The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was just one little question, but it was a little question of such intense worth that Tarin just stood there for a second chewing stupidly on the half of sandwich he’d picked up. If the strange, shared dream was something that Lee disliked speaking about; this was something she downright avoided. Why was she bringing it up now?
Tarin swallowed, finally, slightly disgusted with the massive bite he’d taken out of surprise and turned back to look at Lee and shrugged, answering carefully. ”You know how I feel on that, Lee. You’ve always been more than enough for me.
He stopped, still puzzled by the phrasing of her question, a puzzle piece fell into place, and he frowned slightly, ”Just because of all this doesn’t mean I’ve changed my mind, Lee. If anything, it makes it easier for me to understand where you‘re coming from. Sure I wouldn’t mind kids…especially with how well Alice was turning out…but we’ve been over this and my opinion hasn’t changed. “
He could better understand where she was coming from with not wanting to get pregnant. All because of what they had been through in the last few months. That...No, Lee didn't think that even now Tarin had any idea about how she had felt about it. It had never really been so much about the whole having kids, it had more had to do with being terrified about the very thought of being pregnant.
Lee simply nodded, not sure what to say at that very moment. At least he hadn't changed his mind about wanting kids. At least not completely. That could have been weird and bad.
"I," Lee said, almost stammering slightly, as she dropped her eyes back down to the kitchen floor in front of her feet. "I don't want to risk missing anything again. Even though the thought of actually being pregnant does still terrify me."

Lee spoke again, and Tarin’s jaw dropped open a bit. He was glad he’d swallowed the sandwich a moment ago, before Lee had dropped her little bomb. This was why she’d wanted to talk bout the stuff that had happened in Romania? As a segue into talking about kids? Tarin blinked, Lee never wanted to talk about having kids. Now she was saying that she….Tarin blinked again.
It wasn’t that Tarin was disappointed in what she’d said…it just seemed so unlike Lee… Yes, he wanted kids, he kind of wanted them more than anything the older he got. They’d talked about this though, Lee had made it clear that this was something she was completely uncomfortable with. When they’d had the little scare, right after they’d been married, she’d been a mess.
”I know you’re terrified…you’ve always been terrified….but Alice was fine….Lee, are you sure?” Tarin said, then scowled at himself, that hadn’t come out right at all.
”Don’t take that wrong…I mean, you know these are things I want to hear…but are you sure that this is something you really want and not just something you feel like you need to do? It’s not the sort of thing to do if you’re not positive.”
"You think I would be talking about this if I wasn't entirely sure?" Lee asked softly, her eyes drifting up to her husband. She had already thought about this, long and hard, before she had ever even attempted to bring it up with Tarin. This was something important, very important. How could she possibly bring something like this up, like this, if she wasn't sure?
But at the same time, the fear of being pregnant was there, even just thinking about it. And, with how well Tarin knew her, he could probably see that fear on her face. Was that why he was asking if she was sure?
"I'm not sure I'll ever be absolutely positive," Lee admitted finally. "There's too much worry to be absolutely positive. But that doesn't mean I don't want to have a family with you. As long as you're here to get me through being pregnant..."

Lee had a point, Lee definitely had a point. She wasn’t the kind of person who would bring something up…to get his hopes up, just to dash them because she wasn’t sure about it. Had he missed all of her consideration? Had he been walking around that blindly over the past couple of weeks? Surely Lee thinking about this whole kid thing had to have been weighing on her mind . Surely she’d been struggling with the decision to say something to him.
Tarin stepped forward again and hugged Lee, ”I’m sorry I’ve been so checked out since we got home. It’s just…. a lot to deal with…to wrap my head around.”
She kept talking, and Tarin stepped back, crossing his arms across his chest as he listened. She was scared even a little terrified, but she wanted to try for real. As long as he was going to be there to get her through the pregnancy. ”Of course I’d be there Lee, where would I go?”
Tarin smiled, ”I’d even go get you pickles and ice cream…or watermelons and cheese…whatever you wanted.”
Lee actually smiled a bit when Tarin said what he would even go to get her while she was pregnant. "Do women really eat those kinds of things together?" Lee couldn't really help but ask. She'd been too young when Rachael and Doug were born to remember even if her mother had had any cravings, never mind what they were, and it wasn't as if Lee had really been around that many pregnant women since she had left her parents' ten years earlier. Well, she had probably been around a number, but like with all the other crowds, she hadn't paid that much attention to them, hadn't gotten that close to them.
Once again, Lee stepped forward to give Tarin a hug. "We should probably see DocProf, though," Lee said, giving another squeeze. "Make sure everything is alright, if there might be anything extra we'll have to do or watch for..."

More hugs, Tarin liked this development and wrapped his arms around Lee as she moved forward. It was almost impossible in that moment to think that there had been a time when he’d thought it was all over. That none of this would ever happen again, especially this conversation…it was almost too much for Tarin to take again and he found himself choking down a little emotion.
Lee pointed out that they should probably go and see Doc Prof, and Tarin nodded before he pulled back and frowned a little bit. ”Do you really think we should go to the mansion? Maybe we should check out the doctors at the labs. It is a lab facility…and they did introduce us to Dr. Rossi. She’s done lots of good things.”
Tarin unwrapped his arms from around his wife and stepped back, ”But if he’s who you’d be comfortable with seeing…I doubt they’d mind us being around too much…oh hell, I don’t care where you go...I‘m just getting all flustered.”
Tarin asked if she really thought they should go to the mansion, if they should go to DocProf about this, and Lee didn't have a clue what to say. Other than after she'd had her first few appointments with Dr. Rossi, Lee didn't ever really think about going anywhere other than DocProf when she needed a doctor. Sure, if she needed a healer, there were Slate and Sebastian, but in terms of a doctor she always thought of DocProf.
"Yeah, I guess we can at least go see someone there," Lee allowed after a couple moments. "And they did look pretty well equipped there, didn't they?"
Then Tarin stepped back from her again, and Lee laughed slightly at his comment. "You're getting flustered?" She asked, a grin on her face. "You know that's not what I had in mind. There's a lot more fun ways I can fluster you." Lee paused and tilted her head slightly as she looked up at Tarin. "Should I go try and find one of those ways in my closet?" She questioned, a playful glint in her eye.

Tarin nodded when Lee pointed out that the labs had looked pretty well equipped the last time they’d been there. That was definitely true, but a part of him felt bad about Doc Prof. The man had never been anything but fantastic as far as their health had been concerned. The coma hadn’t been his fault, it hadn’t been a medical problem. This was also deviating from the way things had gone in the dream…they’d definitely had Doc Prof as their doctor, and he was used to working with mutants. Tarin frowned, he was already being a flake.
”Maybe we should check both places out.” he said, ”Everything worked out so well in the….dream….and we worked with Doc Prof.” He stopped, head spinning a bit as he thought about all the implications of this. Luckily, Lee came to the rescue with something that appealed purely to the physical being that Tarin was.
Flustered…closet…clothes…Lee….”Uh-huh.” he said, nodding his head. ”Fluster me…please.”
Lee simply nodded when Tarin pointed out that in the dream they had gone to DocProf when she'd been pregnant and things had worked out then. "Yeah, we'll see," Lee replied. "I think DocProf thinks that I overreact about some things. We'll talk to him, too, though."
Tarin's reaction when she suggested that she could change into something more fluster-worthy was...Well, Lee could have predicted that reaction. She grinned.
They had at least broached the subjects of what had happened, and what Lee thought they should try to do for their future. They could always talk about it in more detail later, after they'd both had the chance to think about it a bit more. And in the mean time they may as well enjoy the time they had together, right?
"Alright, I'll go see what I can find in my closet," Lee told Tarin, the grin still on her face. "Finish up here and come join me in a few minutes?"
Not even waiting for Tarin to respond, Lee turned and make her way out of the kitchen, heading toward the bedroom.
Just because they had talked about really, actually having kids, didn't mean they were anywhere close to trying. But practising sure could be fun.
