The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Running off (for those who are joining resistance)
(OOC: This will be a thread for anyone living in the mansion, who wants to join the resistance. Nails leaving the mansion for his own reasons. You can post here if your character is either looking to join the resistance, or is escaping from the assualt, or whatever. You don't have to leave the mansion this way, and you can meet up with the resistance as an individual or whatever. What I would like to see happen here though, is people who don't want to be registered forming a small band here and making a run it, and eventually ending up at Hunters labs.)
A tooth-brush, thooth-paste, his walet, passport, change of clothes, and deoderant. Nail stood over his small bag of belongings. He was outside in the rain under a tree, near the edge of the Mansions property. He was going through his belonging one more time, alittle surprised by how little he was carrying. He felt bad, cause the bag he was using was actually the schools property. He was whereing the clothes he had shown up at the mansion in. They were cleaner now, but still torn to shreds. The clothes on his back were one of the few things he actually owned.
In the Rain, his hair was plastered down. He had been standing out there for awhile, lookign at the mansion. He had just shown up, and they had welcomed him with open arms. They had given him a job (Janitor... but better than nothing) a place to stay, and fed him aswell. He had really thought this place could be his home, but now that the world was out to get the mutants, he realised it wasn't safe.
Logic had told him that this wouldn't work out. A giant mansion full of mutants would be the first target most likely. Nail couldn't afford to be registered. He had a record, was technically an illegal alien, and was a walking jewelry store. He had resolved to run away. Not sure where really. He had heard students saying they were gunna run off too. Smart kids. Tonight was the night he chose to leave. He stood there now, ready to go, but not quite wanting to. He had been traveling for a long time by himself. He hoped someone would show up. Someone who could make his little escape with. Prefably someone who had a good idea of where they could go. Cause to be totally honest, Nail had no clue where he was heading.
Nail sat out in the storm under a small tree on the outskirts of the mansion. In one respect, it was cold in wet, but the good part about the rain was that apparently, the SWAT team hadn't noticed him in the poor visibility. Nail was in shock when he saw the looming shapes of the huge swat team close in on the mansion through the curtains of rain. He felt his heart rate speed up. He knew the mansion was a target, but he didn't think it would be attacked so largely so quickly.
Now he definitely didn't want to leave. At the back of his mind, a voice told him to run. TO get away as quickly as possible while he still could. He ignored that voice though. He was frozen under the tree, peering through the rain at the mansion. Hoping he would see some, anyone, running towards him any minute. He wanted to know that someone inside was ok, and that they had escaped the raid. He watched for a long time. The whole time, he the little voice was screaming at him, and his body was tense with both fear and anticipation.
(Just to kind of bump this so people can find it. This is where people should go if they escaped the raid last night. Nail was hiding out all night, just kind of preparing to leave. He saw the attack, people running from the mansion and making their way to the lab to join the resistance should meet up with him here so that they can move out.)
Silently another twelve man team approached the man. He’d been identified from Calley’s training video as Sentinel and was considered dangerous, however, they were no here to fight him. All save one melted into the night, keeping their eyes peeled for anyone headed their way.
The team leader, one Sergeant Hicks, made his way to Sentinel’s side. “You go back in there you’ll just end up captured. Come with us and you have a chance to make a difference.” The Sergeant was staring out at the mansion through his night vision goggles.
Shifting the settings to infrared he saw some vague shapes moving that eventually revealed themselves as Stalkers. Everything that he and the other teams of soldiers that were around the mansion, waiting to see if any mutants managed to make it out, was being recorded and transmitted to Mondragon labs so an analysis of these new fighting machines could begin.

Nicki ran from the mansion, nothing but her cell phone on her. She ran as fast as she could from the place she had learned to call home, Nicki's thoughts ran wild: she knew she could go to Kaz, but were these people after her? Would she be bringing them to Kaz as well? Should she just get lost? What about the sister school...?
Nicki's thoughts ground to a halt as she spotted someone on the horizon. Immediately she became afraid until she realized she recoginized one. Nail. Nicki stepped on the gas and ran over to him.
"Nail! You're okay! Thank God, I haven't seen anyone from the Mansion. Nail, it was crazy. Did you see anything?" Nicki asked, all her words coming out in jumbles. Nicki looked around at the other people with her housemate. "Um...hi?" she asked more than said.
The figures loming towards him made hims snap out of his little panic attack. He formed a pair of guantles out of nessesity, and took on a defensive stance as they drew near. However, they didn't attack. Rather, they seemed to set up a defensive perimiter while another man aproached him with an offer. Nail didn't really have time to register much of what the man said before Nicki ran up to him , obviously just as scared and confused as him.
"Nicki! Jeez I'm glad your ok. What the hell is going on. I couldn't see anything. I was lucky I wasn't inside."
Nicki looked around at the men in uniform, obviously just as confused about their affiliation as him.
"I think their OK. If they wanted to hurt us, they would have tried by now."
He eyed the man who was scanning through the rain with infrared binoculars. He was right. HE doubted running in there would accomplish much. The shear numbers of the aggresivness of the men and bots who had closed in on the mansion where enough to put him off of that idea. But what exactly was he offering. The last time someone had asked him to come with them he had ended up in a cell.
"What do you mean by make a difference. Where would you take us?"
Sergeant Hicks nodded to the woman as she arrived. She was identified as Nicki, both form Calley’s training video and as Kaz’s girlfriend. “A resistance is gathering,” the sergeant explained. As he did so he looked off to the right, then gave a hand signal. Two of his men disappeared into the gloom.
“We can take you to it. From there you will be able to fight back against this.” In the distance a muffled cry was heard, before being silenced. “So you have two choices, you can come with us or go it alone.” The two men who had disappeared returned, covered in blood, and retook their positions in the defensive circle as Hicks awaited the mutants’ answer.

Nicki was relieved as Nail spoke like he was okay. "We got raided! People were dropping left and right. I don't even know who's where," Nicki sighed, shaking her head as she stepped closer to Nail.
She didn't know Nail all that well but she knew him a lot better than the people standing there offering them a "way to make a difference". Nicki tried to pick up anything from thier minds but she was lost. Her own emotions were pretty out of control and her powers seemed to be following. Nicki looked from Nail to the other group and reluctantly turned back to her friend.
"I think we should go with em..." she whispered. "I think us being alone right now is a very bad idea. I don't know who's after us or if they're after specific people, but I think us being on our own is a mistake."
Nail had to agree with Nicki's argument. Seeing the force he had just seen, and judging from Nicki's description, he really didn't think they stood much of a chance on their own. He also had to admit, being part of a resistance sounded pretty sweet. Of course, by the looks of the men who where surounding them, he doubted being a part of it would be a cake walk. He leaned alittle closer to Nicki so she could hear him over the din of the storm, and so that the man couldn't listen in well.
"Considering the situation, we'll just have to play it by ear. We'll go with it, but if things start looking bad, we'll bail out. Sound good?"
Nail was slightely disturbed as the two men who had snuck off came back splattered in red.
"We'll go with you on one condition," Nail said loud enough for the man to hear, "we don't get those guys jobs," he said gesturing to the two bloody soldiers.

Kaz watched the blip on the GPS indicating he was getting close and hit the gas harder. His Hummer made very little noise, another one of the special features, as he sped closer. He spotted who he could only guess was this Hicks, his men, Nail and Nicki. He came up towards them, turn the wheel fast and hit the breaks, turning the vehicle 180 degrees, to face the direction he had come from. Before the truck had finished it's stop Kaz was out the door and rushed Nicki. He smelled the blood on the two men closest the mansion.
Kaz wrapped Nicki in a hug, "You're alright." He kissed her on the head before looking around to the men. "Sergeant Hicks I presume." He looked at the man closest to Nicki and Nail. "Why is she still here!" Nicki was the only one he was concerned about, Nail could go bite a bullet for all he cared. He wanted to throttle the man but figured a calm head was better than murderous rage, as he tried to bite back a growl. His left arm had already changed back but his teeth had not. With each word the Sergeant would be able to see each and every one of his extremely sharp white teeth.
Sergeant Hick was about to order them to move out, and had radioed for the jeeps to come round when another vehicle arrived. He’d been warned of Kaz’s impending arrival and foul mood. While Kaz’s appearance was unnerving, Hicks had served Hunter for a long time and had faced worse.
“We were just about to leave,” he said, and as if to prove his point four jeeps came into view. The soldiers began to move in an ordered fashion towards them, weapons still scanning the surroundings for any sign to trouble. “I assume you’ll want Nicki to ride in your vehicle.”
Turning to Sentinel he said, “You’ll ride with me. And don’t worry, my men can deal with the humans. We need you to fight what we can’t.” While he hadn’t stated specifically, his intentions were clear. While Stalkers were more than a match for most mutants, a mutant equipped with the right weapons would do better than a human with the same weapons.
Nail nearby jumped into a tree by the surprise of having a hummer sneak up and nearly crash into them. Kaz got out of the hummer, ran over to Nicki, hugged her, and yelled at the man, who was apparently named hicks.
"We were just about to leave."
"Wow, wow, wow! Hold on!"
Nail's jaw had dropped about a foot. He looked from Nicki, to his arch-nemisis, and then to the Hicks.
"Kaz is part of the-? And Nicki, you know Ka-?"
He couldn't finish his sentances. He was too... Whats the right word? Angry? Alarmed? Confused? There was way to much happening way to fast. Far too much for Nail to cope with. He couldn't believe that this girl even knew Kaz. He had the impression from thier first encounter Kaz was a condeccending sadist with homosidal tendincese.

Nicki's face lit up as she saw Kaz. She wrapped her arms around him, holding on to him tightly. "Thank God you're okay, I was so worried!" she smiled, happy for at least a moment that Kaz was safe.
She creashed back to reality when she realized the Nail/Kaz situation was surfacing itself. Nicki knew about the Nail thing, as she knew about most of the things Kaz had done in the past. Nicki let go of her boyfriend and turned to Nail, looking him in the eye.
"Okay, Nail, listen to me. You know me. You know I'm on your side right?" Nicki asked, starting again without an answer. "I know that Kaz did some terrible things to you but right now isn't the time to settle it. We got to get safe right now and I give you my word Kaz won't hurt you. Please...trust me." Nicki stressed her words carefully, looking up towards Nail.
Nail listened to Nicki. He didn't know what to do. This guy was his capture and enemy, and had made his life a living hell. It was probably a good chance that he would stab him if he was walking too slow while in front of him. Nails glared at Kaz, who seemed to have mastered his strange ferral form he had aquired while keeping Nail and Iris locked up, his sharp pointy teeth definetly suited his violent personality.
Still, looking back at Nicki, who seemed to genuinly care for him, and seemed to understand the suituation quite well, he realised she was right. Hell, he would be surprised if she wasn't right, she could freaking found out the answer to anything she wanted if she focused on someone hard enough.
"Alright. I'll go with you guys to this resistance place. It's probablyh better than what they'll do to me."
Nail cast a side glance at Kaz befor adding: "but maybe not as bad as what he did to me..."
He stepped past Nicki and up to Kaz slowely, showing no fear, and trying hard to keep his body language neutral.
"... A freakin adrenaline shot..."
He waited for Kaz to realise what he was talking about, and let him say what he wanted to say about it.
"This time, we'll be fighting on the same side, so those kinds of tricks won't be nessisary. Deal?"

Listening to Nicki and Nail speak, Kaz forced the feralness from his features as he calmed down. Nicki's words seemed to do wonders to the boy, and Kaz was truly greatful to for it. He took a few deep breaths and looked at Nail. He wanted to say a lot to the boy, but none of it seemed appropriate at the time. "I know you don't trust me, so trust Nicki."
"This time, we'll be fighting on the same side, so those kinds of tricks won't be nessisary. Deal?"
Kaz held out his hand to Nail, keeping his smirk about the adrenaline shot off of his face, <I would have loved to see his reaction when he found out>. "Deal." He motioned for the vans, "Go quick. We can talk later if you want." Kaz mentally gave the boy some credit, since the last time he saw Nail, he had acquired a but more backbone, just like Kaz had hoped he would. He turned away from Nail to Nicki, "Common," Taking her hand in his, he lead her to the Hummer, it'd driver's door still open.

Nicki looked towards Nail again, her gaze intense. "Don't worry Nail, I'll be there soon and you'll be okay," Nicki reassured, knowing that Nail probably wasn't that scared, but she felt better reassuring her friend.
Nicki grabbed Kaz's hand after hitting his stomach, a little harder than usual. "Keep those thoughts in your head where they belong young man." Nicki smiled, taking a moment to enjoy the fact that Kaz was safe. She enjoyed this for just a moment. "Kaz, what the hell is going on here? You seem to have some information on it...." she asked, lifting an eyebrow curiously.
