The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sebastian nodded periodically throughout the commentaries of the others in the room, not necessarily in agreement, but in thought. Staggering the attempts at infiltrating the camps with the so-called "tracking" machines would wisely increase their chances of success, especially if those infiltrators would be facing more of Lenna's "kind" as Dean had called them. The Adapteds. If the power nullifiers were truly human, it was perfectly possible that they could be very powerful allies to the anti-mutant cause.
Sebastian's white tail continued to twitch and twine from time to time, completely ignoring the advances of the bald red prehensile limb that snaked toward it. While he was able to keep himself relatively calm, collected, and still, his tail probably was an easy give away that he would have preferred immediate action to sitting around talking.
Still, they shouldn't rush these decisions. These were people's lives they were going to put in danger... considering putting in danger, Sebastian mentally corrected himself. Nothing was set in stone yet. Were they being too hasty? Yes, said his head. No, screamed his heart.
"We should pause to consider any alternatives we have." No we shouldn't! Let's do it now! "Are there any safer..." faster? "...alternatives? Any other ways to find out the camp locations without putting more lives at stake? We should consider every option we have." His logical thoughts clamped down on his emotional inner dialog, or tried at least. There were still very quiet thoughts of no we shouldn't rattling around in the vicinity of his rib cage.
Then Abyss started talking numbers. Now that he could work with.
"I also have some people I can contact to add to those numbers. I'm not sure about the numbers yet, several of my friends were taken and the rest are fairly scattered. Whomever is left, may I offer them a sanctuary here whether or not they are able to help in the final breakout?" For this question, he looked to Abyss who seemed to know the most about the workings of the Underground and might be the most knowledgeable about how friendly they would be towards guests.
The man rose. Out went the butt. He spoke. She listened. He made some good points.
Slight modification... His change on the plan could work. And while her plan was plenty good, it was always useful to have a follow-up, or a fallback. She agreed with his suggestions.
"Sounds good to me. As for the 'how many more'." Lenna's shoulders shrugged. "I'm not aware of exact numbers." The two this man had met may have been the two she was aware of. The man Mars had told her about, and the nurse, Tyranny.
She glanced towards one of the red men as he spoke. She still wasn't able to tell one from another, having just met them, so... who knew which one? She nodded at his comment on Meld.
"I believe she'll be up for it."
Then, the giant answered Sebastian's question. 35. That was a good number to have as backup. Twice that, if they called in the cavalry.
As everyone wrapped up their talking points, Lenna uncrossed her arms. It seemed they'd come up with a detailed plan already. All that was left was picking up Meld, and finishing the preparations. She looked to Sebastian.
"I'll have to talk with you later about seeing some of those people. If you need help contacting them," She smiled. "I can aid."
