The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Abyss slowly rolled out of bed and yawned; He rubbed his eyes and sat up a bit disoriented. He looked around the room and was all the more disoriented. He stood, and his eye opened wide as a dog bound up to him happily panting and wagging its tail, it boomed a greeting. Since when did dogs run to him and look happy? He began to move his arms quickly toward the dog to keep it down but one arm was……in pain, but more then that it was….Heavy? He slowly brought the arm up to his eyes, making a slight effort of it. There was a cast on his arm….and it was heavy. He glanced at the skin above the cast and his eyes went even more wide…had he turned into Earth again? Was that Jacen man around. Then he noticed the skin tone… and even that wasn’t right, his arm was thin and didn’t have much hair on it….a pale gold, where his skin should be bright Red or at worst an Irish looking never seen the sun white…this shade was wrong even for being wrong.
He looked again at the dog and the bathroom that joined “his” room and cautiously walked towards it and where there would likely be a mirror.
He took in the scene in front of him and shook his head. Glanced behind him to make sure that he wasn’t somehow blocked by the little asain man that he was seeing through.
“Oh boy.” His voice didn’t rumble out of him it wasn’t girly or anything but it wasn’t a deep bass either…he looked at his tiny but fit chest and laughed. He wasn’t a tenth of his weight… “What the hell is going on?” he looked to the dog that had followed him over. He glanced to the water bowl and refilled it.
He stared for another moment and shook his head. He looked back into the room and noted things were in English, he wasn’t in Japan…If he was Japanese now, he thought so but wasn’t absolutely sure. He walked over to the window and then grimaced. He was at the Mansion….he recognized it immediately. He knelt down to the dog and looked at the tag. “Thor.”
He was answered with an enthusiastic rooooouff, and then went to the leash near his Abyss nodded to the dog as in agreement; fresh air would be nice and possibly necessary. He wasn’t sure how modest this man was that he had apparently taken over but he sure as heck wasn’t he checked the fly on the white cotton and gray stripped pajama bottoms he was currently in. He noted a sling on the corner of the bed, but ignored it. He grabbed the leash and hooked it on Thor’s Collar. Something about the Collar made him realize something, he should know his own name before he left the room. He went to a desk and found what he wanted. A wallet and the information he needed.
Good, his name wasn’t hard to pronounce. Shinbo Tetsuya… he could handle that. And it would have to do for now. He grabbed the leash in his able hand and lead Thor out of the room and let the dog lead him from there, sure enough he made it to the front door with ease. The dog was good, very well behaved. So much so that when they got out side he deemed the leash unnecessary. He squatted down and undid the hook and the dog knew immediately that he had free reign to run around and did so. He put the leash over his bare shoulder and leaned up against a column near the porch… He saw it that he could do one of two things…infiltrate the heck out of the x-men…or head home and warn the sanctuary something screwed up was going on…. If nothing else he could email Lisa. Thor initially ran round like he was insane flaunting his speed. And then he settled down and did what most dogs do. Mark everything they can.
What he was annoyed with was that everything was heavy. movement took effort, this cast weighed something....he had lived in a world where weight only meant that it would cause more damgae when it hit something...it wasn't a variable that a ctually afeccted him...but if he was a mutant then he had mutant powers...he needed to go look at his file...he was sure that the xmen would keep files...he wasn't sure why, but he was.
He wondered momentarily about wrecking havoc in this body at the mansion...but what if this was it, what if he was stuck here like this...I mean if he knew that it was reversible he could go and take care of this mansioner right now with a trip to a brothel, make sure he caught something... ugh. he was in a bad mood. He didn't actually dislike him that much... though he could see about cauising some awkward situations for the young man. now that would be fun.
Alexandra continued to run around the Mansion, doing her usual morning training. Although dressed in a tank top and shorts, a thin layer of sweat covered her body, thanks to the summer sun. Last lap. She recalled, as she continue to run, her breathing accelerating even more.
At reaching half the distance of the last lap, a figure that hadn't been there last time made her slow down and eventually stop near the familiar Asian. "Hey, Shin." she said as brightly as possible between the panting. It had passed some time since she had talked with Shin, with both of them being busy around the mansion and such, she decided that now, when they were kind of taking a break, it was a good time to have a small talk.
In an utterly non-typical Shin like fashion, Abyss's eyes went from sneakers and cute little socks to a lot of well toned leg to shorts that appeared a lot later then he might have expected, to a nice little tank top and well the rest had his attention as much of the rest, and not just her chest , her raven hair and her bright blue eyes, pretty face.
He didn't respond immediately as he was not shin, but as he put Shinbo next to Shin he plopped another piece of the puzzle into who he was looking like these days. He wasn't Like Venus he didn't hit on everything he came across, More so he refrained for professional reasons at the Sanctuary, keeping business apart from pleasure. But he wasn't at the sanctuary, heck he wasn't even here.
"Why hello there." he paused for half a second, knowing he should know her name but continued on and just pretending she was distracting him. his eyes flashed over her form again. "Exercise looks good on you." He stood there bare chested almost drooling over a panting and sweating Circe. He absent mindfully wondered if she had a boyfriend here...not his problem.
"What have you been up to lately?"...how dumb would he sound if this was Sin's girlfriend, and they were hanging out recently. He lifted one corner of his mouth.
And in a totally uncharacteristic way for Shin, his eyes trailed from her toes up to her face, making a few stops along the way. Emphasize that uncharacteristic, because Shin acted like this was the first time he was seeing and it certainly looked like he was checking her out.
An eyebrow rose very slightly, meeting his gaze, both confused and somehow surprised. Perhaps he was ill today? Giving him a quick look over to search for any signs of illness. He looked as healthy as ever and even feeling very comfortable in his own skin.
Holding back the intention to scratch her head, she remained still, trying to keep her face as possible, even when Shin seemed to be flirting with her and actually dropped a compliment about the fact that she was exercising.
Mentally shaking her head, but watching with interest every movement and reaction of this new and confusing Shin, she inhaled a bit more than usual quantity of air and placed a hand on her hip and shrugged.
“Nothing much. Been busy lately. I guess you were too, since I haven’t seen you much around after my trip.” she spoke, shrugging again. “How’s Kasumi?” she added, now awaiting with interest his reaction at this question.
Her hand went to her hip and he couldn’t help but notice that her small fist crossed most of the cloth that was there.
“Nothing much. Been busy lately. I guess you were too, since I haven’t seen you much around after my trip.”
“Yeah. “He lifted his wounded appendage, complete with coffee stained cast. “You know me always busy, or up to something.”
“How’s Kasumi?”
“Kasumi.” He had met Kasumi, was Shin Kasumi’s man? “Kasumi is fine.” He shrugged with a bit of indifference. He couldn’t jump to conclusions…but he could make Shin pay for making him go into this crippled body.
“were you heading to the showers?” he paused letting the question hang there for a moment. “Want some company?” He wanted to laugh at the outrageousness that he was committing . Venus said stuff like this and got away with it, he wondered if shin could. Somehow he doubted it.
Shin… was acting… strange. In the few months she had known Shin, never did he act like this around her. It was like it was someone else inside his body. For a moment, the thought of a shape shifter taking Shin’s appearance crossed her mind. But even a shape shifter couldn’t have the scent of the person it was imitating and most assuredly Thor wouldn’t have been so comfortable around any other than his master.
Shrugging it away, she decided that Shin was different today. Her eyes moved to his cast as he raised it for her to see it, and smiled sympathetically. The indifference which he was using when he spoke Kasumi’s name brought more confusion and suspicion into her mind, especially not after seeing the two of them at Kasumi’s birthday party where they seemed so happy to be together. Perhaps they had a fight?
Various scenarios ran trough her mind, trying to explain Shin’s attitude. Until he mentioned joining her in the shower. That had to be a lame joke… Cause certainly he knew that she had something with Sam and as far as she knew, Shin and Sam were friends. Her eyebrow rose again. Yes. It clearly was a bad joke.
Alexandra decided that the best was to laugh, and so she did. She laughed for a few seconds, a bit forced, but still, a laugh. “Yeah, I was heading to the shower. Then out for some shopping. You going to the bookstore today?” she asked with curiosity.
~~“Yeah, I was heading to the shower. Then out for some shopping. You going to the bookstore today?” Abyss raised the asain's Eyebrow
"Yeah, you were heading to the shower or yeah you want some company, just to clarify and nah, I have plenty of books." Who had he gotten himself into? He was known for going to bookstores so much that it was just expected that he would be at a bookstore. Ugh. and based on that laugh he would not be seeing more of that lovely figure... but such was life.
He then wondered if he should be learning to use his power...or figuring out what it was, seeing as this one, probably had some guys chasing her....ah well. who would attack a guy with a broken arm. he still leaned up against the door, smiling lightly at her...the smile felt natural, how od was that. He was happy about life too, smiling naturally, if he had long enough in this body he would help it develop a nice scowl.
The fact that Shin was hitting on her could have passed as a joke… well, a bad joke, considering their friendship ever since being at the mansion… but still. However, the fact that he had actually no idea of what she was referring to when she spoke about the bookstore, turned Alexandra suspicious.
However, she kept pretending and gave another laugh as she was determined to find out what the heck was happening. Nodding at his comment about having enough books already, she pushed some rebel hair behind her ear. “Yeah, I was going to the showers.” she replied with a carefree smile.
Pushing some more rebel hair behind her ear, her face turned more serious, as if she had remembered something. Blue eyes scanned this new Shin again. “Say, Shin. You still wanna get that dragon tattooed on your… errr-” her eyes shifted to Shin’s backside with a smile, then back to his face. “You know, what we’ve talked about.”
Her head tilted to the side, it was a complete lie what she was saying, but a lie that was supposed to reveal others. Sighing, she gave a small shrug. “I’ve finally decided on having a tattoo made myself but I don’t know yet what I want…” she paused for a second as she put on a half flirty look to test Shin. “I think you could help me.”
He nodded to her and started walking back into to the mansion, " I think I may have forgotten about any dragon tats. But maybe you can refresh my memory and i can find you a good place to put yours. I think we can think of something." he turned and whistled for Thor, who looked in his direction and took off readily abiding his master.
" Ya know, I don't remember much about last night, I'm still kinda dazed in fact." He stretched a bit causing his arm to just barely brush her own bare flesh. it was obvious in the movie theater but placed else where well it could be effective. Of course it didn't hurt he was in his pj's either.
"oh, How about one of those little barrel of monkey monkeys...a red one maybe? on your ankle? "
Alexandra raised her eyebrow slightly, even unnoticeable as Shin replied. Confusion blossomed in her mind as she let the air out of her lungs with a bit more force than usual. A small nod followed the subtle movement of her chest as she chewed for a second on the inside of her mouth.
Pacing slowly along side Shin as they were walking toward the mansion she flinched subtly when his arm touched her exposed skin. Her head turned abruptly, the feeling of surprise lingering on her face only moments, before she pretended that she was surprised by his words rather than his gestures.
Before replying, Shin’s suggestion about tattoos made her turn her head back to the previous position. She watched with interest as a few students were playing a game of basketball before turning her attention to Shin as they entered the mansion’s doors.
“What happened last nigh?” came her abrupt question. Alexandra blinked as she lowered her head to the ground for a brief moment. “I’m sorry. That’s not my business.” Of course, she didn’t feel sorry and she kind of expected for Shin to tell her now. Not like she was usually being curious but this new Shin forced her to be.
“Well, when we talked about tattoos, you seemed pretty enthusiastic about it. Especially about the spot.” Alexandra laughed for a few moments, turning her head once again to watch a few more students run down the stairs.
Her body turned to the side as the kids, not very aware of their surroundings came straight for her. Even if she tried to avoid it, one of them brushed against her, pushing her in Shin’s direction. Her feet were quickly to react, but still her body had brushed against the Asian’s.
“Watch it!” she yelled, an annoyed look plastered on her face. Without the interest of seeing if the kid had even heard her, she turned back to Shin, eyes scanning to see if she had done any damage. “Sorry.” she said, as she moved next to the stair railing and let herself lean against it.
“As for my tattoo, I was considering a phrase written in a foreign language or so.” she said as she tilted her head to the side, thoughtfully. "Perhaps red monkeys are just a little bit too much for the start. I prefer something more subtle." Another smile graced her lips, as she let her hands travel up to untie the ponytail that had kept her hair still during the morning training.
~~“What happened last nigh?” “I’m sorry. That’s not my business.”
“To Be honest I am not really sure. I don’t really remember anything odd before I went to bed, but by the time I woke up, everything is fuzzy and kind of confusing.”
~~“Well, when we talked about tattoos, you seemed pretty enthusiastic about it. Especially about the spot.”
“Hmmmm, I dunno. Maybe I just need some coffee.” Thor at that moment decided to bound up to where they were standing and then nuzzled Shin’s and then Circe’s Legs. “Good Boy.”
~~“Watch it!”
His free hand grabbed the rail in moments and his legs tensed so to make sure they didn’t go tumbling down the stairs what an odd feeling that a tiny little thing like the woman before him might knock them both down the stairs.
~~ “Sorry.”
A smile lit his face as he noted every part of her body that brushed up against his. “actually that is more than alright.” What was it that Venus always said about women….?
“As for my tattoo, I was considering a phrase written in a foreign language or so.” "Perhaps red monkeys are just a little bit too much for the start. I prefer something more subtle."
Ah that’s right, always leave them wanting more.
“ Maybe something connected to your heritage? That to me would hold the most appeal.” He gave her one last steady gaze of her fine little body and began to walk up there stairs. “ If you change your mind about the shower and decide you want some help finding just the right spot to write breathtaking in….Romanian? on your body let me know.” He gave her a wink and began to go on her way…if anything good was going to come of this then she would follow him.
A hand extended to pet the cute husky as it nuzzled against her legs, a smile tattooed across her face as she did so. A few moments later, her hand stopped petting Thor, smile morphed to a polite straight face as her eyes traveled from the coffee stained arm cast to Shin’s brown eyes.
Alexandra’s head tilted to the side, eyelids closing for a mere moment. “Haven’t changed my mind yet.” she replied to his last comment. Two fingers connected with one side of her head, rubbing slightly against it, as a headache was starting to appear. It was certainly annoying how headaches started to appear much more often than usual.
Sure, she was constantly under stress, but it was strange. With a sigh, she decided she would need to make a detour to the infirmary. Her finger’s left her temple and hand slid to the back of her neck, while she stretched her neck muscles. Another sigh, and Alexandra dropped her hand back down.
“As for writing in Romanian… I’m not sure I want a constant reminder of my origins.” Her shoulders went up then back down in a slow motion. “Not that I mind being Romanian. It’s just what happened there that I don’t like.” She let the phrase hang in mid air, the look on her face clearly stating that she didn’t want to talk further about the subject.
“Perhaps I should try elfish. Pointy ears have always attracted me.” Alexandra let out a laugh, as she raised her shoulders again, to signal that she was undecided. “I’m sure the guys at the tattoo parlor have something interesting in their catalogues.”
The kids that almost knocked her down just a few moments ago came back running trough the front door, making her frown. Fortunately, their chosen destination was the kitchen, and they rushed into it at full speed. Moments later the sound of something fragile being broken echoed into her ears. For a moment, she wondered how the hell was the Mansion still standing.
Her head turned back to Shin as she shook her head slightly, disapproving this behavior in a school. “Anyways.” Alexandra said, interrupting her thoughts about the well being of the institute. “If you decide to have that tattoo done, let me know, I’ll join you.’ The corners of her lips rose slightly to form a smile as her leg moved on the next stair. “But now, I need to go back to my room.” she announced.
Fair enough, “ I suppose, there’s always next time.”
His eyes scanned her temple and then the hand to her neck. “ It’d be one handed, but I’d be happy to help you get the kinks out.” he wondered briefly if he was ever going to be himself again, and if not would he appreciate the touble he was getting himself into….
~~“As for writing in Romanian… I’m not sure I want a constant reminder of my origins.” “Not that I mind being Romanian. It’s just what happened there that I don’t like.”
~~“Perhaps I should try elfish. Pointy ears have always attracted me.” “I’m sure the guys at the tattoo parlor have something interesting in their catalogues.”
“Fair enough.” He wouldn’t taint his body with anything from lord of the rings, but he had a feeling she could have worn a golem tattoo well if she wanted.
~~“Anyways.”. “If you decide to have that tattoo done, let me know, I’ll join you.’ “But now, I need to go back to my room.”
“ Sure, that sounds like something to do today, I’ll be in my room, let me know when ever you want to go.”
He walked up the stairs hanging on to the rail to not let his balance degrade anymore than it had, the lack of tail and the tilt to one side was annoying already. So, attempt one was a crash and fail. Maybe when she came to his room…or maybe he’d just go get that tattoo… he’d have to look around the room for tat designs see if he could actually get this shell something worth while.
“Today sounds good.” Alexandra said, flashing a smile, before taking off to her room in a rush. As soon as the door closed behind her, the smiling face disappeared, turned into a more confused one. Alexandra entered the bathroom, her thoughts still directed to Shin’s strange behavior. Was it safe to hang out with him?
Half an hour later, she stepped out of the bathroom, this time decided on what she should do. She was Alexandra Kettler, Circe, and she never backed down from a challenge. If Shin was acting strange then she should investigate, not hide. It wasn’t like Shin could anything else than .. flirt with her. The thought felt strange in her mind but she shrugged.
Two hours later, dressed as comfortable as possible, Alexandra was knocking at Shin’s door with a confident look on her face.
Abyss looked around the room and it wasn't hard to see what Mr. Tetsuya was into anime, manga whatever it was… A nice Anime chick on his side would work, he opened mangas and spread out dvd’s all over the room he even found some weird anime database thing that didn’t seem to work right. Who to pick who to pick? He taped his lips with his hand that wasn’t incased in cement soaked bandages. His asian lips.
All sorts of gun toting robot riding blue eyed, dark haired anime girls peeked out from pages and covers.
A knock came to his door and still hadn’t managed to put a shirt on. He had however managed to draw a box on his upper body where he wanted it. he walked to the door stepping over and around books. So far one Picture was in the lead.
He opened the door and said “yellow.” In greeting making a the rhyme replace the typical hello.
