What a beautiful day, a day that was not meant to be wasted away inside. On a day like this David couldn't help but move his work outside. He was sitting near a fountain on a stone bench. Only a day had passed since the whole virus incident, and if one good thing came from it, it was the bits and pieces of information that stuck in his head. Yes it helped with his current invention, but it was becoming harder to concentrate. Spring was approaching, and the Sun shown brightly on his face. He was tempted to just take a break and go lay out on the lawn, but he wanted to hurry up and finish, maybe then he could go relax.
In front of him lie two large boots, a few tools, some metallic containers, and radio devices. He wasn't quite sure the best way to put it all together. Normally when he made something he did it with blueprints lifted directly from the Internet. This time though he had no blueprints, he had to get as much relating knowledge and slap it together. He let out a long sigh and went back to work. He was inserting the containers into the soles of the boots, and hooking tubes throughout the rest of it. It was a pain in the butt. He had to have it fitted just right, because inside the large containers was compressed air, and lots of it.
He was happy about being able to just use compressed air, because unlike the alternatives, this allowed him plenty of oomph and continuous power. Considering this was all a theory he didn't even know if it would work. The containers' openings had to be pointed out the back, and slightly down, with the extra power it would hopefully help to increase his running speed and agility, something he knew he needed, especially after experiencing the training room.
Before he could fit it in all the way he had to attach the radio receivers. It was a small device wired to the containers, set to respond to a specific frequency, namely his. He was hoping to be able to combine this with his power, that he could easily and quickly access it, but the trick was precision. If he messed up he would probably fall, and maybe get hurt. It was a chance he wanted to take, not only could this help him, but it could be fun to.

He stuck his tongue out of his mouth while he concentrated, it was a habit he had since he was a kid. On his face was an odd pair of glasses, they had multiple lenses, like wearing a magnifying glass on his face. The wires were a pain to connect it was all fit very tightly, otherwise he would have to wear platform shoes to make room, and David didn't want to look that goofy.
It looked like it was correct, and tuned to the same frequency he used when connecting to the internet. David was not completely sure, so he figured it wouldn't hurt to check over his work o the net. He closed up the boot, from back to toe, and started to connect. Closing his eyes he was getting used to connecting faster and faster, but this time he didn't stay long. No he overlooked something so simple, if he put it on the same frequency, then every time he connected his boots would go off. Well he realized it now when the boot shot into his chest and knocked him backwards to the ground.
"Well I guess it works." He said looking around, hoping nobody saw that a footless boot just kicked him. Satisfied that his dignity was intact he picked the glasses off of the ground and opened the boot back up "Ok how about we change that frequency a bit" He muttered while tweaking the device.
