The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(For the sake of keeping things much less complicated, we'll say this takes place just after Iris's haywire)
Looking in on the grounds from outside the gates, the place seemed slightly in chaos. The grounds seemed torn up, wet, and there were only a couple people out on the grounds, who seemed to be cleaning up damage or running somewhere in a hurry.
It was midday, and the sun was shining brightly, without a cloud in the sky and those who where out in the yard would notice something very strange on the horizon. A small black dot in the vast blue sky would appear, just over the gates, and slowly grew in size. After a while, one would realize this was actually a person, who seemed to be clutching onto a regular red balloon, about the size of her head, using it to ride the wind.
This would of course seem quite strange, and slightly surreal. As she approached the front gate she slowly descended until she landed lightly onto the pavement. She was a very small and lithe girl of Asian decent. She was dressed quite strangely. She was wearing a plaid skirt with a studded belt, and was warring big leather boots, which looked quite strange on her small form. She wore a plain white tang-top, which was ripped in places, and her long black hair was done up in a knot atop her head.
She scanned the ground with her strikingly blue eyes. Her face seemed filled with childish interest, as she desperately tried to peer through the gates to get a better look.
"Hmmm I think this is the right place?"
She didn't see anyone coming, and she didn't want to seem rude marching right in. It was of course a very special private property from what she had heard.
"Well, I guess I'll sit right here!" She said to herself with far too much enthusiasm for such a mundane conclusion.
She tugged on the balloon a little, which seemed to drop slightly, as though it had become buoyant in midair. She turned her back on it, and surprisingly sat on it with her full weight. The balloon amazing held her suspended in the air, and with what seemed like limitless balance, she crossed her legs and leaned back, glancing around with great interest of her surroundings.
Fade had spent her day cursing under her breath for her lack of ability control. It was a newly discovered power, although she had it all along and she was not used to it. So far, she had managed to phase her shoulder through her black cami and now the spaghetti straps seemed to just disappear mid shoulder as they formed under her skin. Her right shoe had also been a victim and the sole was on her ankle as her clawed feet stuck through the under part. Along with clothing articles, her red hair was stuck in her collar bone and in a pitiful attempt to get it out, she cut her hair shorter than shoulder-length and now had a clump of random hair.
Seeing the new arrival out at the gates, she looked down at the clump of red hair and turned it invisible along with both of her shoes. Nothing she could do about her cami though, so it stayed as it was. Walking up to the newbie, she opened the gates and spoke. "Hello. My name is Jenny McCullen, how may I help you?" Growl. She hated using her human name, only two mutants got away with using it and those were Raph and Tric, no one else would dare call her Jenny.
However, for safety purposes, she had to appear more human than usual, which meant hiding her raptor-like claws and attempting to cover up her awkward spaghetti strap. All in vain, obviously the newbie was a mutant as well, however, safety first, right? She'd been trying to adapt that. Then again, the sling around her shoulder due to her broken collar bone and the bruises she now carried screamed 'safety is for losers...' Who said redheads can't be hypocritical?

Naomi, nearly didn't notice when the red-head walked up to the gate and opened it.
"Oh!"
Namoi jumped of her baloon excitedly, the baloon itself , shoting out from underneath her and shooting into the sky like a rocket. However, Naomi didn't seem to notice.
"Hello! My name is Naomi Ming! Nice to meet you Jenny!"
Naomi put her hands together in prayer fasion, closed her eyes and bowed low. She stood up strait with a bi smile on her face.
Fade watched the girl jump off of the baloon and watched as it floated off into the sky without a look of surprise. OK, so the girl was a mutant, that was for sure, and she knew that Xavier's was a place for mutants. Safe enough. Right?
"Yes, this is the place. Welcome, Naomi." She said, nodding her head in a response to Naomi's bow, it was so that she wouldn't be rude by not replying or by bowing in a manner that she did not know of, so a head nod was good enough. "Are you looking for a secure location to stay?" She asked. Members of The Order had been known to come in and out of the mansion as spies of some sort, so better to question the girl than to leave her in the dark.
"By the way, I rarely go by Jenny, my human alias when necessary. You may call me Fade." She smiled. The girl did not seem dangerous at all, but Fade knew of even young, innocent mutants that had little control over their powers, such as the little Night Light. If this girl was looking to stay, she would need to be questioned about her powers just as Fade was when she first walked through the mansion gates over a year ago.

"Are you looking for a place to stay?"
"No no no, nothing like that. I an take care of myself rather well actually."
She smiled politely.
"Fade. I came here to help people. I have hear a couple people say, that people here help mutants, and I want to become one of those persons. Are you one of those people Fade?"
She leaned strangely closer to fade looking her over carefully with a kind of childish awe. It would be hard for Fade to belive Naomi was actually in her twenties.
Fade nodded to the girl and then looked down at her toes for a split second before noticing that everything was still invisible, she rolled her eyes at the invisible shoe and stopped focusing, allowing the tuff of hair, her shoe and her strap to be quite visibly phase-stuck.
"Well, I am both. I have no way of living on my own so I am provided her with a more than comfortable living arrangement and in return, I help other mutants with their powers and I protect them. It is too small of a price to pay for a fresh start." She shrugged. It was true, though, in Fade's opinion. The fact that she had not had a home since she was like 4 suggested quite a few things, so around a year and a half's time of living at the mansion has proven to be much more accomidating than 12 years on the streets.
"Before I can bring you to the headmistress, I must ask what your powers are and any side-effects that you may have encountered. I also must ask if you have belonged to a prior organization." Fade was just being secure, wouldn't want another Order member to get in.

Noami looked curiousely at the womans hair shoes, and her shirt strap, as they suddenly apeared. Naomi wasn't sure if it looked painful or not. The girl seemed to be fine, even though stuff seemed to be stuck in and out of her. It didn;t bother her that much though, mostely because Fade didn't seem to be all that bothered by it. When asked about her powers, she looked around quickly.
"Hmmm lets see, well... I geuss the best way to explain it is that I can make things heavier, or lighter... here."
Naomi pointed to a pebble on the ground, and focused on it carefully. Suddenly, it would float upward, like a ballon, and she would catch it in her hand. She would then gently take fades arm, and hold place the pebble in the palm of her hand. It would feel like holding a feather for a second, and then slowely, become heavier and heavier, until it reached nearly ten pounds. Naomi made sure to do this slowely, so as not to hurt fade.
"I'm not really sure what the side effects would be. I have pretty good control over it. I geuss the only way I could really brea anything or hurt anyone is if I did something stupid on purpose... which I do occationally do..."
Naomi smiled and giggled alittle, trying to downplay what she had just said. In truth, she was accually a total dits. Which was why she made sure never to use her powers too often when doing simple things. However, the fact that she was a show off as well, usually conflicted with that.
Fade watched as the pebble floated up into the air and landed in her hand and then smiled when the pebble was placed in her hand as it began to gain weight. "Very nice." So it was good that she had not encountered any side effects. After the pebble had reached maximum weight for Fade's sore body to handle at the present moment, she allowed it to drop to the ground. "Hope you don't mind." She added as not to be rude.
"Ha, well, we all have our moments." She laughed, referring to the fact that Naomi had mentioned that she did stupid things on purpose. "Take these for example." She lifted her foot and showed her phase-stuck shoe, then pointed to the tuff of hair and then at her spaghetti strap. "Then again, these were accidental, I didn't mean to phase through them...and now they are stuck." In frustration, she pulled on her tuff of hair and it phased, ever so slightly, now it was only half-way in her broken collar bone.
"What about past organizations? Have you been a loner?" She asked, noticing that Naomi had skipped the question, whether on purpose or on accident, it did not answer, but Fade needed to make sure.
((Not quite sure if I mentioned that she had a sling on but she's supposed to have one...))

"Yes. In fact, the only other mutants I've ever seen where the ones who got arrested in our country. I lived most of my life making sure no one realised what I was..."
She recalled vividly the ransacking of peoples homes. She had seen many people leave her naborhood, handcuffed, and driven off in black cars, never to be seen again. People who she had never of geuss were just like her. In fact, she was sure they where just innocent bistanders. As she slipped back to reality from her dark remenissing, she forced a smile of her face once again.
"My country doesn't seem to be dealing mutants much better than yours... but no, I've never been apart of any organizations..."
"Good, good." She said, referring to the fact that Featherweight had never been in a separate organization. "We have quite a few organizations up here in New York and we each have the same goal and different ways of acheiving that goal." She nodded, allowing Naomi to enter the grounds now that her questions had been answered.
"The Headmistress is currently sick, so I am not quite sure when it is that you can get in to see her, but I am sure that the wait will not be too long. She will give you more information and try and help you. What I can do at this moment is set you up with a room, if you choose to stay here. I can also give you a tour and introduce you to some others that you could possibly help." Fade began to walk forward and sighed as suddenly, her foot completely phased through the shoe and she left it behind in the grass. With an aburpt stop, she backed up, put her foot back in her shoe and then continued to walk with the new woman.
"So you are not from America? Where are you from then?" She asked, keeping her pace steady.

"China," She answered dismissivly, "Left not too long ago, and came strait here. As for a room, I'd love to be able to stay here."
She followed Fade into the grounds, and got a much better view of the building and surounding area. The place seemed huge to her, and she wondered how easy it was to get lost in such a large place. She stopped briefly when she realised Fade had left her field of vision, and siffled a giggle as she turned and watched her push it back on her foot. She knew it wasn't very nice to make fun of things people didn't have control over. She quickly changed the subject.
"I hope the headmistress feels better soon. Um, I'd would love a tour of this place though. It seems very large and easy to get lost in!"
"Wow, really? And mutants were taken from their homes like that? Scary thought. I never had much of a home to be taken from, but I guess that is not such a good alternative." She shrugged. Usually, speaking about her past made her feel uneasy, but now it took no side-effects and she could non-chalantly mention anything she felt.
When she heard Naomi giggle, Fade smiled lightheartedly. "Yeah, still trying to get used to this whole phasing thing." She sighed, pointing to the random tuff of hair. It was quite annoying to see out of the corner of her eye, so she attempted to make it invisible, which caused it to sink further into her skin instead and become lost, it was probably in her lung or something...nope, she could feel it slowly phasing through her body until she saw it left behind in one of her footprints.
"She is a tough woman, she will be fine. As for the tour, where would you like to start? Possibly I could show you to your room and you can put down your things?" Fade said as she fumbled with her spaghetti strap.

"That sounds like a great idea!"
Naomi didn't actually have much with her. That was an understatment. The only thing she owned was her purse, which had all the money she owned, and identification. But it didn't matter to her. She wanted to see where she would be staying. The idea of haveing her own room excited her. However, as she followed fade into the mansion and to the living quarters, she saw more and more evidance of damage and turmoil.
Fade kind of laughed. "Yes, this poor mansion has been through alot. Details are hard to explain and if you do, in fact, choose to stay, than you might be involved as well, only if you choose it." She smiled as she walked down the hallways.
Finally, she stopped at a door and opened it before stepping inside of the office. Her currently silver eyes surveilled the area before picking up a folder and opening it. Scanning over the areas, she found a room located in the adult section and non-student area and put it down. "OK, so do you wish to have a room mate or remain to your privacy? Because we do have an open room, well, plenty, but it is where most of the adults stay, unless you wish to have a roomie, in which case, we shall have to find you one."

Naomi thought about what Fade had said. If she chose to stay, she could choose to be apart of it. Though it occurred to her through the damage that she meant being apart of some kind of fighting, it didn't unnerve her at all. The fact that she would be given a chance to use her powers to help others, instead of hiding them in secret, made he feel all the more determined to stay here and help. It was all she could think about as they made their way to the office. At Fades question, Naomi painted a picture of herself being alone in a room, in a new country in her head. She didn't like the idea at all.
"I'd love to have a room mate. I don't know much about the United States, and I could always have someone to talk to practice my English."
