The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Eleki entered the crowded dining hall. She was nervous, the shy side of her took over as she carefully made her way through the people who were there to eat lunch. She found a tray and after getting a bit of help making her selections, she was able to sit down with a full plate. She was starving. She went over and found an empty table, all the people she could sense around her made it hard to concentrate on her food. She just hoped that no one would think she was trying to be rude or single herself out or anything like that. She picked up her fork and carefully managed to get a piece of cooked brocoli into her mouth. She chewed it, at least this isn't as bad as people are always saying dorm food is at the colleges.
Ben had managed to rustle up some grub in the kitchen and now he headed into the considerably sized dining room. He got the whole new kid stare and everything but it wasnt the first time in his life and probably wouldn't be the last. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed a red headed girl sitting at a table all by herself. He figured that was as ggood as any a place to start with the friend making. He haded over to her table and once there asked...
" Well i figure you're either new to this place as I am or need a friend anyway....so you mind if eat with you? I'm hoping you say yes because I havent eaten in awhile and I don't know if my stomach will let me look for another place..."

Eleki laughed at his comment and smiled, turning her head in his general direction. "Of course you can sit with me, I don't mind a bit," she said in her moderately accented voice. She took another bite of her food before going on. "My name's Eleki Csonka, and yes, I am new here. My stomach was about as hungry as yours." She grinned. "So what is your name?"
Ben smiled at her although he knew she couldnt tell. He was sure that she could hear it if nothing else.
" Well mam, the names Ben Murphy. Nice to meet you. I just got in today...." Ben said between bites. " So where you from Ms. Eleki? The place I used to call home is back in Kentucky. Of course I doubt I'll be going back there anytime soon so i reckon i better get used to calling this crazy place home.."
As he said this Ben looked up and directly at Ms. Csonka. Fully noticing her rather striking features, any pain at the last thoughts he had spoke dissolved away. (Oh Damn!) he thought. What if she could read thoughts? He really needed to remember this wasnt Kansas anymore....

Eleki laughed. "There's no need to call me ma'am, or ms. for that matter, Eleki does just fine." She told him, taking another bite of her dinner. She chewed for a moment before she swallowed and went on. "I'm from Pennsylvania, my parents are both from Hungary though, hence the accent, and the funny name." She grinned. "Of course, I haven't seen too many Irish names in my lifetime, so yours is pretty funny-sounding to me."
" Sorry mam...er...I mean Eleki. Force of habit I guess. Yeah I reckon an irish name would be funny sounding to ya. Yeah my people came over on the boat a few generations ago , so I didnt get an accent. Allthey gave me was this red hair. So I assume your a mutant like me eh? How did your family take it?"
Ben looked around the large dining hall. Soon he would probably have to leave. The sound was creating a buzz within him that was almost vibrating his teeth.

Eleki nodded. "Yes, yes, they were very surprised when it happened. But being an only child helped, I'm sure. They wanted what was best for me and decided that since they didn't know anything about it, this place seemed the best for me to continue my schooling." Eleki turned her head, trying figure out what it was that was making Ben turn around so uncomfortabley. Nothing seemed wrong to her. It felt like a lot of people, that's all. "Are you looking for someone?" she asked at last.
How did she know? Ben wondered in his head. He started to explain it all to her but hesitated. He hadnt really grown all that comfortable talking about it. Finally though he realized where he was and instantly felt a bit more at ease. " Well Eleki, I absorb sound and although it will normally dissipate after a little while, the noise in here is so constant that the energy is just building. The hum I hear inside me gets pretty loud and I'm still afraid to see how loud it can get without discharging. I think I'm going to leave now, but hey, I guess we're pals now so I hope we get a chance to talk some more later. Would you care to meet me in the living room later on?".....

Eleki nodded. "You find a lot of interesting things around here. I wouldn't mind meeting you in the living room later, but don't be surprised if it takes me awhile." She laughed and smiled. "It can be hard to find things for the first time when you don't know where you're going."
"No rush at all. I gotta go fill out all that paperwork Ms. Triicity gave me so it'll prolly be awhile. Take care, I'll see ya afterwhilWith that Ben took his dishes up and left the dining room.

"See you later," Eleki said as Ben got up and left. She sighed, Alone again. She got another forkful of food and started chewing it rather thoughtfully. Well, I've met three people here so far. I hope I get to see them all again, so far everyone seems pretty nice.
