The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tarin said that he was going to be terrified the whole time too. That, actually, made Lee feel a bit better. Not much, definitely not much, but a little bit. If he was going to be that worried and scared, then he was definitely realizing just how much could go wrong. And hopefully they would be able to come up with as many precautions as they could for it.
Axel was there, snuggling up in the small amount of space that was between them. The very small amount of space between them.
But what about her? "Yeah, we should probably try figuring out what happened," she said with a slight nod. "I don't want to hurt you again like I did today."
What did it feel like, though? Lee thought back. Most of what she had felt had really just been shock at seeing Tarin flying across the room. Was there anything else that she had felt with it? "I'm not sure," Lee said slowly. "I wanted to put a bit more distance, in case you tried putting another hold on me. So I pushed you. I'm really not sure what else I felt at the time other than shock. I have a lot less energy now than I did before, though, which is really weird."

He said he was terrified and that made Lee feel better. Tarin shook his head, reminding himself once again that he was never going to understand women. Hearing that the person doing the experimentation was terrified would have worried Tarin more not made him feel better.
Lee was comfortable changing the subject though, and Tarin shifted slightly on the couch, as she nodded her head and they moved back to the subject of what had happened earlier. It was weird to be talking about it again, considering the fact that all they’d done for the last few hours was talk about what had happened. This was the first time they’d been able to talk alone since the labs, though and Tarin nodded his head thoughtfully when Lee said that she didn’t want to hurt him like that again.
“It was an accident Lee.” He said softly, wrapping his arms around his wife and squeezing her for a moment before letting up the pressure. “If anyone understads that, I do.” The words should have been more than enough to get the sentiment across. Tarin knew better than anyone that powers weren’t always controllable. He let it go, though, his mind drifting when Lee pointed out that she was still tired.
“That really is strange, Lee…with all the people we’ve been around, I’d think you’d be bouncing off the walls by now.”
She’d been trying to put more distance between them, he’d flown across the room, but Lee didn’t think she’d pushed him all that hard. Tairn frowned, shiftin again on the couch and apparently irritating the little dog enough that he scrambled down off the couch and back into the kitchen. Tarin frowned, watching him leave and still mulling over what Lee had told him and shaking his head. “It doesn’t make much sense, does it? I guess since you’re tired we have to assume that whatever you did used it up.”
They’d talked about thati n the elevator, Tarin grinned slightly as he remembered the wink the old lady had given him. One hand dropped to Lee’s ankle and slid up to her knee and back, “About that whole energy thing….” He said, tightening the arm around her waist, “Maybe we should take advantage and call it an early night, sleep on it, and talk more tomorrow.”
Lee simply nodded when Tarin pointed out that it was strange that she was feeling tired. Hell yeah, it was strange. She shouldn't be feeling tired; not even counting the number of people they had been around, she had been touching Tarin more than enough to keep her from feeling tired. But she was. It was as if that hadn't happened, though Lee knew that it had.
But Tarin thought that whatever it was she had done, though neither of them were still exactly sure what it could have been, had used up all that extra energy she had had while they were in the dojo.
Then Tarin suggested that maybe, since she was feeling rather more worn out that they should head to bed early that night. Though, with how it felt as his hand was running up her leg there, it didn't sound like he was planning on going to sleep early.
"Yeah, I suppose we could do that," Lee replied with a slight smile as she felt Tarin's arm tightening around her waist. "We probably won't be figuring anything else out tonight, anyway."

Lee also thought it was a good idea to sleep on everything and try to talk more out in the morning. Tarin grinned when she said it, and at the small smile on her face. “Well then…” he said, taking the opportunity to slip his arm under Lee’s legs and scoop her up as he stood. He’d thought it before, and as he walked, he thought it again. It was so easy to forget just how little Lee was. They fought, they sparred, and Lee beat him a good 98% of the time, but it was still easy for him to bend and scoop her up in his arms and carry her as he walked. It was almost an oxymoron.
Axel was still out and running around and he danced around Tarin’s feet as he tried to carry Lee into their bedroom. The little dog was just going to have to stay out for the night, because there was no way that Tarin was going to move far enough away from Lee to do everything that needed done to be sure the little dog was where he was supposed to be. Into the room they went, and Tarin pushed the door shut with his foot, the puppy on the other side and ignoring Lee’s protestations about the fact. On he flipped the light with his elbow and further into the room he went to deposite Lee in the middle of the bed.
She was tired, and Tarin smiled slightly as he went about getting lights off and clothes off and climbing boxer clad into bed. Lee had finished her night-time routiene as she waited for him, and as he climbed under the covers, he pulled her close and nuzzled into her hair. “Night time is burning.” He whispered, pulling her closer. “Let’s get some sleep.” Maybe it wasn’t exactly what Lee had expected, but it was so rare they actually got to sleep together like this, Tarin wasn’t going to miss out on the chance.
