The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tarin thought that them not being normal was a good thing? Even on their wedding night?
Lee took a deep breath, not a sigh just a deep breath, as she looked at him. Was it really that good of a thing that they weren't normal? Though, the more Lee thought about it as she looked at Tarin, the more she thought that maybe, just maybe, he was right about this. Would they have been there, would they have had the night they'd just had, the night they still had in front of them, would they have gotten married like this if they were a normal couple?
Would they have even met?
OK, but that didn't stop Lee from hoping for and wanting some normalcy in their lives to offset all the things about them that wasn't normal.
Then Lee's eyes widened in shock. "Your heart stopped?" she asked. What? When? What the hell was Tarin talking about.
Then it all made sense when he went on to ask about the fact that she had worn 'that' through their wedding ceremony. Ooooh...that...
"Yeah, I did," Lee replied with a slight, one shouldered shrug. Really, why was Tarin so surprised that she had worn something like that under her wedding dress? She wore corsets back home, would wear them for an entire night out at the bar on occasion. So what was the difference here?
Once she said that she'd prefer more 'enjoyable' things if she was going to gain more energy than she'd be using up, Lee felt Tarin's arms snake around her waist and let him pull her down onto his lap. Bed sheet and all. It didn't take long for Lee to start shivering though, despite the heat from Tarin's body pressing against her, as she felt his lips ghosting over her neck.
And then she heard Tarin's suggestion of what to do since they did have that champagne courtesy of Josh and Rachael, and they did have that jaccuzi in their room.
"Fruit, and champagne, and a hot tub?" Lee asked, leaning away from him slightly and looking over her shoulder so she could actually see Tarin. Then she grinned at him. "You know, I think that's a much better idea than a walk on the Strip."
With that, Lee gave Tarin a kiss, just a quick one because she was pretty sure at that point in time anything more would result in them not exactly making it to the jacuzzi, and then she stood up. "How 'bout you go start filling the tub up, and I'll grab everything?" That suggestion made, Lee took the step or two it took to get back to the room service cart. There were the glasses, two of them, and there was still a decent amount of fruit on the tray.
It ended up taking Lee two trips. She probably could have managed in one, but she decided the ice bucket would be a good idea to bring along to keep the rest of the bottle cold. So, champagne (complete with ice bucket), glasses, and their little fruit tray were finally all over by the jacuzzi, within easy reach while they were sitting in it. All they really had to do was wait for it to finish filling, so Lee decided to take that time to actually open the champagne and pour the two glasses. Setting the bottle back in the bucket, Lee handed a glass to Tarin. "Cheers, hon," she toasted him, then leaned over to kiss Tarin once again.

Lee almost spazzed when Tarin said that his heart had stopped for a few moments, earlier. He was just about to give her a look and tell her to chill when realization dawned on her face. But she was so nonplussed by the whole thing…of course she’d been wearing that corset…those stockings…those shoes…under her wedding dress through the whole ceremony. Yes Lee had worn corsets before…and yes they’d always had an incredible effect on him…but usually she wore some kind of bottoms with them…not just…god if he thought about it too much Tarin was going to die right in the hotel room. So he let his mind wander to something else.
Lee seemed to like his idea about the Jacuzzi and Tarin grinned when she looked over her shoulder at him. She looked so gorgeous wearing nothing but a sheet. Then she kissed him and Tarin wondered for the briefest moment if they really needed to move all the way to the Jacuzzi when they were already so close to one another sitting right there in the chair. It was only a brief kiss though, and Lee was getting up, worrying about getting the food together.
Tarin wanted to watch her doing this in her sheet, especially since she seemed to be doing a worse and worse job holding it up as she gathered things, but he decided to be useful and start filling up the tub, realizing as he did that this was something he and Lee had never done before. The whole…water thing, that made it way better.
Making sure that the water was hot, but not too hot was Tarin’s masterpiece for the moment and he let his hand trail in the water as the tub filled. Lee approached and he splashed water towards her. “What do you think? Good temperature?”
Lee was busy with the champagne now and Tarin took a glass from her, studying the spread that she’d drug over to the huge tub. Letting the comforter fall down around his waist where he sat, Tarin drained his glass in one after toasting Lee and set it on the side of the Jacuzzi then waited for Lee to do the same.
As he’d drank, and watched Lee Tarin had studied just how far Lee was from the edge of the tub and considered his next move. The tub was full now and he ridded himself of the comforter all together and swung his legs around and into the Jacuzzi. That done, Tarin reached out lightning fast and snagged her around the waist dragging her, bed sheet and all, into the tub with him in a flailing mass of splashing arms and legs. She’d probably be a little pissed…but he figured she’d get over it….at least he hoped so. Once the frantic splashing had calmed down, he grinned at her, “Now you can’t wear the sheet anymore. You’re stuck with me.”
Lee wrinkled her nose at Tarin as he splashed her with water from the jaccuzi while she was opening the champagne bottle. And hot water at that. On her white bed sheet. It didn't matter that they were about to be climbing into said jaccuzi, or that not that long ago Tarin had seen her wearing a lot less than that bed sheet.
No, it didn't matter at all. It was the whole principle of the thing, and Tarin had splashed her, so Lee had wrinkled her nose.
Otherwise, Lee didn't answer his question. That would have told him it was alright to splash her like that. It wasn't that she was particularly upset about it, just that kind of thing was more suited to the beach than a jaccuzi.
Especially her first time in a jaccuzi.
Yeah, her first time in a jaccuzi, and it was going to be with Tarin. On their wedding night. Lee grinned as she sipped her champagne, growing more excited as the seconds ticked by. Sipped her champagne much more slowly than Tarin seemed to be, since his glass was already empty while hers was still half full.
"Did you want some more?" Lee teased Tarin, glancing at his now empty glass as he sat on the edge of the tub with his feet in the water. Not even waiting for a response, Lee finished the rest of her champagne and set her glass down. Planning on stepping toward Tarin, possibly kissing him, possibly asking about this whole jaccuzi thing, but was interrupted by the sudden feeling of arms around her waist, and before she was able to do anything (more out of surprise than actually being able to move fast enough), Lee found herself hitting the water.
Gasping in surprise turned out to be a bad idea, and by the time that Lee's head resurfaced, she was coughing and sputtering, trying to get the water out of her lungs.
"What the hell, Tarin?" Lee exclaimed a minute later once her breathing was somewhat back to normal. She wasn't exactly angry at him for what he had done, but...Lee wasn't exactly sure what she was feeling toward Tarin at that moment for what he had just pulled, but it wasn't anger. Not quite, anyway.

Needless to say, Lee was surprised. Tarin had known she would be, or he’d have never even gotten her into the tub with bodily action. It had been an impulsive action and the second Lee came out of the water all gaspy and choking he regretted it. Her reaction was less than favorable too and Tarin suddenly realized the slight folly of his actions, she hadn’t been expecting that, and Tarin had just done something that was probably quite unintentionally mean…and on their wedding night. He was an ass!
“Omigod Lee…are you okay?” he said, wrapping his arms around Lee and pulling her up and out of the water, “I didn’t mean for that to happen, I was just trying to be all playful.” The sheet was wet…and therefore see through which was distracting in and of itself, but it was also sticky and tangling around Lee as she tried for purchase to sit right in the tub.
“Here…” he said, grabbing one end and getting to work on unwrapping the wet material from around his wife, “You just looked so damn tempting all wrapped up in this thing…” he said as he waged war with the Egyptian cotton. “I kind of wanted to see you all wet and wrapped up in something white…I wasn’t thinking…you’re okay aren’t you?” she was halfway free. Tarin didn’t take into consideration the fact that he was doing all the talking and unwrapping. The sheet was soaking, “Plus I thought that this way you wouldn’t be able to wrap back up in that thing…I’d much rather you just walk around like…” the last bit of the sheet came unwrapped from Lee’s form and Tarin realized his was looking at his wife, with her wet hair...sans body coverings of any kind. “…this…” he managed to croak out. The sheet was quickly cast aside and Tarin really felt like he was doing an amazing job staring only at Lee’s face. Well…at least after the initial realization he was doing a good job.
“God you’re beautiful….” He said, “Forgive me for losing my head? I’m sure I can find some way to make it up to you.”
Lee was still gasping slightly, but at least she wasn't sputtering any more. And it definitely helped that Tarin was now helping to right herself, helping to get her up and actually sitting in the water.
She was completely soaked by this point, and as Tarin started unwrapping the now very heavy bed sheet from around her body and apologizing, Lee raised her hands to push her hair out of her face and wipe the water out of her eyes.
He was just trying to be playful? And he had just wanted to see her with the sheet she'd been wearing soaking wet? Well...that did sound like Tarin... And Lee knew that there was no way he would ever mean to hurt her at all.
Finally, the sheet was gone, Tarin had managed to get its entire length unwrapped from around her. That at least made things easier when Lee didn't have all that weight dragging on her like that.
And, despite everything that had happened in the last few minutes, Lee blushed when she heard how Tarin's voice cracked, when she heard him say she was beautiful, when she saw the look in his eyes as he said it.
Ok, so she wasn't angry, but that didn't mean that Lee wasn't going to have to continue to remind Tarin to think before he did things.
"You want me to walk around like this?" Lee asked, a small crease forming between her eyebrows though the slight flush was still covering her cheeks. Despite what Tarin said about how she looked, Lee felt she probably looked more like a drowned rat than anything at the moment.
And Tarin wanted her to forgive him. Though Lee was sure that she would, she wasn't quite as sure she was ready to right then; her lungs were still sore from inhaling that water. But she wasn't angry anymore, that was the first step.
"I'll think about it," Lee replied. At least she wasn't gasping for air any more at this point. "It depends, in large part, how you were planning on making it up to me."

“God…yes please…” Tarin said when Lee asked if he really wanted her to walk around like she was. He was still convinced he was doing a valiant job staring only at Lee’s face, but he could see other things in his periphery and good lord, they were distracting. Lee pushed the hair out of her face and Tarin reached over to help her before pushing his own wet hair out of his face. Okay, so maybe pulling Lee into the Jacuzzi had been a bad idea. Tarin made a note not to do that again and went back to trying to figure out how to placate what he knew was a more than slightly irritated Lee.
Well, at least she was blushing. That was a start, even if flattery usually didn’t get him too far with Lee, maybe she’d be a little susceptible to it once she realized that she was completely nude in a Jacuzzi tub with her equally nude husband and the shock of her near accidental drowning had worn off. So for the moment, he just looked at her, scooting around until he was sitting next to her.
She didn’t reply immediately, but it looked like at least some of the irritation had gone out of Lee by the time she answered his request for forgiveness. It wasn’t a completely positive answer, but despite that, Tarin found himself grinning at the opportunity to make it up to her. Tarin was pretty confident he could make Lee forget about the little incident they’d just had…at least enough that she wasn’t still mad at him.
“Well…” Tarin said, slipping an arm around Lee’s waist and pulling her closer to him in the water so he could nuzzle that distracting spot on her shoulder again, “First I thought that I could actually turn the Jacuzzi jets on and pour you another glass of champagne to wash down the water you probably swallowed.” Tarin paused and grinned, before speaking again, “After that…” he said as he kissed his way up to her ear, then whispered exactly what else he had in mind…
When he was done whispering, Tarin leaned back, and just looked at Lee. Only this time, he didn’t keep his gaze from wandering , though they eventually made it back up to her eyes. “So…do I get the champagne…or are you still too mad at me?” he said softly and contritely, sincerely hoping that Lee would agree. He rather liked his idea of making up to Lee.
"Like this?" Lee emphasized, starring at Tarin as she asked the question. Was he really serious? "I probably look like a drowned rat, and you want me to walk around like this more?" Oh, yeah, that was great...
Tarin was moving in the tub now, moving so that he was sitting right beside her, his arms around her, as his lips sought out that place on her neck that always managed to make her shiver. Even at times like these where she was annoyed with him.
A moment later, with his arms still wrapped tightly around her, and his lips still on her neck, Lee heard Tarin start to talk, telling her what he thought he'd do to start making it up to her.
Lee tried to find fault with it, but Tarin did make sense. What was the point of being in a jaccuzi if they didn't have the jets on? Plus, how was she supposed to really know what it was like in a jaccuzi if they didn't turn them on? And they did have that whole bottle of champagne sitting there, that they hadn't paid for. It would really be a waste if she didn't let Tarin pour her another glass.
And then Tarin was kissing up her neck, not stopping until he reached her ear, where he whispered what else he had planned for making things up to her. Huh. Well. In that case...
"Get the champagne," Lee mumbled, rolling her eyes slightly as she noticed hi wandering gaze. She wasn't going to just let Tarin off the hook, she was going to make him work to make this up to her, but at the same time she didn't want him thinking she was still extremely angry with him, either. "And I'll se how I feel after that."

Lee thought she looked like a drowned rat. “Um Lee…If drowned rats look anything like you…then I’ve got a shocking fetish for drowned rats that I didn’t know about until right this moment…because you look so beautiful…and desirable…and and…hot right now that I’m almost in physical pain.” Tarin said, reaching out to gently take Lee’s chin between his thumb and forefinger and make sure she was looking right at him as he spoke, looking deep into those gorgeous grey eyes. Maybe Lee was a little nuts…she was within arm’s reach, with no clothes on, with wet hair…and she thought that was unattractive. Tarin smiled and kissed her. Let her think her silly thoughts, he knew better.
She was caving, Tarin could almost physically feel Lee coming around to his way of thinking as he talked about the champagne and the Jacuzzi Jets. He could almost see the wheels turning in her head, puzzling out what a waste it would be to let all that go to waste. The irritated tension was leaving her too and Tarin figured that had at least something to do with the kissing he was doing on her neck. ..and maybe the words he’d whispered in her ear. She’d paused at that, and even if she was irritated with him, Lee wasn’t dumb. She loved him, and she wanted him, and even if she was mad at him, she’d realize that.
Finally, after what had felt like an eternity, Lee acquiesced and told him to get the champagne. Tarin grinned and stayed where he was for a moment, nuzzling Lee’s ear and neck for another couple of moments before moving to the other side of the Jacuzzi and flipping on the jets. It was a nice Jacuzzi, it didn’t groan and creak and rumble to life, it kicked on with a smooth growl and soon the top of the water was rolling as the bubbles surfaced.
That bit of his task completed, Tarin set about getting the champagne. It didn’t take long and soon he was returning to Lee with both their glasses full. He stopped a little ways away from her though, and settled against the side of the tub. He’d apologized and even told Lee how he was going to make things up to her if she wanted. That was the best she was going to get. “Now….” Tarin said, holding her glass out halfway between them, a slow smile crossing his features as he met her eyes again, “Have you had time to decide about the rest? Are we going to just sit here and chill in the jets, or are you going to let me show you just…how…sorry…I am.”
There was a reason that Lee made damn sure her hair was dry before she went to do anything after a shower, whether she simply let it air dry and curl, or blow dried it. It was because of this, the fact that she felt she looked far too much like a drowned rat with her hair hanging down wet like this.
Tarin knew her far too well, though. If not for his fingers holding her chin, her eyes would have dropped, her head dipping slightly. But because of his finger and thumb on her chin as he spoke, Lee was looking straight at Tarin as he spoke, as he looked directly back into her eyes. And that look, combined with the words he was saying, caused a bright blush to spread across Lee's cheeks.
Even after she had told him to go ahead and get the champagne, Tarin didn't move at first. Wasn't he supposed to be making things up to her for dragging her into the jaccuzi like he had? And wasn't a part of that him getting her another glass of champagne?
At least he was still nuzzling and kissing her neck since he wasn't moving.
Finally, though, Tarin was moving away, and though Lee couldn't help but feeling a little disappointed by that, she reminded herself it would lead to better things, such as the jaccuzi being turned on and Tarin bringing her a glass of champagne.
It didn't take Tarin long to get the jaccuzi going once he started moving, he simply went to the other side of the tub and flipped a switch. So much easier than she would have expected. But Tarin was the one who was doing all this stuff, so Lee simply sat back and relaxed in the jets as she watched Tarin moving to get the champagne.
And then starred at him as he held out the glass to her without coming all the way back. What the hell? So he thought that since she had teased him earlier that evening, it was his turn to play around, did he?
Rolling her eyes at Tarin, Lee shook her head. "Just get over her and give me my champagne, hon," she told him, then gave him a slightly pouty look. "I don't like it when you're way over there."

Lee was still quiet, but Tarin had a distinct feeling that he was winning the battle. The look in Lee’s eyes as he’d held her chin had said enough for him to be sure of it. Moving away from her had been difficult, staying away from her was nearly impossible. Tarin almost felt like he was setting a precedent, though as he sat there offering his wife a glass of champangne. Tarin wanted her to come to him.
It wasn’t that Tairn minded Lee taking the reins in their relationship, especially since she was the one who always balked at the big decisions. It was easier to let her set the pace of things, and it usually ended up with great results…like this. Like them having an impromptu night of love under the stars in Texas, then eloping in Vegas. That’s how things worked with Lee, all of a sudden she was ready to go, and there was no stopping her. It had been that way with the relationship, with sex, with moving in, and now with getting married. Lee completely defined their relationship, and Tarin was fine with that…most of the time.
Tarin knew that he’d been the one to start this slight altercation, but maybe it hadn’t completely been about seeing her in the wet sheet…with the wet hair, and now it definitely wasn’t about that. Tarin wanted this tiny bit of control. He wanted Lee to come to him. So when she pouted and rolled her eyes, Tarin stood his proverbial ground, pulling the champagne glass even further away from her.
“Then do something about it.” He said, the same warm look in his eyes from earlier. In fact, Tarin took a sip of the champagne himself. “Now...if you want me to show you how I’m going to make it up to you, come over here and let me show you.”
Tarin didn't do anything when she rolled her eyes at him. That really wasn't a surprise, rolling her eyes rarely resulted in Tarin giving in. Most times, it actually made him fight more. What was surprising was that Tarin didn't come to give her her champagne when she started to pout about him being way on the other side of the tub.
And in fact he pulled the glass further away from her, and even took a sip from her glass when he did. Lee blinked at him in surprise. That was certainly not something she was expecting him to do.
There were just some things about Tarin that were irresistible, though, and the look he was giving her as he told her to come get her champagne was one of those things. Looks like that had gotten her to go a little further with some things, like just how much she was willing to touch him on occasion, since she didn't want to siphon too much from him. And this time, that look in his eyes drew her across the tub.
Across the tub Lee went, only to see Tarin pulling the glass further and further away from her, closer and closer to him, as she went. "Hey!" Lee exclaimed as she stared at her husband. Though a small smile was pulling at the corner of her mouth; Was he doing that for the reason she thought he was? "That's no fair!"

She moved, with very little resistance, Lee was moving across the Jacuzzi to come and get her champagne…or maybe she was moving to get what was promised along with the champagne. It didn’t matter, his wife was moving across the tub, just like he’d asked her to. Tarin grinned.
As she moved through the water, Tarin pulled the glass back further and further, closer and closer to him, just in case Lee was entertaining notions of getting it before she was what he deemed close enough. Closer and closer she came though, and Tarin wondered if time was slowing down just for him, so he could see her moving through the water like that.
Finally, she was close enough, which meant practically on top of him and Tarin swung his arm around slowly to present her with the champagne glass she’d worked so hard to get. Once she took it, Tarin smiled and reached for his own, downing half of it in one swallow. Champagne was good. Lee was better.
Giving her a moment with the bubbly alcohol, Tarin just looked at Lee as she sipped and slowly reached out to wrap his arms around her waist and effectively pulling her into his lap if she’d allow it. The element of surprise and the desire to surprise were not as his disposal this time. “Now…did you come all that way just for the champagne.” He said, that same small smile curving his lips, “Or were you interested in the second half of the proposition too?”
Tarin didn’t necessarily wait for an answer either, unwrapping his arms from around Lee to let them slip under the surface of the water and start roaming, making it obvious which choice he hoped she’d make.
Further and further away Tarin pulled the glass as she got closer to him. So far, in fact, that by the time he actually brought it back around to give to her, she was almost on top of him. Which must have been his plan all along, Lee realized, because there was no way that Tarin wouldn't have liked that.
Once again, Tarin was drinking the champagne much faster than she was, downing half of his glass as she was taking her first sip. Well, at least it was free alcohol (for them anyway) that Tarin was drinking so quickly.
Well Lee at least was going to savour the champagne. They didn't exactly have stuff like this often, and their siblings hadn't skimped on the cheap stuff, either.
Then Tarin was setting his glass down once more as Lee was taking another sip, and wrapping his hands around her waist. And pulling her up onto his lap.
Lee smiled. Yeah, pretty much all of her anger and irritation at the man holding her was gone now. Pulling her into the jaccuzi like that had been a very Tarin thing to do, after all. How was he supposed to know that she was going to gasp in surprise just as they hit the water? And really, after she had spent an hour in the room while he slept and she was practically bouncing off the walls because she didn't want to leave him on their wedding night, how much sense did it make for her to stay mad at him now?
"Well, I had come to get the champagne," Lee replied slowly, a smile appearing on her lips as well as she looked at Tarin. "But I definitely would not be opposed to what else you might have in mind to make things up to me."
As she finished speaking, Lee felt Tarin's hands already starting to roam under the water. Oh, was that an interesting feeling combined with the hot water flowing around her.
