The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

*Tricity came into the dining room, holding a bowl behind her which Archon was licking with remnants of applesauce on it. Johnathon had just paged Cassiel to come into the dining room so the two could talk.*
Mike considered it before answering. "I'm worried... very, very worried. I think things are going to get a lot uglier before this is all over. But so far things have turned out better than they had any right to, so I'm all right." He considered Tricity for a minute as he picked up the sandwich. "I'm not the one being hit hardest by this, though... how are YOU holding up? And remember that you're talking to one of the people on campus who knows when you're lying."
*She smirked and picked her head up from the table.* "Honestly, not too well. I'm worried for Kaine and especially Orion. I just don't know where to look...Capturing Orion had to have been one of the hardest things to do. I guess he threatened him." *Archon began licking the bowl so hard it dropped and fell on the rug. The wolf looked up at her when she said 'Orion' and began to whimper.* "Maybe Whitmore has been getting his hands on the registration papers of mutants?"
"God, I hope not. Still, it'd explain things. I can't say I'm surprised he recognized me, I was all over the news for a while. The others, though..." He shrugged, taking a rather large bite of his sandwich. "Still, maybe we can figure out who he'd be after next? Try to catch him in the act? Anyone who's registration would raise flags would be a start."
"But it could be anyone really. Who knows the different mutants he wants to capture?" *She sighed and pet Archon's head. After a moment, Tricity spoke softly, afraid of his reaction.* "I was thinking about breaking into City Hall..."
He took another bite after that, and continued after swallowing. "I'd like to point out the same things you pounded into my head. Everything we do reflects onto the school, and we need the school."
He took another bite as he let this sink in. "So let me know what you need to find out. My grandfather's a federal judge, and he used to be a state judge in New York. He can probably get his hands on anything if I can convince him. Short of that, I'll do the sneaking around and being shady, thank you very much. A punk kid with a history of getting into trouble getting caught doing that is a lot less damaging than the headmistress getting caught doing it."
Mike looked at her dubiously, but nodded before taking another bite. She'd said 'we.' If anything happened, he could always claim that he'd been doing the breaking in, and she'd been trying to stop him. "I'm listening."
"Well, if you want, I can stay out of the building if it bothers you that much. Right now I need to go to the Doc's for a minute. I'll call for you later, ok?" *Tricity got off the table, Archon following, and they left the room.*
Mike quirked an eyebrow as she left. Then he shrugged. If this was going to happen, it'd happen. He likely couldn't stop her from coming in the building anyway. And they were mutants... security systems were meant to keep humans out.
"You know where I'll be," he called back to her, before digging into his sandwich in ernest.

After suprvising clean up in the kitchen and making sure the older kids got the younger kids to the dorms, Daria walked off to find Mike and did just that in the dining room. she smiled as she took a seat in his lap.
Mike smiled putting his arms around Daria as she sat. "Too much," he sighed, not losing his smile. "Apparently, Ms. Tipper got attacked today, someone got kidnapped, and now she wants to break into city hall to get something. So... pretty much it's keeping up with the norm lately." He gave her a kiss. "How about you?"
