The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Walking towards the gate, without any type of transportation, at first glance it seemed as if Aurica was hallucinating. She had never seen any picture of the school, nor did she know any exact location. Limping with a cloak covering her up, she kept walking towards the gate, hoping that it was the real thing. Aurica, her left eye twitching and right eye completely closed, slowly held her hand up and kept walking towards the gate.
Please be it... please be it...
Right when she got in front of the gate, Aurica tried to stop her body, which she did, but she didn't stop her head, which ended up making contact with the gate, sending her to the ground on her back, rubbing her forehead.
Tricity hurried across the ground with Johnathon after he radioed her about someone collapsing near the gates. She mentally opened the gates and knelt down near the stranger. It was teenage girl and she didn't look in good condition.
"Damn... Are you ok?" Johnathon asked, looking over the girl.
Tricity leaned over the guest. "Hello, my name is Tricity and I'm the Headmistress here. Are you hurt? Do you need medical attention?"
Aurica just slowly opened one eye as she saw a man and a woman who went by the name of Tricity. She closed her eye and started sitting up, still rubbing her head. Trying to speak, she really had no strength left since she hadn't had anything to eat really. Aurica opened her eyes again and looked right at Tricity.
"...I...I don't need medical attention. Besides the bump on my head, I'm not really hurt. It's just that I'm..."
Before she could even finish saying her sentence, her stomach growled. She gave off that kind of embarassed smile with her eyes closed, now rubbing the back of her head.
Tricity gave a reassuring smile and nodded for Johnathon to help her help the girl up. "Ok, let's get you something to eat then, shall we?" She put her hands on the girl's arms and helped her up. Johnathon was already eyeing the guest as he always did with any new girl that came by. Tricity gave him the evil eye as she opened the doors to the mansion and stepped inside.
"The kitchen is this way." They turned a couple corners and went into the large room. She motioned for the girl to sit at the island as Johnathon opened the fridge. "So, what's your name?"
"And what kind of sandwich tickles your fancy?" Johnathon asked, looking over the coldcuts.
Her smile was so big as she cupped her hands together like she was about to pray, sparkles in her eyes. Aurica had took a deep breath, then let it out, not to get too excited, because only God knows what would have happened around her if she did. She calmed herself down, and turned towards Johnathon with a slight smile.
"Well... do you possibly have any turkey?"
Aurica turned once again to Tricity to answer her question. She couldn't really figure it out, but there was something about Tricity that just felt like she could tell her anything. Aurica just felt so reassured and safe around her.
"My name's Aurica. Aurica Arsellec. Though some people will call me Aura for short, or just call me by my middle name, Destiny. I came here because I saw something in the paper about this School for Gifted Youngsters. I'm just hoping it's the type of school I'm thinking of..."
Aurica slightly turned her head, putting it down just a bit, with little hope that it was a school for Mutants like herself.
Johnathon began pulling turkey and cheese from the fridge, dropping some bread down from the break basket as well before dumping it all on the island. He began slicing the bread and looking up at the girl every now and again.
She introduced herself and told them of her finding of the school. "...I came here because I saw something in the paper about this School for Gifted Youngsters. I'm just hoping it's the type of school I'm thinking of..."
Tricity mentally began blinking the lights and turning the different appliances on and off for a few moments. "Kind of like that?" She gave a little snicker. "I can control eletricity. I'm guessing you're also a mutant too, right, Aurica?"
Aurica started looking around noticing that the links blinking. She turned to Tricity telling her that she can control electricity. A big smile of relief came across her face as her eyes starting getting a little teary. She let out the breath she was holding in, closed her eyes, and wiped them as well. Aurica brought her head back up and brought her right hand to cover her mouth while giving a nod with happy eyes. Aurica brought her hand back down as she started to speak again.
"Yes, I am a mutant, and you have no idea how happy you just made me with that little show."
Tricity gave a smile and sat down next to the girl on one of the stools, rubbing her back a bit. "I'm glad you found us then. I know how hard it can be..." Johnathon placed the sandwich on a plate next to Aurica and tossed a bag of chips down too. "Make me one too, pleeeease?" He nodded and started making another sandwich.
"So, why don't you tell me a bit about your mutation, Aurica?"
"Well, I can tell you're feeling a bit happy that he's going to make you sandwich, and I can feel that he's eying me since I came to the gates."
Aurica was now holding her head up with her arm as she just looked at her sandwich and it came to head level. She moved it toward her mouth as she started eating her sandwich.
"Basically I have the ability of empathy, telekinesis, and an ability I've named vitakinesis. It allows me to heal wounds."
Johnathon's face went a little red as he stared at Aurica and then back to Tricity, mayo dropping from the knife he was using. Tricity nodded to it with a smile and he quickly grabbed a napkin to clean it up.
"Most impressive," she complimented. "I've always wanted to have telekinesis." Tricity took a bite of her sandwich and put it down again. "So, you plan on staying here, right? You can choose a room upstairs and to the right when you're ready."
Aurica gave off a nod and a smile when Tricity said she could choose a room upstairs.
"Thanks. I've been on my own for a couple of months now. My parents waited for me to get to an age where I could take care of myself before disowning me. In a way, I guess it was kind of them."
Aurica got off the stool and started heading towards the door which led to the hallway when she noticed that the little clock on the wall wasn't working. She thought it might be the charge. Aurica looked over to Tricity.
"I think your clock is a little out of juice. But I can get it. There's a little side effect to my empathy."
Aurica gave off a smile and winked at Tricity. She got a bit of a concentrated look at Tricity for a minute, then looked at the clock. She got close to it, and snapped her fingers to where the battery was. Some electricity came out of her finger, charging the battery once more. Once she stopped, the clock started working again.
"Cool... Weeeeell, I'm off for a nap. Would you like me to accompany you to a room?" Johnathon asked, stepping closer to Aurica. Tricity smiled and gave a wave.
"You're in good hands, Aurica. He'll find you a room." She turned to head toward the living room, but turned back. "Oh, J, make sure you give her a newcomer's packet. It was nice meeting you Aurica."
"Yes, Johnathon will give it to you. Just get it to me when you're done. Hope you settle in ok, but come by my room if you have any questions." Tricity gave another wave and headed back down the hall.
