The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As she approached, Lee saw the big red guy tap the side of his head. What the hell did that mean, she was up there?
She was still upset about this...Well, Lee thought she should still be upset about the situation, but her anger kept slipping away. Lee wasn't sure what was going on, but all of a sudden she was feeling more calm and relaxed than she had been since before she had gotten to Florida.
Even when the big red guy asked if Tarin made her angry frequently, Lee was still feeling calm. It wasn't like Tarin made her angry, they just...found themselves in situations quite frequently. Situations that most people would never encounter.
Then Kealey was talking, saying that she didn't see any reason why they shouldn't believe Mars as she called him if he said that Lori was alright. But before Lee could say anything else, the RV stopped.
Lee turned, looking at her husband in the front of the vehicle as he asked about Lori. Even though he hadn't seemed overly worried before. "Apparently she's in his head, or something like that," Lee told him, then turned back toward the others. She didn't understand it in the least, but she wasn't nearly as worried about it as she had been earlier, either.
And then they got to sit around waiting for Jacen. It was weird, Lee should have been a lot more tense and agitated, she'd think, than she actually was, both because of what had been happening and because of the energy she had siphoned from the club, but she was feeling remarkably calm as they waited.
Finally, Jacen showed up, and Lee saw him making his way across the parking lot. She couldn't feel him, of course, but she could see him. "Yeah, I think so," Lee replied to the cop's question. "He says he's got Lori somewhere safe, so can we get out of here?"

Oh. She was in Mars’ head. That made total sense, Tarin decided as the calm simply continued to wash over him. Somewhere in the back of his mind, it seemed weird that he was so calm in this kind of situation. Those had definitely been police cars they’d driven by. Something tickled at the back of Tarin’s mind, and he turned his head towards the blond he’d met on one previous occasion. Hadn’t she said she dealt with emotions. Tarin looked around the RV, everyone was calm….except for Lee on occasion…but even she was more mellow than she usually was in the heat of tense situations. That was usually reserved for after they were through.
Mars was complimenting Lee and asking Tarin if he made her angry on purpose. Usually, Tarin would have been pissed if another man said something like that about his wife, but he found himself chuckling slightly at the comment. “Considering the fact that she could probably break you in half, I don’t taunt her any more often than necessary.”
Mars walked off the RV after a few comments to Kealey that didn’t make complete sense, but pushed a few puzzle pieces into place.
His nonchalance was what did it, Tarin looked at Kealey and tilted his head to the side, “Alright kiddo, cut it out with the mind mumbo jumbo.” He said, giving her a level look. “I’ll allow that it made sense earlier in the drive…I’d have probably pissed myself when we saw the cops before. No point now. Besides, like Big Red said, if there’s trouble, we’re going to be way more use to your boy if we’re at full capacity.”
Almost as if on cue a voice rang out from outside the RV and Lee made her way outside to answer it. Tarin did the same and spotted Jacen, “Yeah, and tell blond number two to cut the cord. The last time I felt like this was at a Grateful Dead concert…and I only want to feel that way when I ask for it.”
++“Considering the fact that she could probably break you in half, I don’t taunt her any more often than necessary.”
Typically Mars might laugh at that statement, but he simply nodded and didn’t even argue about it, his mutation came with the physical tale of things his body was capable of, not every mutant was like that.
“not bad, not bad at all.” He said in a much more respectful tone than he had a moment ago.
~~”If Mars says she’s okay…then she’s okay. He’s done nothing so far to suggest to me that he’s anything other than trustworthy…plus he can put things in his brain.”
He appreciated the backing of Kealey immensely; it was nice to know he could get along with normal people and not just those in the world out to fulfill a mutant revolution.
**"Apparently she's in his head, or something like that,"
##"Is everyone OK?" "Did we get her out in time?"
Mars nodded to Jacen to answering both questions and then opened the void side ways and the motorcycle came sliding out of it, his tail eased it to the ground.
**"Yeah, I think so," "He says he's got Lori somewhere safe, so can we get out of here?"
Mars chuckled once the calming effects wore off. At the continued confusion of where exactly Lori was he decided to make it a bit clearer.
“ Those voids take anything or anyone to an alternate dimension, that as far as I have ever known is limitless in capacity, she is perfectly safe in there, probably even more so then she is out here, in fact she is sleeping peacefully right now. She does seem exhausted though and I definitely have some questions about what the hell went on down here, and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you all have, but all of that can wait for now. I suggest we get to the Air port and then onto the plane, You’re car and Rv can be arranged for whatever we need to do with them, by the staff. For now though I suggest we move.” He paused. “Unless of course you all want to fly or drive back up there by other means. I intend on getting Lori to someone who can make sure she is better than just ok.”
He mounted the motorcycle and started the engine he pulled around giving Jacen a wide birth just in case the mutant didn’t take his word for it. He wasn’t feeling particularly patient. He pulled out his cell and made a brief call to the air strip let them know that he would need space in the hanger for a car and an Rv. He also wanted the plane fueled back up and ready to move.
The adrenaline was finally wearing off and Jacen could feel the tiredness pushing at the back of his mind. What he wanted most at the moment was to slip into bed and take a long rest. The past couple of nights had been rather restless as he focused on stopping Pulse and rescueing Lori but now the job was done and he could begin to relax. He knew that he was currently in at least a touch of shock and the fact he'd been forced to take another life would sink in down the road which was fine by him. Everything could be dealt with later on.
"If you can arrange someone to take back the rental car, I'll deffinately take you up on that flight." Jacen said with an appreciative nod, "Just stick me wherever you need to on the plane so you don't accidently run into my aura."
Jacen couldn't believe he was actually being this nice to the man that had recently been the cause of his break up with Lori, except, that wasn't really true. It was Lori's own actions and Jacen's own emotions that had been the cause of the breakup. Mars had simply gotten caught in the middle. It wasn't really his fault.
"Tarin... why don't you leave the RV here for the cops to collect and we can all just ride in the rental." Jacen called out as he glanced over at the other man, "Sound like a plan?"
