The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

David's patience had already hit it's limit, the virus was pushing him farther then anyone had pushed him before, and the good doctor here only seemed to make these things worse. The light shined in his eyes was something he could do without, and then the man acted as if David was a kid or as if he wasn't even there, adressign the questions to Jaxon as opposed to him.
"I'm conscious and coherent." He said with a hint of frustration. He had to give the guy a little credit though, at least he was helping to take his mind off of what the virus was doing. David struggled to free himself from Ghost's grasp, he was thankful for their help, despite not showing it.
He kept as much composure as he could, which wasn't much, as he struggled to the bed, with Ghost helping him. He stopped at the edge of the bed as his will started to weaken, the information was still coming, and was getting to him again. After a second he jumped up to the bed and stared at the doctor. At this point all David wished for was that the virus would move on, he knew the danger it could pose, but he was willing to settle for some relief, at least until he figured out a way to stop it.

When the older man started to take charge, and he seemed to know what he was doing, taking some of the pressure of Jax and Ghost who helped him to the bed, Jaxon felt better. With a nod to Ghost’s question, she turned to the man, trying to explain. “Um, yeah, we were in the park talking and he started looking sick. He was going to leave but then he seemed to lose control and he fell.”
Wincing when the man started examining David, sure that he wasn’t enjoying any of this judging by his reaction, she answered the doctor’s questions as well as she could. “I don’t believe he was unconscious, he responded whenever I..”
David jumped in, sounding as unhappy as he looked, but he didn’t seem to provide much info for the doctor. So Jaxon nodded, agreeing with him, but kept speaking to the older gentleman. “…whenever I spoke to him, and he seems to know what’s going on.” Glancing down at the silver watch on her wrist, she estimated the time, “I’d guess it has been about half an hour, maybe forty-five minutes…”
Standing next to the bed, feeling very out of place, she added, “He seems to get better for a few minutes only to have something else get worse.”
DocProf seemed to take the sarcasm in stride. He'd met a lot of stubborn and proud creatures in his day, but he was a healer. And as a healer, it was his job to cut through teh crap and get down to business. "At least you're not screaming just now, sure. Coherent it is." DocProf ran through a few other quick tests. So it wasn't a concussion at least. That was good news, he could attempt a proper healing then. "What's your mutation, son?"
He listened and nodded. "And the problem..? You have any idea before I lay hands on you and attempt to heal whatever it is?" Sure, he'd see a vision of how it happened, but that didn't cover all angles. DocProf wanted all the information he could get before going into someone's head.
After more nodding and hmming DocProf raised his hands to either side of David's head. "I'm gonna try to heal you. I'll be able to see how it happened and you might feel a little warmth. Just try to stay still..." He touched his time weathered hands to David's temples and the area immediately began to glow with a golden hue.
Ghost stood lamely to the side near Jax-san as she had so many other times when the good doctor was healing. The light was impressive, the healing warm and comforting, but she just wasn't sure how it meshed with David's mutation. Was it like trying to heal the internet?
Ghost offered an equally lame smile to Jax. Her words were somewhere between a whisper and a softly spoken word so that she did not disturb teh healing process. "It'll be alright. The Doc is a very capable healer. Saved my bacon plenty of times." She scrathed the back of her head.
David gave the Doc an annoyed look after his screaming comment, it wasn't everyday he felt like his head was splitting open. He kept his mouth shut though, kept his thoughts to himself. He didn't know this guy but it seemed like Ghost trusted him, and David trusted Ghost, so if she was bringing him here, then it was probably safe.
"I can hook into the Internet with my brain, and from there download any information." He said whicle trying to control his breathing. The Doctor was listening while running some other tests. David knew the problem, and wanted to see if the man could really figure it out on his own, but the pain had other plans. Given the choice, David would tell the man whatever he needed to know to make it stop. "The problem is I think I have a virus." He said attempting to contain his composure, he pushed the doctors hand away and rubbed his temples, as if it would help. "A computer Virus." He grunted.
When the doctor raised his hands up David started to jerk back, not aware of the doctor's powers. He was already in pain, which the doctor and others knew. But he didn't want to admit that doctors made him nervous, something he was embarrassed that he never got over. Once the doctor explained what he was doing David let him do it.
Through the pain and mental fatigue he could still feel the warmth, and sensed the glow. At first he felt the adrenaline shoot through him from the nervousness, but it soon went away. Despite David's attitude towards the man he still hoped he was as good as he seemed. This wasn't an ordinary disease, but of course this wasn't an ordinary Doc

Watching all of this was like watching a sci-fi tv show, and Jax was a bit overwhelmed. She could feel a niggling wisp in the back of her mind, an inkling of her own powers responding to her uncertainty and slight fear of the situation, but it was minor so she could control it. She just hoped that she wouldn’t see any needles or she would have to leave quickly to prevent her powers from activating.
Listening to David’s mutation was almost surreal, and if she wasn’t watching him suffer because of it, Jaxon would have been jealous of something so easily hidden and so useful. At Ghost’s whisper, Jax turned her head slightly to hear her better, and then responded in the same tone. “I hope so… because this is so weird.” Realizing that what she had said might come across badly, she made a face and corrected herself slightly, “I mean, I’ve never seen anything like this, not that you are weird.… I didn't know that there were mutants who could do this stuff.”
David’s reaction to the doctor’s first touch made Jax nervous, but she squished it as best as she could, and it got easier as David seemed to relax under the older man’s hands.
Jax seemed a bit nervous. “...this is so weird.... I mean, I’ve never seen anything like this, not that you are weird.… I didn't know that there were mutants who could do this stuff.” She tried to cover it up with more words, but Ghost was already giggling to herself. She honestly was the same way when she first came here.
"You get used to it, promise..." and then it occurred to her that Jax might not even be a mutant. "unless, of course, you don't~ I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to." She laughed realizing she was still the same after all this time. Ghost scratched the back of her head. "Sorry... if it's weired... or whatever."
The good doctor's eyes closed and his bushy brows knit together in concentration. He saw internal hemorrhaging and synapses irregularly. He did not, however, see the internet. So while he could relieve the pain and possibly even contain the virus of sorts, he was by no means curing David. The glow and the warm fuzzies receded as DocProf pulled back his hands from David's temples.
"I'm not sure that worked." He commented, face scrunched. The doctor took off his glasses and cleaned them on his coat. It bothered him when there was something he could not heal. It happened so rarely that others mutations came between him and the healing. "It should feel better at least."
Finally, relief; relief from the pain and mental overload. He could see on the Doctors face, however, and could tell that this wasn't the best situation. The doctor did something, he was apparently able to stop the virus from continuing to wreak havoc. It was cornered in his brain, blocked for the time being, but David could still feel it.
David didn't know medical science, so he wasn't sure exactly what the doctor did, but he did know computers. He assumed the doctor did the same thing an anti virus program does. He quarantined the virus and the program it was in, in this case that program was the part of the brain that controlled his power. David wasn't sure, but if he was right then even accessing his power would free the virus again to move on, something David did NOT want.
"The pain is gone." He said with relief to the others. "I didn't know you were a mutant, though it's not surprising." He told the doctor, his mind sidetracked on what to do. "I can't use my power now, so I don't know how to stop it." He said in a depressed tone. It was a mixed feeling, yes the pain was gone, but now what, it was like he was handicapped. He always relied on his power to easily figure things out, now he had to do things the old fashioned way. Then an idea struck him, he may not need his power to fix this. "Do you have a computer I can use?!" He asked in an excited tone.

With a shrug, Jaxon missed the almost questioning tone in Ghost’s voice, “I could get used to it, probably will have to at some point. It’s just a new kind of weird for me…”
After a few more minutes, the doctor finished but didn’t seem satisfied, and his words confirmed that. David was looking much better in only a few minutes and hearing that his pain was gone, Jaxon breathed a sigh of relief. She really didn’t like seeing people in pain.
“So you had a computer virus, and it is stuck in your head? But you can’t use your powers to get rid of it?” Jaxon was trying to follow this and wanted to make sure she understood what was going on. “So you need a computer to get rid of it? Can you do that?”
DocProf nodded and nodded some more as David related his current status. "This is a place of learning for gifted people, son. Can't rightly teach them without knowing what they've been through or where they could go." DocProf went to make some notes in his office and wash his hands. He needed to get this on paper before he forgot what he'd done.
"Well, you could always..." But David was half a step ahead of her asking or a computer. "uhh.. yeah, there are some computers in the library. Books too."
Jax-san seemed to be trying to sum up the problem so that she was sure to understand. Ghost appreciated the help translating just what was going on, but really she was quite useless except in her role as a guide. And that she could do quite well. "If we're clear to go..?" Ghost leaned precariously on one leg as she checked on DocProf in his office. The older gentleman waved a calloused hand at her dismissively. "Then we'll be headed back out this way." Ghost offered David a hand getting down from the exam table before she motioned for Jax and David to follow.
She led them back through the administrative hall into the grand hall and to the doors that opened to a multilevel Library. A lab of perhaps 8 computers were on the main floor, but one or two were up on the second as well.
"Glad we have a library then" He said with a grin. David accepted Ghosts hand and hopped off the table, he was more then happy to get out of there. He calmly followed Ghost to the library, he had seen the place before, but never really spent any time there.
"So Jaxon, it seems you're getting the guided tour." He said jokingly. The three of them entered the library and David took a moment to eye the place out and find a good workstation. He scouted the place and decided to head up to the second floor to one of the computers. He hopped up the steps at a good pace, wanting to quickly fix this, just in case whatever the doc did was temporary.
Once he grabbed a seat he waited for the computer to boot up. He was hoping the computers would have their own anti virus program, it would be easier then having to go download a new one then change it to fit his purpose.

It was disconcerting to see someone, who had been in apparent agony moments ago, hopping off the bed like nothing had happened. Following Ghost and David, trying not to look concerned about all this, Jaxon logged this info away to examine later. Right now she would just go with the flow and act like all this was normal.
Walking into the library, Jaxon stopped and turned around slowly. The mass of books would give her father a heart attack, and Jax was astounded by the sheer number. She had never seen this many books in a private library. After a moment of shocked silence, she caught up with the other two, catching David’s comment about the tour.
Jaxon laughed, “Yeah, I guess I am.” Following the suddenly spry David, she lifted an eyebrow, resisting the urge to comment. Instead she asked about the mansion. “So, what is this place? I mean, a mansion full of mutants…” She was looking back and forth between Ghost and David, watching David use the computer with some interest. “How does that happen?”
Similar to David, she reached for a chair, pulling it out and settling in. It seemed there was quite a bit she had to learn about mutants and the resources available to them.
Ghost trailed behind David and Jax-san wondering if she was really even needed anymore. She could get back to placing orders from the Mansion perhaps. She pondered this train of thought until David had taken a seat and ignored the two girls entirely. Jax seemed confused and asked about the Mansion. Ghost tilted her head slooowly to the side.
"David didn't... I guess not not, huh?" She scrambled to get her thought together to give Jax-san an acceptable response. She didn't blame David for not telling her anything if he was busy fighting mental fires or viruses or whatever he did up there when he went glossy-eyed. "This is a school for gifted people. The teachers here teach school subjects and subjects especially geared toward those with special abilities. We get to be ourselves here, quirks and all." She nodded. That about summed it up except for one last important detail. "We all believe that humans and mutants can some day get along." at least, the X-men did.
As the computer booted up David turned in his seat to face the two. He listened to Ghost as she gave a description of the school. "Yeah it's sort of a haven for mutants to come and not worry about how normal people would view them or treat them." He told her, though he realized how that might sound "Not that their is anything wrong with you at all, it's just that a lot of normal people are kind of stand offish, but you seem pretty open about it." He said trying to save it.
He turned back as the computer finished booting up and immediately clicked on the default anti-virus program "This should work the way I want, I jsut need to do some modifications." He opened up the options and changed some quick changes, then started getting deeper into the programming. "I just need to change some parameters for it, that way it only seeks out my virus and deletes it without any other brain cells I might need." He said typing away.
He realized as he typed he was ignoring the two. "Uhmm I just want to say thank you both, Ghost for helping me get to the doctor." He said turning to the two. "And especially Jaxon for saving me, despite being a stranger and a mutant, and taking me back here to the mansion." He said giving them a thankful smile. He then turned back to the computer, and his smile fell away. He didn't want to show them the worry that was going through his head. The threat of losing brain cells was greater then he revealed, it would be like a reboot of his brain, and if he made a mistake he could lose more then he wanted.

Listening to Ghost explain the mansion, Jaxon nodded. “Right, just like the Valentine’s Ball. That was to improve human mutant relations…” But that had been from a rich human standpoint, not a mutant needing help position. So it made sense that all the mutants that had been at the party had to live somewhere, so why not all together. “Very interesting and useful it seems… I mean, without this place, I don’t know what would have happened to David. And you said this kind of stuff happens frequently, so it makes sense.”
Jaxon wished she had known about this place sooner. She might not have had so much trouble dealing with her powers if she had been able to get help from other mutants. Like when she met Venus. That had been helpful, just knowing that there were other mutants with powers that weren’t pretty or hide-able.
Jaxon stared at David for a moment, before she was able to come up with something to say. “I don’t know, I mean, there are bad people in every group, normal or mutant. In all fairness, I don’t think you can blame people for being afraid of mutants, you guys have powers that could kill, and mutants have a right to be scared of humans, humans out number you guys a lot…” Jax shrugged, her tone more factual than argumentative, “I don’t really see the problem everyone has, but that might be because I’ve never experienced it.” Thinking about herself, if she was different before she had her powers, she added, “People are people, powers or not…” Jaxon liked to think she would have helped anyone the way she helped David, but she couldn’t know for sure. Would she have helped him before she had powers?
Deciding to change the subject, and hopefully not get her ass kicked, she looked over David’s shoulder watching what he was doing. “So after you get rid of the virus you have, I hope you are going to get a firewall or… you know, something.” Shifting uncomfortably in her chair, trying not to look like a trouble maker, despite the fact that she was, she didn’t mean any thing she had said to be mean or hurtful.
"Brain cells? Are you sure you're qualified... or... you know what you're doing...?" She wasn't trying to doubt David it was just that it all sounded very serious and so very out of her realm of expertise. "Maybe you can test it... somewhere... first?" She shrugged. It was the best advice she could think to give.
Jaxon mentioned the ball. "Oh, were you there?" Ghost really couldn't decide if Jax-san was a mutant or not and did not feel appropriate just asking right out so she listened to Jax's words carefully for clues. "It is nice to know there is a place to go. I am glad you know and feel free to stop by if you ever need help somehow... DocProf will patch just about anyone up as long as you say please." She grinned. DocProf was a very sweet man, she really couldn't understand those who didn't get along with him.
One thing Jax-san said sent Ghost's head nodding for sure. “People are people, powers or not…” She grinned. "Sounds like you'll fit in just great."
