The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Yeah I suppose you're right Jaxon." David said in a yielding tone. "From what I've seen here, everyone agrees with you, they want equality more then anything else, which is great to know their are so many people like that, on both sides." HE continued typing away at the computer, trying to stay quick, but still careful.
David thought about Ghost's question, and couldn't come up with a very good answer, "Well I son't know anyone who is qualified for something like this, but it's my brain so I wouldn't want anyone else tinkering in there." He said jokingly, trying to mask the fear of what could go wrong. "I can't really test it very well on the computer, it's just not the same. The best I can do is see if it will even run before downloading it, otherwise I better get it right the first time."

Staring over David’s shoulder, Jaxon agreed with Ghost. “I don’t know, Ghost is right, this seems really dangerous.” Ghost mentioned testing it and Jax snapped up, making a motion with her hand. “That’s it! Can’t you at least test the anti-virus program on the same virus in the computer first?”
Nodding absently, Jaxon nodded, “Yes, I was there for a while, but I found a friend and we ended up leaving shortly after I arrived so I didn’t meet many other people…” At David and Ghost’s comments about fitting in, Jaxon blushed and severely hoped so; since she was a mutant she would need to fit in or life would be extremely hard on her own.
“So, David… If this works,” Jaxon looked at the back of his head speculatively, “how are you going to get the program into you?”
Ghost chewed her lower lip. They were getting to be beyond her range of expertise now. "Just be careful, okay? Your brain is important to us." She smiled and shrugged. Every life was important. Mansion residents especially, even the ones she had only met once or twice.
"I feel like I'm only slowing you guys down." She rubbed the back of her head a bit sheepishly. "So I guess I'll take my leave. David, maybe you could give Jax-san the tour? Assuming she wants one, of course. And Jax, it was very lovely to meet you. If you need anything like help draggin David back to the infirmary," Ghost grinned a bit roguishly, "My room is near the stairs to the kitchen on the girl's hall. The door is almost always open so feel free to stop by some time."
Ghost resettled her messenger bag before taking a quick inhalation of breath and changing into her incorporeal self. If she rushed, she could still catch the bank manager by phone from her room. A soft breeze ruffled a few pages in the library as she whooshed toward the second floor exit that lead her through classrooms and eventually to the dorm halls. She really did hope to see Jax-san again some day. David was doing well to make such a friend.
((OOC: takin' my exit now iffn' ya don't mind. drop me a PM or holler in teh cbox if you need me again some time ))
"I can test it on the computer but I wouldn't be able to tell if it worked the same." David said as he started finishing up. "And thanks Ghost, it's important to me to." He said with a laugh. He turned around when she mentioned leaving, not wanting to drive her off or anything. "You're not anyone down." He said in a friendly tone, "And no worries on the tour."
David was still not completely used to Ghost's power, but she must have been in quite a hurry to leave so quickly. He turned back to the computer, finishing the programming. "Well that's the million dollar question Jaxon." He said as he combed over the code, making sure there were no errors. "Once I finish, I will upload it and then have to download it with my power, but doing so will cause the virus to start up again. I should be able to keep it under control long enough to get the virus though, and after that it doesn't matter what the virus does, because the anti-virus will stop it." He said confidently.

((OOC: Okay Ghost, see you later!))
“Oh well, um…” Watching Ghost get ready, she smiled. “It was very nice meeting you Ghost. I hope to see you again…” Expecting her to simply walk out, Jaxon was surprised when she seemed to become suddenly intangible, similar to when her own demons were materializing, and just blew away.
Turning back to David, Jax wanted to protest, but only bit her lip with a worried expression. “If you die and I don’t get a tour, I will be very unhappy.” Jax’s tone was slightly joking and slightly serious, she really didn’t want to see him get sick again.
She sighed. “Okay, whenever you are ready, go for it.” Her whole body slightly tensed, ready for him to start spasming or something.
A grin swept across David's face. "I wouldn't dream of shorting you on your tour." He said in an almost serious tone. He leaned back in the chair, staring at the code, lost in thought. It all looked right, but he still wasn't sure what would happen. It didn't matter though, he had done his best, now to find out if this was enough.
He closed the program up and uploaded it to the net, "Ok here we go." He said turning to face Jaxon. David took a few deep breathes and closed his eyes. After a few seconds he managed to connect, and right on time the virus started up again. He struggled to keep focused, keep himself from getting knocked back to reality. He managed to download the antivirus and let himself get thrown back.
His eyes burst open and he took a deep breath, "Got it" He said loudly. He wasn't sure to be relieved or worried. for the next few seconds nothing happened, just the pain from the virus. He sat hunched over, trying to control his breathing. Next it seemed everything that could go wrong did. He couldn't breath right and his sight started to blur. His body started shaking slightly, as if having a mild seizure. The first thought was that he failed, something went wrong. "N-Not good." He struggled to say. He fell out of the chair and then it all started to melt away, the shaking stopped and his sight returned. "Well, I don't think I'm dead." He said staring at the ceiling.

David stared at the code on the screen, none of it made any sense to her so she was a bit useless at this point, but he didn’t seem quite confident which made Jax wish she was better at computer stuff. David got ready, turning to face her after uploading the program so he could get to it.
He seemed to have trouble using his power, as if he were trying to hit the switch but kept missing, but then he was gone. The dazed look in his eye worried her a bit but it seemed like he was okay with it, and shortly after he seemed to snap out of his trance. But before she could ask how it went, he doubled over in pain, breathing hard.
“That good, huh?” Sucking in a breath, her sarcasm lost, Jax stood from her chair, unsure what to do. Then he started shaking and fell out of the chair, similar to when he had been sick before, only on a larger and more life-threatening scale it seemed. “Oh yeah, that’s not good…”
Dropping to her knees next to him, she heard him say the same thing and she suddenly was very afraid that he was not going to make it. Jaxon was about to shout for help, or try and drag him back to the infirmary, if she could find it again, but then he started to get better. With the kind of laugh people used when they were stressed, she huffed a breath out at his comment.
“Not dead? Great… Now can I kill you?” Deciding he was going to survive, Jax flopped down to lay on the ground with him, waiting until he felt like he could get up. “We might skip that tour… I think you need to rest.”
A loud laugh escaped his lips at Jaxon's joke. He was extremely relieved that the virus was gone. Never before had he come that close to disaster, and he wasn't going to let it happen again. "I don't know Jaxon, Ghost might kick my ass if I don't give you that tour."
David turned to face her "You know, you saved my life, but I really don't know who you are, other then your willing to help someone and take them across town to a building full of mutants. You mentioned something about a valentines ball, about human and mutant relations. What was that about?" He asked her.

Jaxon had to grin when he laughed, it was contagious, and the relief from knowing he wasn’t going to die felt pretty good too. The image of Ghost kicking David’s ass made her chuckle.
Then he turned, and Jax did the same, one of those weird left-overs from child hood that being on the floor brought out. But his words almost made her wish she hadn’t. “Oh yeah.. I am just that cool…” Jax’s tone was a bit hesitant, not as cocky as the words might have been usually. “well, you know, charity and… research type stuff… make the family look good.” It was obvious she was lying even to her self and Jaxon sighed.
With a sudden movement she rolled over, to look at him ore fully rather than just turning her head. “Okay, I might be… a little bit of a mutant… Maybe..” There really was no maybe about it, Jaxon was quite sure she was, especially after talking to Venus and working with him on it a little, but it seemed easier to talk about if it was hypothetical.
Her tone of voice was obviously off, what they were talking about seemed to make her a little uneasy. David was wondering if he should change the subject, she didn't seem to comfortable with this. "Family affairs can be a pain." He said trying to show some empathy.
As Jaxon rolled to face him, David did the same. He was a little shocked at what she said, taking a few moments to respond. "What do you mean?" He said trying to easily encourage her. If she was a mutant he could understand her nervousness, and didn't want to do anything to make her feel bad. "Well what do you think your power is?"

Nodding, the silence almost deafening to her as she waited for a response, Jax looked around the room.
At his question Jax had to laugh a little bit. He wanted to know what she thought her power was… that was almost funny. “Well I’m pretty sure that I summon demons.” She rolled to her back again, assuming the same position as before, her avoidance of eye contact showing her nervousness.
Shrugging, an odd move while on the floor, she added, “I’d show you but, it’s been a hectic day and I’m not sure I could control it.” Her eyes scanned over the books, some of the titles worth a few thousand dollars each, “Some how I think destroying this place would be a bad way to start.”
It was true, she was tired after jogging and then the craziness with David’s powers, she was worn out. But mostly she didn’t want to scare off her new friend. David was a mutant, but he didn’t have powers like Jax did, she didn’t think he would understand the way Venus had. David had a useful and somewhat normal power, if there was a way to label mutant powers as normal.
"huh..." David said staring blankly at Jaxon. He too rolled back and started thinking. "She summons demons? wow!" He thought. The whole Demon thing would be a bit stressful for somebody, like bringing nightmares to life.
"I suppose out of control demons would be a bad thing for all involved. He said trying to get Jaxon to laugh. This helped explain why she was so open to helping him, and so accepting of the mutant thing. He knew this was probably starting to wear on her, keeping the mutation hidden.
"Well" He said loudly as he jumped up. "If you're a mutant you will love this place, and I would love to be the one to give you that tour." He said with a smile, holding his hand out to help her up.

Waiting for his reaction was hard. He seemed a little stunned. But when he spoke it was with puzzled understanding in his tone. She didn’t quite laugh though.
Not until he jumped up, offering to give her the tour again. With raised eyebrows she sat up, grabbing his hand and pushing to her feet. Then she was able to smile. “You know, it is odd that you are fine after all this…” Giving him a joking look she laughed, “I think this is just your way of picking up girls, faking illness.”
She grinned, her expression thankful that he hadn’t pushed for more info, Jax had been feeling a bit delicate lately, and bursting into tears would be a bad thing. Waving her hand in a dramatic movement she smiled. “But you have wiped me out... I think I need a nap and a rain check on that tour.”
Jax was worn out emotionally and physically, and she mostly wanted to lay in her bed and relax after all this. "Can we reschedule?" Jax would grab a card for this place, get David's number hopefully, and call a cab.
