The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daria hadn't realized she was hungry too. She yawned deeply-she'd been fighting the urge to sleep all day, this had to be the longest she'd ever gone without a nap. She walked in first and held the door open for Mike. "whats for lunch?" she asked since he was closer to the menu.
"Cheeseburgers and pizza, lunch of champions," Mike replied, their trays floating over to them. He seemed to be walking without the stiffness he'd had from their sparring earlier, but it was hard to tell how much of that was just pride.

Daria grabbed her tray with a smile. She's seen so much here and Mike's telekenisis still impressed her. She followed behind him to get online, glancing around the room for Tricity. She didn't see, hear or smell the woman yet so she assumed she hand't yet arrived.
"Cheeseburgers? Good I'm in the mood for meat." she licked her lips instinctively. She often wondered whether or not she'd ever be able to hunt something down and kill it with her bare hands. She'd chased a mouse once, just to see if she could catch it, but the human side of her felt bad and set the cute little rodent free. Earlier, when she'd woken up, she'd wanted tuna or something with fish but beef was the next best thing, beside there was always dinner. Daria set her tray down on the ledge to slide it along as she grabbed milk from the cooler.
"I hope you know my side still hurts" she said to Mike. "you slammed me to the ground harder than i thought you would." she pretended to put the ice cold carton on her wound.
"Well, I'm doomed to a crappy sleep tonight, since you kicked me in my back, kicked me in my chest, and got my side banged around, so however I roll I'm going to hit something." He smirked as he picked up a burger. "You know, beating ourselves up might not have been the brightest thing for us to do, given where we're going tonight."

Daria placed two cheeseburgers on her tray. She didn't want any lettuce or tomatoes-strictly meat.
She cocked an eyebrow at Mike when he spoke. "Excuse me, I'm sorry but I do recall it was your idea to spar. I was fine with your first suggestion; a peaceful jog." Then she smiled. "But hey, you were the one who decided you wanted to do something more... physical."
Mike shrugged. "Yes... I don't recall you objecting to things getting more physical, though. And I can't say I'm really complaining, I can't think of anyone I'd rather have beat me around." Mike picked up some onion rings and a drink, looking around for a table where they could keep an eye on the door.

Daria opened her mouth to say something back but said instead "Over here" in reference to a table. It was near the door and the window and Daria wanted to be able to see outside in case it started to rain again.
"Anyways" she said exageratedly as she sat down. "..I actually dont think we'll be fighting Kage. You're the real Telepath here, I mean didn't you feel that good part inside of him?"
"Very, very deep. I couldn't even reach it. I flooded his mind with fear, nothing happened. I gave him heard-wrenching guilt, still nothing. So I'm not taking anything for granted. Tricity wants to go, and I'm sure that she wouldn't if a fight was likely, but it's the unlikely I'm worried about."
And you've always been up for a good fight, haven' t you, Mike?
He felt uneasy at that thought, but decided to drown the feeling in hamburger.

The cat girl's eyes widened as Mike took a big bite out of his burger.
"Hungry much?" she teased. She on the other hand opened up the old fashioned glass bottle of ketchup on the table and began to shake it's contents on the burger relentlessly, smothering the burger in red liquid. She was almost entranced by the color.
"I dunno, I felt something good in him but like i told Tricity it's only my heightened senses that make me able to read people. I don't really have psychic abilities, I'll leave it to you. But I mean, geez Mike, you fight Kage, you fight me and now you're going after him again. If i didn't know any better.." she laughed.

Daria could believe that he wanted to protect Tricity and, for some odd reason, her as as well. She didn't want to get too personal but couldn't help but ask:
"Well, I told you already that I got in a lot of fights before coming here. Well, a good number of them I started. I couldn't control my powers, so the angrier people got, the angrier I got. So I started a lot of fights, and I ended the ones I didn't start. You... saw the results of that, I think. I beat the hell out of them, twisted their minds, one of them I managed to cripple."
He paused, waiting for her to take the opportunity to find another table.

The visions she'd gotten earlier flashed through her mind and the ketchup on her burger reminded her of blood. She stared at it for a moment swallowing hard.
"Yeah, I know what you mean. I've never told anyone but since my mutation I sometimes get weird urges...like...to bite somone or kill pigeons. I'm a bigger fan of blood than I've ever been which is why I hate getting mad. It..confuses me. But at least you can blame your anger on other people. Mine is really all my fault."
She squeezed her burger watching the ketchup rain down and then bit it again.
