The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Absolutely, Juka! Of course you are welcome too if you’d like to dear, you can come to the sanctuary as well and not worry about waitressing and trying to get home, are you staying with any other mutants that need a place? If so we can help them out too."
Was it strange that Abyss seemed to be so nice to him and the blue girl but he was also a viscious remorseless killer? Juka thought so but perhaps he didnt' know as much as he liked to think he knew. Certainly he had never met any murderers before, at least not that he was aware of. Did they all think that they could justify thier actions? At least he would get to see another mutant haven though and for now he couldn't do anything about the deaths anyway.
"There are good people in the world," Juka tried to tell the mutant girl. "I know life can sometimes be tough and its sometimes hard to believe that, but there are." He considered himself a good person and in an odd way he even believed that Abyss was doing good work even if he was going about it in completely the wrong way and going far to far in the work he was doing. But he wasn't really evil even if he sometimes did bad things. Was he?
"I suppose we will go more directly than we thought.
Juka smiled back at Abyss though the smile was still uncertain. He then smiled at Krystal and that smile was far easier and more authentic. "There's hope for people like us," he said. "There has to be. There are people fighting to make the lives of everyone better, mutant and human alike and its tough but I think we're slowly making progress." He turned to follow Abyss wherever it was he led. In his heart he felt just a little guilty because people like Abyss and Krystal had to live confronted with their mutantness every single day without ever having a reprieve from it. Every day they had to deal with the discrimination of humans everywhere and Juka didn't. Maybe had his mutation been of a more visible nature he would turn out to be a different person, but he'd never know for certain.
"that is very true Juka, there is hope for us all, even the humans so long as they open their collective eyes and see the way they toil against the future." Abyss bites back going into a sermon and glances back to the girl. "Lead the way young lady and then we shall travel to the sanctuary.
The Azure teen lead them through a few alleys and finally to the front of a rough looking apartment building, buzzing to be let in she had them wait on the street while she talked to her sisters.
As Abyss waited for the young ladies, he observered the lithe male form before him. You wonder about my methods don't you? truth be told , I question them as well sometimes. leaning against the dirty brick wall he offers half of a smile to the one across from him.
Juka followed the blue girl in his floating bubble, remaining quiet and pensive. Quiet was an unusual state for him but given all that had happened that night, it only seemed natural. There was so much to think about, so much about the world that he hadn't previously considered. Before he had had only the barest glimpses of the darker side of the world, but now he felt he was beginning to truly see things for the way that they actually were. It was...an unusual feeling. He hadn't yet decided if that was a good or a bad thing.
You wonder about my methods don't you? truth be told , I question them as well sometimes.
Juka stopped in front of the building and watched as the young women went inside. He turned his attention back to Abyss as the big red mutant spoke. "You do?" Juka blinked in genuine surprise. The man had seemed so very sure of himself it seemed unusual to even consider the fact that he might question some of his own actions.
"If you question your own methods than why do you continue to do it? Surely there must be some other way in which you can prove your point without actually killing people?"
“Of course I do, I could say it was how I was raised, or maybe even how I wasn’t raised. I Just can’t help but honestly feel that the world is better off with out those two men. Without those that hate us, with out those that would kill a mutant kid just as quick as they’d take me out if they had the chance. Every revolution that has worked thus far has seen someone’s head roll. I don’t know how else I would have managed that situation to a final solution. I can’t leave those mean out their can I?” rubbing his temples. “Its just I can’t seem to find a better solution, so I stick with the brutal one that works. Besides its good to question yourself from time to time, sometimes you don’t like the answers you get.”
Juka carefully considered Abyss' words before summarily throwing them out. That might be a philosophy that would work for him, but it would most certainly not work for Juka. It was one thing to defend innocent mutants, it was quite another to kill someone for a crime that may not even be all that serious, especially if it was possible that they could learn from their actions and become better people for it. Especially if there was a chance that they weren't guilty at all or there were mitigating circumstances that helped explain their actions. "What if you make a mistake?" That was, perhaps, the most important question of all. "What if an innocent dies because you decided to be judge and jury?"
At that moment Krystal came out of the building along with another teenager who Juka assumed must be her sister. The other teenager had black spots, almost like leopard prints, all over her body and small sharp claws. Juka bowed to her and looked towards Abyss for directions on how to get to Sanctuary.
Abyss pursed his lips and opened his mouth to reply with what would be another portion of a premeditated sermon. but the young women walked out and, each with a back pack and ready to go.
Finally a third girl came out of the building, she was an adorable little doll of a girl, pig tails and dressed head to toe in bubblegum pink, perfectly human in every as pect except when she smiled and several tiny rows of needle like teeth appeared. lets go boys, we want to get out before the crazy lady that we got housed with realizes we are gone.not that she could stop us, we just don't want to deal with the drama.
Abyss nodded. right this way ladies, we are a bout seven blocks off, and with the five of us I think we will pass on trying to get a cab. lets head down to the corner and wait for a ride. Abyss started walking down the alley and toward the street, fully expecting the group to follow along. as they went he spoke into a cell phone. Hey Venus, I ran into a friend of yours and I think he might like to see you come pick us up on...seventy seven and apple. Bring something that can drive six all together with ease.
Abyss grinned at Juka, if the young man had a weakness well then Venus knew it better than he'd like to think about, that said perhaps Venus might draw his mind away from te nights sins, the kid seemed shook up.
As the adorable little girl with the pigtails followed her sisters out of the place, Juka vowed that he was not going to forget his questions of Abyss. He would get answers out of him, if not tonight then at a later time. He was not about to let the big red mutant avoid his questions, no indeed.
At the mention of Venus and despite the fact that he still wasn't entirely happy with Abyss and the fact that his questions hadn't all been satisfactorily answered (even if he had a good excuse for the time being), Juka still couldn't' help but grin. He hadn't seen Venus in what seemed for forever and another visit from his darling Prince was long overdue. Maybe Venus would be able to offer some insight about his brother too!
"You read my mind, getting Venus here to pick us all up," Juka stated with a contented expression. He turned his attention to the trio of girls, each with their lovely mutations. "You darlings will simply love Venus. Now he's someone who knows how to treat a proper lady."
Abyss luaghs at Juka's latest comment. I love my brother dearly but he will be treating these three as just that Juka, Ladies. I'm glad I read your mind and it certainly beats making the four of you walking around.
AByss turns to the other three, I bet you my brother shows up in a car that the three of you will like, he has a flair for style.eh Juka? hey, wait a second, are you saying I don't know how to treat a lady?
"Venus couldn't possibly treat anyone badly, could he?" Juka asked. Certainly Venus hadn't treated him any less than perfectly and, even though he assumed Venus must have the same strength that Abyss had shown earlier, somehow he couldn't imagine that particular brother actually hurting anyone intentionally.
"Oh, he most certainly does have style," Juka agreed, nodding happily and grinning at the girls who still seemed a little nervous and unsure about the whole situation. "And I'm sure you can treat a lady just fine, but your no Prince unlike your darling brother, now ere you?" Because no one quite compared to his lovely Prince Venus.
if you are asking if Venus is as casual about things, as I am, no he is not, he takes things seriously and only gets involved when there is too much at risk not too. Oh. I don’t know I am not the prince type, I much prefer the king, so far as titles are concerned. he said with a little wink at Crystal and her sisters.
It was about then that a limo started to pull up to the cirb…his brother was already out and in a limo apparently… well it worked.
The chauffer walked around to the side and opened the door nearest the girls and Juka,
The girls seemed like they weren’t sure if they knew what was going on. A voice so close to Abyss announced the invitation from the car, it was like Abyss’s voice but sewn into silk. “come on in ladies, My brother says we have some new arrivals at the sanctuary that needed a lift.”/
Abyss smiles and nods and the girls run in, he then gestures for the chauffer to go back around and holds the door for Juka.
after you.
The six fit in the back of the limo with ease. And the chauffer already seemed to know the plan as he took off toward the sanctuary, wheeling around toward the appropriate area of town.
Juka realized that he probably couldn't claim to know Venus all that well since they had really only spent a few nights of nocturnal fun together, but he also knew that he would love to get to know Venus better. What Abyss said of his brother seemed to more or less mesh with what Juka knew of him anyway.
Juka waited as patiently as he knew how for the limo to arrive. Before its arrival he made a quick trip to a nearby rooftop depositing his anvils safely away where no one could easily get to them and debubbling once he reached the ground again. Neither anvils nor bubbles really tended to travel well in vehicles, large limo sized vehicles or not.
Juka waved enthusiastically at Venus when he and his limo finally did appear. "My gorgeous red prince, you simply must take care of these darling ladies for me and your brother. And once they are someone safe I demand some quality cuddle time." He winked at his favourite companion.
Juka nodded at Abyss as he held open the door and entered the limo. Entering a limo again was something of a jolt as memories from the past began to surface. When he was still with his wealthy parents limo rides, along with any other type of expensive vehicle, were the norm. Self appointed rock star or not, however, since leaving his parents limo rides had become far less common, pretty much to the point of being non-existent. He simply wasn't a big enough star to be able to afford them.
