The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tilting his head slightly as he eyed the woman Bacchus shrugged and took another swig for himself, did she think it was poison? Oh well more for him then. As a waiter passed by Bacchus waved him over and ordered a round of beers for himself and his date for the night. Once he was gone Bacchus turned his attention back to Lena who was commenting on the ‘Football’.
”I’m a bigger fan of American football, my build helped win the division conference back in the day when I was in school. People thought twice before trying to hit the QB when I was in the way.” slamming a giant fist into his larger chest giving off a loud thud Bacchus grinned and continued, ”Bacchus “Brick-Wall” Brickson!” a title he was rather found of it got the point across to say the least.
”Food’s ready…” said Bacchus his nose tilted up slightly as a man exited the kitchen carrying a tray of food and drink. Bacchus didn’t need to see him or hear him simply the smell of the food called out to him. The spices, the cooked meat, and the beer, yes the beer. As of late it was almost like he could smell it from a mile away, call it a gift he was rather proud of. Once the food was set Bacchus leaned into the table closer to Lena as he made his first Fajita wrap ”So tell me a little more about yourself, call me curious but it’s not to often I meet a woman of your caliber on the job and to be honest I am intrigued.”
After the extra spices and toppings were placed Bacchus took a bite his general focus on Lena more than anything else, it wasn’t every day you met a pretty young thing who was packing and anything but trigger shy.

Lenna laughed. "American Football is cool too. It's brutal. I like that." Men, bashing up against each other heroically, fighting for the ball. The rugged line of a chest? Concussions, broken legs, nerve damage... She ran her finger down the cold glass of water the waiter had set down, and thought of the carnage.
Philosophically speaking, there was something there too. The roar of the crowd, the pound of one's heart in their ears, the adrenaline. The kickoff, the rush, the crash. It all spoke to some deeper need for self-gratification. You knew when you were good at Football. That's when you won.
It was also nice to watch the guys running while sipping a pint. That was good too.
Lenna's eyes rose towards the waiter as he approached, carrying his tray of food. "Finally, some meat." She was almost drooling at the prospect. Her lips drew into a vibrant grin.
Bacchus reached over the table to make a fajita wrap. Lenna worked at making her own silently as she sipped her beer. Another cheer from the guys at the counter, the night felt cooler now. Like the side of a glass. Good weather they were having. Hot in the day, a warm chill at night. The fajita was hot, spicy, good.
>>"So tell me a little more about yourself, call me curious but it’s not to often I meet a woman of your caliber on the job and to be honest I am intrigued.”
"I held my first gun when I was 8…” The brunette hazarded breathlessly. "It was love at first cock. The feel of the handle, the heft of the barrel. The smell of it. And the sound." Her hands ran through the motions, like they were trying to assemble an invisible gun. They rose to point gun-fingers at Bacchus's chest, and fired! Lenna blew off that elusive trail of non-smoke, and let her hand drop. "It was a sound of power, like the cheer of the crowd at a home game. It was only natural, I suppose. I got into a line of work involving guns."
"Security guard," She elaborated a second later, as if he were likely to misunderstand. "Protecting important people from less-important ones. Other things..." It occurred to Lenna that her cover was blown. If anyone told Cortez about the killing of friends of his, there'd be trouble. Like she cared... Lenna wondered just how trustworthy this guy buying her drinks was.
Hmm.
"Call me presumptuous, but I have a feeling we're both being a little guarded about our true lines of work..." Lenna's brow knit as she cupped her beer between her hands like a child holds a sippy cup. Her voice lowered. "Is it fair of me to assume you're more than just a mineralogist?"

Biting into his spicy meat and then washing the mouthful down with some of his dragons breath Bacchus eyed Lena with a curious smile. The way she spoke and carried herself was one thing but from what she just told him about her self… it had to be an interesting childhood to say the least. Far more interesting than his own at least, dead beat mom and abusive alcy dad pretty much summed it up and he didn’t feel like opening that can of worms to her, might scare her off or at least leave her uninterested in his bulky self.
”Security guard huh?” Bacchus asked curiously biting into his food once again. When someone mentioned security he always pictured a mall cop for some reason, granted he had his fair share of security gigs ‘protect that from this, make sure this gets there, make sure he doesn’t die’ non of which involved a mall, Guns however most of them involved guns, guns was something he wasn’t a big fan of mainly because they were far to impersonal, if you were going to kill something you should be aware of what your doing by feeling it’s life slip from your hands.
If it wasn’t for the life slipping through his hands every time odds were he wouldn’t stop, sure he didn’t like killing but sometimes it was needed, like a scare tactic, trying to make a point… people think twice about messing with a giant after he just forced brains out all over the place.
"Call me presumptuous, but I have a feeling we're both being a little guarded about our true lines of work..."
His mouth open with the next bite inches away from it’s next resting place Bacchus reluctantly set it down and took a swig of his flask as she continued to question him. He wasn’t one to kill women but if Lena knew more about him then what he told her he was going to have to do something. What that was he wasn’t sure.
”I don’t look like a mineralogist?” he asked curiously trying to figure out what gave him away, ”Was it because I mentioned I was a foot ball player?” he asked with a smug grin as he took a sip of his drink and a bite of his food. ”No it is safe to say I am not a mineralogist, more of a hired hand of sorts, the boss tells me to go and I lend a hand…” as he said this his hand enlarged a few times his size before it shrunk and placed it’s self back on the food.
”So what exactly are you being guarded on Lena? I had no reason to believe you weren’t a security guard till your last comment about us bother being guarded, care to share?”

>>”I don’t look like a mineralogist? Was it because I mentioned I was a foot ball player?"
"More the line about not meeting 'women of my caliber on the job'." Lenna replied quietly. It implied he met women of lesser caliber while he was working... and he'd been perfectly fine with her gutsy gunning earlier. That spoke volumes of what kind of people he associated himself with. What kind of acts... He finished telling her what she'd expected, and Lenna bowed her head in a silent smile like a laugh, finger tracing the cold side of her glass. Hired hand. Polite way of saying lackey or thug. Though maybe he was more than just a strong-arm? Lenna sipped her beer and considered.
>>"So what exactly are you being guarded on Lena? I had no reason to believe you weren’t a security guard till your last comment about us bother being guarded, care to share?"
“I’ve dabbled around in different lines of work. Also, as a hired hand…” Lenna answered his last question. Vaguely. It was probably as good as he was gonna get. "We aren't so different in our lines of work, are we? Bossed around, do this, do that... that was an impressive trick earlier... with the flick... head goes pop." Her middle finger snapped against the thumb on her right hand, illustrating the motion. The glass of beer made a sound. "Usually, I go for something a bit less messy. Hate making life difficult for the maids... you understand."
She made a face.
"Though really. Not much more needs to be said on it. I understand. Hush hush. New subject." Lenna scooped up another beef fajita, and spoke through a mouthful. She chewed the line over, waiting to see how he'd respond.

Grinning slightly as he took another bite of his food Bacchus couldn’t help but let a small laugh escape from full mouth, ”Fair enough…” she wasn’t wrong, so he wasn’t going to argue you what she had said, it was true that most of the women were of a less make than Lena most of which would scatter or start screaming when he would kill someone or someone pulled a gun, however she was the one holding the gun. Something Bacchus liked a lot, she wasn’t your average girl something she had in common with a few of the major girls in his life.
”True it seems that is something we have in common,” Bacchus said agreeing fully to the fact that he to had bosses most of which were incompetent and couldn’t hardly scratch their nose without his help. Crushing his flask slightly as he thought of his current boss and how infuriating it was to be addressed like a spastic village idiot by someone who was a year younger than he.
Sighing slightly as he realized what he was doing to his flask he emptied the contents into his mouth in one large swig and tossed the dented tin of to the side of the table like a balled up piece of newspaper. ”Guns, maybe less messy but I prefer the old fashion approach, I do’ mind a little dirt on my hands.”
As she took another bite and spoke Bacchus nodded his head, he could talk about the weather but then again this wasn’t a date and it was clear that things were starting to slow down, ”Care to come back to my place for a night cap, love?” he was having fun and didn’t want the night to end, so he decided ‘what the hell?’ go big or go home.
"Your place?" An eyebrow did arch. "I thought you'd never ask."
A bit hasty, he was. Rushed headlong into the big risk like a quarterback aiming for a touchdown. In their business (or her business), showing a pretty lady one's pad was a danger. Just... how many Bond movies had ended with the pretty ladies the hero had bedded turning out to be enemy spies? Disregarding the fact the Casanova agent was a smooth operator that turned loyalties as often as he turned heads... it was a bad move getting too friendly with the locals on a secret mission.
And Lenna was Queen of Bad Moves. He was fighting for her title! That wouldn't do. Wasn't she the one who was supposed to be regretting tonight with every facet of her being? So far, all she'd accomplished was a good time. The thought struck her to invite him back to her place, but...
A fork speared the last bite of meat on her plate. She polished off her beer. "I'm ready when you are." She rose.
If he was offering and willing to take the risk, what the hell? She'd let him make his wager before telling him the stakes. Things were still running on her terms, after all....

Grinning slightly Bacchus finished the last bit of his food and the entire unopened beer in one mouthful. His jaw enlarging and opening wide enough for him to stick it all in he swallowed it in one giant gulp and stood with an air of excitement. Waiting for Lena to take his hand which was now extended he waited till she polished her beer and ate her last bit of food and then he helped her up dropped a twenty on the table and escorted Lena to the door her weight still leaned up against him.
The walk back to his place was a short one, which made sense seeing as the hotel was only a block or two from the bars he had been scoping out that day. The air was somewhat warm for the night, which didn’t bother Bacchus so much seeing as he was at the moment too drunk to really care. A woman on his arm and sex on the brain Bacchus took her back to his place and practically broke down the door to get into his room. It was shabby but the bed and the bathroom was clean, all he really cared about anyways. The rest of the room was just… well, plain.
As he walked into his room he smiled pointing over to the mini fridge and said, ”Night caps will be in there, help yourself I already stocked up on some drinks.” closing the door behind him Bacchus walked to the bathroom and shut the door behind him as he went to relive himself. A flush and a hand wash later Bacchus walked out his chest slightly bulkier than it was before he went in.
Ready to tear at the seams Bacchus stretched his shirt slightly as it gave out a small groan before ripping in several places. Once his shirt was off he walked over to the fridge and pulled two beers, walking over to Lena and handing her one Bacchus grinned and said, ”Bottoms up love!” popping the top of the bottle off with his thumb Bacchus chugged it and then set the bottle down and made his move.
Leaning forward hand behind her lower back Bacchus pulled Lena into a hug and a lip lock, yes he was moving fast but, time was of the essence and they would have to leave in the morning odds are not seeing each other ever again. Call it the heat of the moment.

Hurried hands rattled the handle. The walk back to Bacchus's room had been short-lived and simple. A few blocks away, in the same kind of hotel Lenna'd of stayed at if her standards for room service were lower. It was fateful Bacchus's room was on the second floor. From the way they were both reacting to the spirits, Lenna had a feeling they wouldn't have been prepared to deal with more than a single flight of stairs. Now, the door to Bacchus's room stood flimsy in front of her, chipped paint and all.
She pressed up against Bacchus with a laugh as he jerked the door open as quickly as he could. It did little to deter his efforts.
"Heh." He was really going out of his way to hurry things, wasn't he? Like he was worried she'd get lightheaded from the booze and float away.
The pair slipped through the entrance as the door fell away. Lenna turned to jerk it shut again, then glanced around Mr. Giant’s nefarious lair.
Bed. Nightstand. Bathroom. Floor. The room was plainer than a school marm’s smile.
Not a lair; More a cave.
Lenna plopped down on the bed, and swung her legs to the tune of coiling springs. At least the cave was clean… Her eyes fell on the mini-fridge as Baccus mentioned it, and Lenna smiled. It also had drinks. She moved to open the mini-fridge’s door with a ‘ka-spring!’, stared at the contents, and blanked.
A minute later, Bacchus returned, sans shirt… he tossed her a beer. Lenna stared at it, then down to the Capri sun in her hand, slightly distraught.
…Why did he have Capri Suns…?
The thought was replaced by lips as Bacchus pulled her up into a hug, and kissed her worries away. Her right hand found his face as Lenna leaned into the kiss. And her left?
Well……. Let’s just say, it strayed.
The Capri Sun and the beer hit the floor, all the same.

Despite the fact that he heard the beer bottled and the Capri sun drop to the floor he was still in the moment with her. Part of him wanted to reach out and lift the fallen beverage, the beer the Capri would be fine, he however thought it would be fitting punishment to give her a little slap as punishment, his hand that was on the small of her back trailed down to her rear where he placed a firm but in his opinion an extremely gentle slap while her hand had begin to stray.
Curling his lips upward slightly at her straying hand Bacchus used his hand on her rear and lifted her slightly turning away from the bed and stepping on the Capri sun (much to his displeasure) Bacchus placed her up against the wall his hands enlarging themselves slightly as his one hand remained under her rear while the other was trailing up her leg lifting it in the process.
Surprised slightly that she was willing to let this go on for as long as it has been Bacchus continued what he was doing waiting for her to make the next move after all she wasn’t the type of girl that liked to get tossed around like a rag doll. Speaking of which….
Bacchus ran his hand up and down her pant leg once then twice then turned slightly facing the bed as he tossed her onto it as it cried out with a spring loaded whine. ”Your clothes….Lose them….” Bacchus said as he eyed her shoes briefly before he raised an enlarged hand, ”Leave the boots….”
Now ignoring the scent of everything in the room Bacchus’s senses focused solely on Lena, her and the bed that was all he saw, all he smelled and all her needed to here…. Well almost everything. Reaching down and picking up the bottle she had dropped moments before Bacchus gingerly popped the top with his thumb like he did before to the other bottle. However, unlike the one before it the liquid sprayed before the contents quickly found way to his mouth as Bacchus drank. All the while eyes staying focused on Lena.
Lenna had heard the sound of the bottle as it hit the floor, been unable to prevent its fall as her mouth was eclipsed by lips. And then the hand came down for what she could only assume was punishment for breaking the commandment 'thou shalt not waste beer'. Her left hand snapped over Bacchus's as she cupped his chin near her face and smirked. Shook her head, held the violent hand in place. "Gentler..." Her eyes urged.
The Capri Sun collapsed under the shuffle of feet that did not mind the warning. Fruit punch shot out the straw, onto the floor.
Her finger trailed down the side of his cheek as the giant pressed Lenna to the wall. Found chin again, pulled it up into a sly kiss. Cheeks rose softly as she smiled to herself. Her blue-green eyes reflected the amusement she found in the situation. A woman like her, so used to owning her life, bossing others around, and choosing who she worked for... tossed around like a leaf in the wind. Almost fitting with her current situation? Heh. Amusement with the thought vanished as she realized it. No freaking way. Lenna pressed her lips into his, tilting her head to lock faces in perfect symmetry as her arms swung up to hug his shoulders, held Bacchus tight.
Less thinking, more of this... She grinned behind a kiss.
It seemed Bacchus's thoughts ran parallel to hers... perhaps even horizontally... springs sang their discomfort as the mattress sank down under Lenna's back.
>>"Your clothes….Lose them…." Leave the boots….”
Ah! So now he was being demanding! First, he'd tossed her around, but let her take the initiative, now he was flat-out telling her? Lenna laughed and eyed him as she unzipped the coat. And keep the boots? At least the man had his priorities straight. Her holster slid off the side of her shoulder. She held it out over the side of the bed. Let it drop. The metal of the gun clicked as it hit the wooden floor, then fingers worked down a line of buttonholes as the white long-sleeved practically undid itself.
All the while, eyes stayed glued to the giant as he watched over her, focused, sick... like a doe-eyed shepherd guarding sheep. The beer gushed out onto his chest, met the spill of Capri Sun from earlier. Lenna's shirt drifted off to her right to land airily on top of holster.
Tonight was a night for sticky messes, it seemed...
The boots slid off to apologies. "Sorry. I don't do it in work boots." And she couldn't well take off her pants with them on. The footwear dropped down neatly, next to the shirt. Laces twined over lacy unmentionables as bra landed on top. The redness was quickly covered by jeans.
Lenna leaned back in the bed, arms resting on pillows and beckoning. "Well?"

How long has it been since he had been lying there? A minute after she got out of bed while taking the bed sheets? Two minutes? It didn’t matter, he laid in bed naked, watching as his valkyrie smoked a cigarette out side on the balcony the door half open letting a cool breeze rush across his naked body the hairs on his chest, still few but still stood up on end as goose bumps covered his body. Wishing she didn’t take the sheets Bacchus rolled over on one side as another quick breeze flew in from outside this time carrying the scent of not only her but the scent of her cigarette.
He was never partial to the smell of the smoke that was given from the cancer stick seeing as it reminded him of his childhood days running whenever that smell entered his house. Shaking his head slightly trying to force those mundane and repetitive memories from his thoughts he rose from the bed walking to his fridge and pulling out another beer. Quietly he popped the top and exited the room through the sliding door, walking up behind Lena who was preoccupied with the view or her own thoughts, Bacchus slapped her rear gently, ”Ohi you lil sex object" grinning slightly Bacchus leaned in and kissed her on the head which required a bit of leaning.
”Beaut of a view ain’t it?” he asked as he stood naked on the balcony his one hand around Lena’s shoulder as his other was around the long neck of his beer that he put between his lips for a moment and then lowered to rest on the balcony. Eyeing the sunrise on the horizon as it rose behind a green mountain top Bacchus’s eyes trailed up to the heavens as they brightened slowly only to show the faint signs of light started to fade as one star and then another started to twinkle off in the deep reaches of space.
Letting out a small whistle Bacchus’s eyes soaked in the scenery as he absent-minded commented on the moment, ”Shit like this makes me feel small and insignificant…” taking another swig of his beer he removed his hand from Lena’s shoulder as he leaned forward resting both arms on the railing as he continued to look to the sky.
"Ohi, you drunken galoot." Lenna let out a puff without looking at him. It was a term of endearment, really. And the slap on the backside? Now, there was respect. She turned into the forehead kiss, breaking the cigarette in her finger. It flicked over the side of the balcony, tumbling red-end over white towards the parking lot below.
A red truck pulled out of a space. The butt landed in the back of its bed. Early enough for men to go to work…?What time was it? 1AM… 2AM… 5AM? 6… She’d lost track of the evening somewhere between the heat of their bodies and the chill of the night. Her eyes had traced the smoke from the cigarette after their escapades… their 1… 2? Escapades. She’d thought many thoughts. Gazed at the faint outline of the planets, stars.
Now the stars faded out.
>> “Beaut of a view ain’t it?” His hand rested across her bare shoulder as he stood next to her. Lenna welcomed the warmth with a bowed head and a smile.
“You know, after the moon, Venus is the second brightest natural object in the sky? The Goddess of beauty… look over there. You can see it. Its brightest just after sunset, or shortly before dawn…” Always brightest before the dawn. She plucked the beer off the balcony, from his hands. Took a swig. Night cap to morning cap? “Beaut of a view? Hell yeah.”
>>"Shit like this makes me feel small and insignificant…"
A light laugh escaped Lenna's lips as he said what she was thinking. This was... so cliche! "You're right... it is amazing." She settled into sincerity. The beer slipped back into Bacchus's hand just in time for his drink.

Eyes trailing up to the planet Venus as Lena helped herself to his beer… his beer, she helped himself to his morning beer… something he wasn’t a fan of but made no mention of it nor any sign of displeasure when she took a sip of it… she was he guessed his guest after all it was common courtesy to make the guest feel welcomed right? Even if it was one of the last beers…
Sighing slightly as he looked to the beer be placed in his hand, not exactly what to say. Eyeing the sunrise a bit more Bacchus yawned slightly as he sipped his beer once again his naked self-shivering in the somewhat cold air. Breathing in deeply then exhaling Bacchus scratched the back of his head and looked back to his small digital clock by the bed. Sighing again he tried to add the math up in his head about how long he had before he had to bail out of the town and get back to work for Slate. Odds were Slate wouldn’t be to thrilled to find him sleeping when he could be working.
Patting Lena on the rear again he grinned, sipping his beer, still slightly upset that she thought it would be alright to help her self to his morning beer, ”So…. Fancy another go before I head to work?” yes, it was very classy, so classy in fact that he polished off his beer and headed back inside by letting out a small belch as he made for the dragons breath. Why be classy? This was the last time he was going to see her right?
Waiting for her to follow in Bacchus swigged the flask and wondered if she would be up for it, worst-case scenario she would shoot him down, and he would just have to take a cold shower, before heading to work.
Blue-green eyes narrowed at yet another backside pat. Really? Again?! Inwardly, Lenna sighed. Last night had been nice. With the drinking, and the talking, and the aftermath… now, she was starting to get antsy. Momentarily, Lenna wondered how much the alcohol had aided in the moment last night, because this morning, a headache hinted like the calm before a storm.
>> “So…. Fancy another go before I head to work?”
And he was getting a bit demanding.
She glanced at the clock back in the hotel room, weighed her choices. It… would be nice. “I don’t have much time, myself.” Lenna noted, with a scrunched face. Cortez wouldn’t like it if she failed to follow through on her duties. That was a point in Bacchus’s favor. Her eyes fell behind her, landing on Bacchus’s exposed midriff, then guided themselves dutifully below the waist. Another point.
He burped in her ear. Two points for, one against.
In the parking lot below the two, one pair of angry red Columbian eyes gaped upwards, glaring. Bacchus retreated back into the room, and Lenna followed. The owner of the eyes turned, infuriated. He stormed off, sight of Bacchus burning brightly in his eyes. This was most inappropriate conduct for second floor rooms! He really must tell the manager!!
Lenna ran a hand up Bacchus’s chest. She smiled fiendishly, and stood up into a light kiss. “I don’t think I have to tell you this, but let’s make it fast…”
