The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A blue Aero pulls up to a stretch of buildings and purrs for a moment before before the man inside cut the engine. Kaz was a few miles outside of the concrete jungle of NYC, but not quite yet into the boonies. He took another look around just to make sure he was in the right place. He'd gotten a small idea in his head not too long ago and it had been digging at the back of his mind since then. He knew he should wait to do buy up property until he was ready to move forward, but the price for just one plot of land and the house on it was so low, he wasn't going to let it slip through his fingers.
He stepped smoothly out of the Aero, his specially tailored silver suit, crimson silk shirt, silver shoes, and onyx black tie, fitting him perfectly as his silver hair was pulled back loosely, with a pair of tinted silver sunglasses framed his face. He checked the watch on his left wrist as he made his way up the walkway to the first set of houses to find and speak to the real estate broker.
On his way up, he picked out the smell of barbecued food and the sounds of many people speaking from a location he couldn't see for the moment. 'Heh, reeling people in with food and music so they can sell the land and houses.' He made sure his approach was known to all as his heals clipped solidly against the new concrete sidewalk.
Tyranny wore a black and white power suit , dress thingy, Her hair was pulled up in a tight bun with only a couple strands having escaped to give her self the sexy secretary or librarian look.
Today was, real estate open house crashing day. It came around once a month around this time, it was always fun to meet people that were looking for land and had the money to do so. Currently however she was having to listen to a man named Leonard Lanks go on and on about how this house could be just right for her and her life partner. She had made it clear she was a lesbian to Leonard, even though she was actually open to both sexes. She wasn’t however open to Leonard. It might make flirting with men a bit awkward if it was in front of Leonard, but perhaps he would think well before he showered in cologne, no matter how quality the stuff was.
See what was great about real estate crashing was that typically you only had to pay cab fair to the first one and then you could get picked up but someone wanting a second opinion on residences, if you were clever enough, so an evening of mingling with strangers was catered and hosted by the agency. And for the price of getting to the first stop on the tour.
Her eye caught a stunning blue something pull up at the front of the house and then a more stunning creature step out of the beast of a car….hello, awkward flirting in front of Leonard. The man’s choice of dress was impeccable yet daring. The silver tones were understated by the bold red and black his stride was graceful and confident. She caught her self distractedly agreeing to what ever Leonard had been babbling about.

Only moments had passed since he began walking down the sidewalk when he noticed heads turning towards him to stare along with those who had already been watching his approach. His eyes began to scan the gathered bodies, looking for the one in charge. He hadn't bothered to memorize the man's name, but his face was a different matter. Without slowing his strike Kaz made his way over to the man. Even from ten feet away Kaz could smell the cologne, it wasn't overly strong by itself, but the man had to have taken a bath in the stuff it nearly reeked. He forced himself to keep the disgust from touching his face as he approached.
It took until he was in polite speaking range for Kaz to notice the young woman standing a polite yet wary distance from the man. Kaz couldn't blame her, he could hear him from the time he stepped out of his car, he babbled worse than a toddler, only difference, toddlers usually had better things to say. He didn't miss how she was, and had apparently been, watching him and the expression she wore. Kaz took his glasses off and put them in the pocket on the inside of his suit jacket, next to a few other items. He stopped in front of the two as his crimson eyes took full measure of the woman.
She wore what he could only guess was some sort of jacket, or coat, adapted into a business-like dress/skirt/thing. It left much of her throat exposed as well as a decent amount of leg. Neither was too much, but enough to catch the eye. Kaz lifted his hand toward the woman only a few inches before he felt an odd tingle run up his arm the closer it got to her. He placed his fingers lightly under her chin and lifted slightly as if shutting her mouth and stopping herself from drooling on the ground, and on his shoes. She was attractive, and he was sure she knew it by her clothes and posture, but at the moment he had something to do.
After lowering his left arm, he extended his right to the man, "Kaz Corydon. I understand you're the man to speak to about purchasing a home." He looked around at the buildings that rose from the ground around him. 'It'll be a start.' The man seemed speechless, but only for a moment before he took Kaz's hand in his own. "Yes Sir. Leonard Lanks." His grip was firm and friendly, honed through much practice. He followed Kaz's gaze for a moment, "Did you have anything specific in mind? We have a variety of homes to fit ju.."
Kaz didn't let the man finish his little speech. "I'll take it." Leonard blinked once, twice before recovering. "Ahh," He said as if he had just been clued into a secret, "Which one Sir?" Kaz smirked slightly, "All of them. The land and homes, all of them."
Tyranny blushed lightly as the man’s hand closed her mouth…She was about to react when the man totally dismissed her to do business with Leonard. She allowed him to Finish, with a new air of unimpressed bemusement about her. Which lasted all of five seconds.
~~"Kaz Corydon. I understand you're the man to speak to about purchasing a home." **"Yes Sir. Leonard Lanks.""Did you have anything specific in mind? We have a variety of homes to fit ju.." ~~"I'll take it." ** "Ahh," "Which one Sir?" ~~ "All of them. The land and homes, all of them."
The man was outrageous! All of the houses, he was throwing down some cheddat…there wouldn’t even be a need for an auction if he was buying them all, surely Leo wouldn’t make him work for it. Great, she was going to have to find a new circuit of real estate open houses if her day wasn’t going to be ruined. Then again, perhaps she could salvage the day.
Leonard stunned for a moment…first he had unloaded that Soho place to the big red playboy and now he was selling every lot on his agenda today…things were going to be changing in the Lanks household tonight! “I’ll be right back with some papers to sign Mr.Corydon. I trust you know all the properties you are offering to buy?”
Leonard could hardly wait for an answer as he went for his briefcase.
Tyranny smirked at this Kaz fellow. “Tyranny Jones, First since we are adjusting each others exspresions to what they should properly be.” He hand reached up and brushed Kaz’s lip and then with a single finger dropped Kaz’s jaw. “there we go, that’s much more like it. I hope you aren’t just getting his hopes, He has had a good week, I think you might crush him if you take back your offer now.” A look of recognition then clicked into place. “You wouldn’t happen to be the Corydon of Atlas Munitions?” Tyranny paid attention to who she did business with and recognized a name of a owner when she heard it. that also explained the car and the, effortless buying of multiple pieces of real estate.

Kaz could see the look on the man's face, in his eyes, trying to decide if Kaz was pulling his leg or not. After the shock, it seemed he had decided Kaz was legit in his offer to buy the place. 'I trust you know all the properties you are offering to buy?' He spoke hurriedly before moving as fast as his station allowed him and still keep his dignity. The answer to the man's question was very simple, Not one bit. But it didn't matter, he had seen the prices of a few of the properties and the number of houses and took a rough estimate and merely shrugged inwardly.
"Tyranny Jones," The woman to his left spoke, and caught Kaz's attention. He smirked slightly as she lifted her hand and adjusted his expression to her liking. It was different and he chuckled softly. 'Fair's fair.' He thought to himself. Raising an eyebrow at the woman, he looked her over again and a thought occurred to him, maybe she was his secretary. The outfit seemed to fit the bill. "Don't worry Ms. Jones, the offer is genuine. I don't know if I'll keep the houses as they are, but I am not pulling his leg." He paused and looked toward where the man had run off, "It doesn't look like his heart could take it if I was."
Kaz caught it the moment her expression changed slightly, like a light going on, just before she said something that truly made his jaw drop open a slight bit. “You wouldn’t happen to be the Corydon of Atlas Munitions?” His mouth was only open for a few moments before it shut again and he fixed her with a level gaze, wall almost, his eyebrow rose in a curiously. "I must say, I'm not use to people knowing that, especially those I haven't met in person before." He turned to face her squarely as he began to listen to the goings on around him more than he had been. He hooked his left thumb onto his belt, which lifted up his suit jacket by his hand just slightly, though it was enough to be able to reach either of the small firearms he had placed in his waistband or one of the two daggers he had in sheathes in his waistband. The motion was quite natural as he shifted his weight to rest mostly on his left leg. "Which means you've...we've done business before. Mind if I ask what exactly?" Kaz's tone was curious and friendly, but he knew, one way or another, he'd find out.
~~"Tyranny Jones," "Don't worry Ms. Jones, the offer is genuine. I don't know if I'll keep the houses as they are, but I am not pulling his leg." "It doesn't look like his heart could take it if I was."
“Well, lets hope his heart survives success as much as it does disappointment.” She knew way to much about the life of Leonard Lanks.
“You wouldn’t happen to be the Corydon of Atlas Munitions?”
His mouth dropping added a little smirk that stayed on her face and would more than likely remain there.
~~"I must say, I'm not use to people knowing that, especially those I haven't met in person before."
Her stance changed as his did, naturally as they went.
"Which means you've...we've done business before. Mind if I ask what exactly?"
“Oh nothing to big, You simply supply a single new York girl with the best protection she can buy. I try to know as much as I can about a company I do continued business with.” She revieled something of herself that she wouldn’t have normally done, but how could the owner of such a company look down on making use of its product.

"Oh?" The short word was laced with curiosity as he looked in the direction Leonard had went. "A curious statement there." Kaz had assumed the two hadn't really known each other by the bland look Tyranny had worn as he had neared them. Perhaps she was more familiar with him than he had guessed.
She had a cute little smirk, with a hint of...sass, mixed in. Add how she followed his shift in stance in a perfectly natural way with one of her own made Kaz begin to look at her a bit differently. "Civilian grade I'll venture to guess..." He trailed off as he stepped to the woman's left and continued around her. "I can't see a," A pause to see if he could find the correct word, failing he continued, his eyes drawn to her legs as he stood behind her, "Secretary or Assistant? needing too much. Perhaps personal security?" He finished his little walk around and again placed his weight on his left leg, in the same manner as before. "You have me curious to find out what else you know about my company and I." Kaz spoke with a smirk of his own as he looked into her green eyes.
He didn't let it show, but as he walked around the woman he had moved closer and further away by inches here and there, the tingling sensation on his left side seemed to move further along his body, or recede depending on how close or far he was from her. It was a very curious sensation that he had never experienced before, he had no idea what it was, not even a hint. It was intriguing, but also put the itch of caution into his mind. The only idea he had that he could think to explain it, was some sort of ability, a mutant.

~~"Oh?" "A curious statement there."
“The ring on his left ring finger says he’s spoken for, yet I have turned down three of his date offers.”
~~"Civilian grade I'll venture to guess..." "I can't see a," "Secretary or Assistant? needing too much. Perhaps personal security?"
“Do you sell Civilian grade?” she said with doe eyes feigning innocence. Yes, her guns were civilian grade, but some of the ammo and modifications she had purchased and implemented herself were not. “actually, I’m a nurse by day. But regardless, nurse, secretary or assistant any woman in this city these days could use a bit of extra defence.
"You have me curious to find out what else you know about my company and I."
“I know about some of the philanthropy, some of the history, not enough about you, though I tend to take what is read about a person with a grain of salt, I much prefer the real thing instead.” She studied him, her head turning as he circled her. He was a mutant she was pretty sure, or at least a human with a few oddities, He was much too graceful to be a mere man.
Now she had to figure out if she cared or not…how had she gone from ruthless to relating to mutants…yes she realized that not all of them could be responsible for that blood bath of a brawl a couple years ago at King pharmacuticals, but someone had to be!
She smirked as he finished his three hundred and sixty degree view of her and she offered that same wry smirk. “not too shabby eh?”

"... he’s spoken for....turned down three of his date offers."
Kaz didn't hide his distaste for that and made a disgusted sound to accompany it. It wasn't even voluntary, but reactionary and ingrained in him. "Damned Pig" He all but spat the word as if it were a piece of rotten food. It seemed they were familiar, and the man wanted to become more familiar with her. Kaz's mind brought an image to him of punching the prig in the face, breaking his nose.
Her tone and feigned innocence was too much to keep Kaz's mind annoyed. A soft short laugh, "Yeah, we do have some civilian grade items." Kaz's mind went back in time, years before, to the night he lost Judy, he remembered how much it hurt him, and still did at times, but he had mostly gotten over it. None of the emotion nor the memory showed outwardly. "You are right about that, every little bit does help. Though if you don't know how to use it, it'll do ya no good. Might as well be walking around naked if that's the case."
"....I much prefer the real thing instead." He smiled. "Really, hmm. I should hope to make a decent first impression then." Her next words and the smile gave her a look of satisfaction and confidence. Leaning back a bit, he tilted his head to the side, "Not at all. Ya know, I think I can definitely see the nursing thing workin for ya." He couldn't stop himself from chuckling a bit.
They hadn’t been familiar with each other before thirty minutes ago, but that was just the kind of person Tyranny was, a few sentences and you were old friends.
~~"Damned Pig"
“Damned Lonely Pig, I’d say. From the sounds of it, a divorce would uncomplicated life.”
~~"Yeah, we do have some civilian grade items."
“What, the holsters?” she couldn’t resist a second Jab at the munitions owner.
~~ "You are right about that, every little bit does help. Though if you don't know how to use it, it'll do ya no good. Might as well be walking around naked if that's the case."
“oh I know my way around a handgun. Though the guns help to have when I go streaking as well.” Not that she had spent enough time to not be worried about playing William tell, with the twins…the twins of course being her weapons of choice. She allowed her cheeks to color a bit with embarrassment.
~~"....I much prefer the real thing instead." He smiled. "Really, hmm. I should hope to make a decent first impression then."
“That makes two of us.” She said with a light airy chuckle.
~~"Not at all. Ya know, I think I can definitely see the nursing thing workin for ya."
She slapped his shoulder lightly, “ I don’t wear the mini white dress with the red cross to work.” She sounded insulted for the first part of her ploy. “Anymore.” She ended in a laugh and a wink.
Leonard hovered in the background, if he had learned anything over the years you didn’t interrupt a client that was becoming more amiable, If Tyranny refused him a lunch date that was fine so long as she kept the man with the blank check happy. He took a sip of water and loosened his tie a fraction of a inch…should he have worn more cologne?

"Hm, easier for who? You or him?" It seemed Tyranny was much more tolerant and understanding with the man than Kaz was or would be in her position. He wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. The girl had wits he thought as he snorted, "Yeah, holsters for starters, tasers, mace, nail files, clippers, and purses too." He gave her a mirthful smile that said, 'smartass'.
"Streaking...with holsters and guns as the only 'clothing'. Doesn't leave much to the imagination, but I wonder who would complain." The girl knew how to keep a guy interested, he had to admit that to himself. "Well so far so good I'd say." Kaz hadn't gotten the least bit bored since he arrived. Then she lightly hit his shoulder, the tingling shot across and down his arm, and into his chest and back and partway up his neck. 'What the hell is that?!' He thought to himself.
"Aww, that's too bad, I'm sure you would give your patients quite a rise if you did." He winked at her before looking past her at Leonard. The man seemed to have gotten things together but hung back to give Tyranny and himself room to chat semi-privately. He gave Tyranny a look of business as he indicated with his head and body language in Leonard's direction. "Leonard, I see you have things ready." Kaz reached into the right inside pocket of his suit jacket and pulled out his checkbook. As the man made his way over Kaz began filling out the check. It was old fashioned and relatively useless considering he could have the money wired over to the account, but Kaz kind of enjoyed it, it had a flair to it, and an effect on people, that little else did or could match. After taking the check out, he put the checkbook away and held his hand out for the paperwork. It wouldn't take long to fill out, he'd still have most of his day left free it seemed.
“Um, him, I’d have no regardless. I can only breath so much cologne before I test it, she said quietly.”
~~"Yeah, holsters for starters, tasers, mace, nail files, clippers, and purses too."
“oh, I did see the made to carry purses, very nice.” ‘carry’ being the term for keeping a weapon.
~~"Streaking...with holsters and guns as the only 'clothing'. Doesn't leave much to the imagination, but I wonder who would complain."
“The same person who was the first to get shot of course. Imagination is a poor imitation of tangibility.”
~~"Well so far so good I'd say."
~~"Aww, that's too bad, I'm sure you would give your patients quite a rise if you did." She grew up around guys that spoke their mind, and with a body like hers she had plenty of crude thoughts spoken. Kaz at least had the decency to wrap his statements in innuendo.”
“they have wondering hands as it is. Besides I don’t think their insurance could pay enough for that sort of coverage.” she stated light heartedly.
With out a word she gave a slight nod, As expected a man of his caliber would see to business and see it finished. She might have been offened had they been in a bar and he was making eyes at someone else, but this what the open house was all about.
~~"Leonard, I see you have things ready."
^^“Yes, Sir Mr. Corydon
He held out the paper work and pointed to the few places he would need to sign. He then looked to the check book with respect; He was a bit old fashioned in the way he did business as well. The commission on this sell was going to be epic.

Kaz filled out the paperwork in short order, at most three minutes had passed. He didn't skip one word, though a lot of the jargin he didn't quite understand, though it bothered him little. Kaz looked over everything one last time before handing it back to Leonard. "I'm sure it'll take some time for all the paperwork to go through and be finalized. Leave me a message when it's complete. I'll send my people in to check things over at that time." While their business was basically completed, Kaz decided to finalize it as he held his hand out to Leonard.
He turned his attention back to Tyranny, fully dismissing Leonard. "Now I don't mean to pry, but I'm quite curious. From what you've said," Kaz looked around, making it obvious he looked at a few of the lot prices, "What brings you out here?"

“Open houses, in general, are fascinating, so much potential in every one for all sorts of things, they might house a family of twelve and fil these rooms til they burst. or a hermit might inhabit one and fill it with paper bound knowledge and never leave, the house may be filled with romance or malice. They might be bought up and torn down, turned into a parking lot or a park. My imagination loves to look at each house and dress it up with what would look perfect where. Not to mention the people that run about looking for homes, each with a bit of shiny-eyed hope at the very prospect of owning a building, a little rectangle of the world that would belong only to them.”
She moved about the house now that he was done, expecting that she would follow if he wanted to hear what she had to say.
“May I ask what you intend on doing with them? will a building go up to hold tools of war?”

Kaz tilted his head a bit as he listened to Tyranny. To his slight surprise, he found himself looking out across the people gathered near the houses, chatting and eating with each other. His keen ears picked up conversations from all around, things he had long ago trained himself to turn into background noise and ignore, at least until he wanted to hear it. Kaz had never thought what Tyr said, but as he listened, he heard things very similar to what she said.
Without thinking about it, Kaz kept pace with Tyr as they began to walk the houses. Each face he looked at, each voice he heard out there, he couldn't help but feel he was the only mutant in the immediate area. He heard the woman's question, stopped and turned towards the gathered people. He looked her in the eyes, "Look at them, and yourself," His tone level as he motioned to the humans. "Humans are so privlaged. You can go about your lives, from the day your born, to the day you die, with relatively little worry. Economy and bad luck aside, you don't generally have to worry about jobs, homes, or food. Not like us. Some of us, like myself, are lucky...or, made our own luck, and we got out, rose above all that, there aren't many of us that are lucky Tyranny."
Kaz looked back to the woman after looking around at the homes. "I have no idea how or if I'll be able to do it, but if possible, I want to make a community for mutants, help them get jobs, schooling, etc., where it doesn't matter what they are. That gives them the same chances as any human." He let out a small chuckle at himself before shrugging slightly and looking her in the eyes. "You asked." He said with a light tone.
