The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Devon Sanada made his way down the sidewalk toward "The Sanctuary. Given that he was going for training, he's chosen to wear a white tanktop with black sweat pants and sneakers. From the description Meld had texted back to him, Skipper was pretty sure he wouldn't have a hard time find a building with golden doors. He was also pretty sure he'd heard of it before. Some kind of mutant safe-house. Things like that were always whispered in school, but never really investigated unless you had a reason to pursue it.
When he reached it, he wasn't really sure what to do. Was he supposed to just walk in, find the nearest person and hold up his cell phone with the message: "Hi! I'm looking for the mutant training facility?"
He paced back and forth in front of the building for a bit as he typed a message into his phone.
---Hi Meld. I'm outside.... Now what?---
He sent it, folding his phone and shoving it back into his pocket. He wondered just what the training would be like. Maybe like something out of the game "Mirror's Edge".... with portals.
He stopped and rocked back and forth on his feet a bit, waiting for a response.

Meld was sitting at her desk working on the finishing touches of the prototype for her new arm. Everything was finally coming together for its completion, all she really had to do now was find someone who was willing to rent a place for her to get to work on it and she was pretty sure she could manage that even if it meant threatening a human until he let her use his forge for a few days. If there was one thing she was good at it was threatening people and making good on those threats. Although her recent lack of respect for human life was a relatively new development, she had been strong arming enemies for years. Between her time with organized crime and her jujitsu training she knew just how to hurt people without actually injuring them and she knew how useful that particular skill could be.
Just as Meld was preparing to get up and take a food break, her phone vibrated and she noticed the text message she had just gotten from Skipper. She had been expecting him to show up sooner or later though she wasn't sure exactly when that would be and she was glad it was at a time in which she was actually at Sanctuary. Taking a quick detour to the kitchen she grabbed herself a sandwich and a second one for Skipper.
"Hello," she greeted him with a smile, extending her hand for shaking. She offered him the sandwich she had brought, not quite sure how to react around him. He wasn't exactly a friend, at least not yet, nor was he a business associate and he was certainly not an enemy. Those were really the only sorts of people that Meld was familiar with.
After a moments awkwardness Meld spoke again. "So, you wanted to see the training room?"
Skipper glanced up and down the sidewalk, waiting. When Meld appeared, he gave a smile and a friendly wave. At least "talking" would be much easier around this time since he'd remembered his phone.
A looming frigure of his enraged mother making an accusing point appeared in his head as her words reverberated off the inside of his brain. "AND IF YOU EVER LEAVE YOUR PHONE AT THE HOUSE AGAIN WHERE I CAN'T REACH YOU, I WILL PERSONALLY BEAT YOUR ASS UNTIL YOU CAN'T PRESS BUTTONS AT ALL!!!"
He scratched the back of his head again and smiled as he took the sandwich Meld offered him. He hadn't eaten lunch yet, so the food was welcome. he peeled the bread apart slightly, taking a peek at the kind of sandwich it was. Some kind of lunchmeat, was the only thing he could figure out. He took a bite of the sandwich and pulled his phone out to text a message. He typed it in about 5 seconds before holding it up for Meld to see.
---Thanks for the grub! :3 Sorry if this is short notice, I was just pretty psyched about learning how to use my "ability" better. So, yeah, let's go! ---

Meld waited good naturedly as Skipper finished his sandwich, not saying much as he did so. She was actually looking forward to her first experience in the training room, preferring to do her own training in Central Park. Her powers weren't exactly dangerous so there was no risk of training in a public area and the times in which she trained were usually pretty dead anyway. Not to many people were out past midnight and those that were were rarely willing to get close to a mutant, especially one that could obviously hurt them.
Meld laughed a little as she received the text message. When she had first discovered she was a mutant she hadn't been too keen on the idea, but once she learned to accept it she felt very similar. "Don't worry about it," she answered. "And I will help in whatever way I can, though I'm not really sure what I can do to help..." She hadn't ever tried to teach someone to use their powers before. She began leading Skipper towards the training room.
"I'm good at fighting and other sorts of physical activities but I'm afraid I don't have any experience in the sorts of things you can do."
Skipper nodded and smiled as he followed Meld inside, glancing around. He could feel his heart starting to pound a bit. He didn't really know what was going to happen next, but, he felt like Meld could be trusted. But, he was beginning to wonder if he was getting in over his head a bit. After all, as far as mutants went, he'd heard of many different kinds of groups. And he still didn't know much about this place. But, then again...
He pulled his phone out again and began typing.
---Well.... I'm getting better at making the portals... but there's a lot of things i want to try that I can't really do in my bedroom. And, by the way, can you tell me more about this place? I mean, you guys take mutants in off the street, right? Like runaways?---
Right after he pressed the send button, he wondered if maybe he was prying TOO much. he didn't want to seem rude, but then again he had a million other questions that he wasn't sure he could fit into a single text message. He decided to type another message right away.
