being thousands of years old, from what I hear."

"Huh? Is his mutation immortality or something?" Daria asked cocking an ear.
She finished off the milk and teleported the glass to the table. No throbbing this time since she was actualyl touching the object. Her hands immediately disspeared inside her sleeves.
"I honestly have no idea. Something about 'order and chaos,' I don't understand it myself. Except, of course, for the fact that he's scary-powerful."
"Oh, and apparently we've redeemed ourselves enough after our little escapades in the War Room that Tricity wants me to be second in command." Mike didn't sound like he was bragging as he said this... if anything he sounded a little nervous, but he'd be damned if he showed it.

"Oh captain, My captain." she grinned and backed up taking a bow. "This is really gonna look great on your resume, honey. Can you imagine? 'Second in Command of the X-Men?"
"See, there's that career advancement I was thinking I couldn't get," he teased.
"I assume, though, that we don't have rules against 'fraternizing with the troops,' or I'll get fired in no time flat," he grinned, pulling her back into his arms.

"Oh, man I hope not." Daria said kissing him. "Because I was just about to suggest we celebrate your new promotion." She wrapped her arms around his neck and purred.

"Oh, c'mon." She joked, her ears twitching so that her earrings jingled. "Don't tease me, thats soooooo mean, Mike." She winked at him and pressed her body closer to his.
"Mmmm... fine, I won't tease you," he said, almost growling, as he pulled her hard against him and kissed her, pulling her down onto the bed with her. He was a little rougher this time... but definitely not in a bad way. DEFINITELY.
Mike was pulling off clothes indiscriminantly with his mind, both his and hers, as he kissed her. "Maybe you are," he whispered in her ear as he rolled on top of her. "Is that a bad thing?" He nipped at her ear lightly before sliding down her body, figuring he'd hear her answer whether she spoke it or not.
