The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

James walked across the grounds, he had a black duffel bag in one hand, and dark sunglasses over his eyes, he scanned the area, getting an idea of how the layout is, in case he needed to make a speedy exit. Jame's mind was concentrating on whether everything was ready, he had gotten his past in order, but if the government hadn't prepared his past yet, he would be found out quickly. As far as anyone knew he was a new teacher of psychology, a little joke the government decided to make, but James had to go with it. James had been paying attention to the news reguarding mutants, and he couldn't help wonder why they wanted him to go in undercover. Whatever they wanted was important enough for them to not only pull him out of retirement, but pay him double his normal rate.
A stranger at the front of the mansion caught the cat girls keen eyes and drew on her curiousity. He was carrying a balck duffle bag and had shades on as well. Was he a new student? Well, she had to go ask.
Making her way across the grounds she stopped in front of the man. "Hello!" she said with a smile. "Are you a new student here?" Nika looked the man over more closely. He had a strange scent that she couldn't quite place.
Extenting her right hand out she introduced herself. "I'm Nika. What's your name?"
James rose an eyebrow as the girl approached "Thats certainly different" he thought as he looked at the half girl half cat.
"No no, I'm a new teacher here, my names is James." he said holding his hand out to shake her's. Whoever this girl was she seemed trusting, hopefully everyone else was as nice.
Shaking the man's hand and hearing him introduce himself Nika smiled again. "Oh wow a new teacher? What do you teach? I'm not really in any of the classes right now, but then I've only been here a short time." Nika continud to look the man over.
"Psychology" James said as he started to walk towards the front door again, from what he could tell the mansion was huge, and he figured he needed to know everything about it, as soon as possible. "Really? so how is the school so far?"
"Ohh, I don't know much about that subject." Nika walked along side James as they made their way to the front door.
When James inquired about Nika's impression of the school so far the cat girl gestured to the mansion and pointed out the recent damage it had endured. "Well, it seems to be holding up pretty well."
"Wow looks like it" he said inspecting the damage. By now they had reached the front door, James opened the door up and looked inside, everything looked alright as he walked in, a few people were off to the side talking, but nothing important. "So what happened?"
"Well, I'm not really sure to be honest. So I'm not sure how to explain it." Nika didn't want to say that her friend had gone crazy and was partially responsible for the damage. Nor did she want to say that others too caused damage to the school. Instead she returned to her cheerful self and smiled big. "We're getting things fixed and people are still showing up so that's a good thing."
"well as long as everyone is ok now." James said with an up lifting tone. James looked all around the room, the place was huge, he could understand why people would want to live here. "What about you? what's your story?" Quinn was thinking about what the next step was, and how he should proceed.
"Yeah everyone is doing ok now. Just a few bumps and bruises I think." Nika continued to walk next to James. So far he seemed ok.
"Well, I was disowned by my parents at birth and I was adopted by a man who treated me more like a pet than a person. He would bet on me in pit fits that he would hold at his home until I escaped finally and now I'm here." Though Nika's past was very dark and sad she spoke about it in her usual cheerful tone.
James stopped walking with a surprised look on his face "Jesus, who is that screwed up?" he thought about Nika's past "Heard to believe someone would treat somebody so badly."
James was jerked from his thoughts when the girl asked about his past, he immediately remembered his scripted past. "Me? oh not nearly as dramatic, I grew up in a normal family, I was able to hide my mutations from anyone until I was older. It came up when I was a psychology teacher at a small high school in Virginia, when they found out about my powers the parents freaked, eventually the high school let me go, not wanting to deal with the trouble."
James remembered the small tricks of a believable past, he knew telling a good story helped to calm people. "Heh, after they found out I had a bit of a run in with one of the parents in a bar. I was sitting alone at the bar, it was pretty calm, a little music was playing. All of a sudden the man came up behind me, I could tell he was drunk, the smell of whiskey was all over him. He started threatening me, calling me a freak and such. It seemed like it was going to escalate when out of no where a waitress fell into the man, spilling drinks all over him, I snuck out when his attention was on her."
The girl smiled a bit as the man seemed to symapthize with her. She then listened to his story. It sounded like most of the rest of the people at the mansion. "So what's your mutation then?"
This was the easy part for James, he didn't have an actual mutation, though he was enhanced thanks to his nano-machines. That's probably why they sent him in. "My mutation enhanced my natural ability, senses, speed, strength. Although it isn't fully developed, since I have spent most of my life trying to hide it. What about you? obviously you have the whole cat woman thing going for you, has it given you any other abilities?"
So he had some of the same abilities she had although hers were mostly from being part cat. But it was still nice to have something in common. "Well, other than my physical appearance I too have those abilities, but my biggest mutation is I can boost my abilities like ten times when my adrenaline kicks in. I can be a ball of fury." Nika giggled a little.
"Cool." James said, it was good to know what her powers were, in case anything happened. "I probably should talk to whoever is in charge of new people around here, who would that be?" he asked the girl, it seemed as though she knew alot about the place.
