The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daria and Mike made they're way to the front gates and walked through. Just as they did a large black van sped off so fast it left skid marks. It was unmarked.
On the side walk was a box, not very big, with a letter adressed to Daria taped to the top.

Daria laughed.
"Thats how the people at the base work. They like to stay low key." Daria said. "Thats why that van was across the street. They'll probably set it on fie now that they're done with it." She joked.
She went over to the box and picked it up, taking the letter off of the box with her tail and unfolding it with her hand.
She held it close so Mike could read along silently with her.Congratualtions on becoming an X-Men, Daria. We miss you over here and hope you visit soon, but until then we sent you a little gift. Every hero needs a uniform.
Enjoy! Love, Linda and Affiliates.
"Affiliates." Daria snorted. "Linda is so sweet." Daria joked. "She's known her employees for about, what, 16 years? And I've known them for a good while but can she say Linda and Friends? Nope."

Daria laughed.
"No, I am too." She looked around first and then walked back through the gates and over to a tree.
She used the nail on her index finger to open the box in one swipe. The top popped open and she pulled back the tissue paper.
The uniform was all black leather complete with gloves that parted at the finger tips for her claws. It was surprisingly light and the boots were flexible since Daria was always climbing and hopping.
"Okay, that's hot," Mike grinned, looking it over. "I think I'm going to need a new uniform... but I think I'll wait until AFTER the sewer-crawling mission."

Daria laughed looking through the rest of the box. There wasn't anything more except a birthday card from Linda and Jacob, a scientist who worked closely with Daria at the base's lab.
There was a note, typed that had the uniforms feature's written on it.
Water Resistant
70% laser resistant
Teflon lining in torso
Padding in elbows, shoulders, chest, knees, forearms and shins. "I'm still wondering how its still so light. Linda is holding out on me technology wise." she laughed.
"Yeah, I might not wear it to the sewer thingy. Or...I might. I'm not sure." she flicked her ears and tail cutly then stuffed the contents back into the box. "Whatever. That mission is taking a long time anyways."

Daria laughed.
"Pay?" she closed the bag and stood up as he stood up. "No, there is no paying. Unless they ask you for a favor. And they might. I'll call her and ask, I'm sure they can do it. She concentrated, holding the box tightly, squeezing until it dissapeared and her hands clapped together like some wild magic trick. She swooned for a minute and cocked her head as the throbbing in her back became intense. It died down after a few minutes.
"Too lazy to go to our room." she explained and stretched for her back's sake. "Yeah, lets find her."

"When I teleport myself my back just hurts from the fight with Desiree. I don't feel a throbbing because its not as intense as the pain." Daria answered. She forgot Mike could "sense" her pain. "But I usually notice it when I teleport something else. Thats the farthest I've ever sent something since I learned how to do it. I mean, I expect it to make me dizzy or tired but the back thing." She shrugged. I'm fine I'm sure."
It is some time past midnight, on a full moon. A yellow taxi stops outside the gates. Axel pays the driver, gets out, then opens the boot and takes out a modest black suitcase. He waves as the taxi pulls away and a leather gloved hand waves back to him through a tinted window.
Axel walks up to the gates and strokes the bars nervously. The mansion looks homely enough, but the windows are dark and the trees rustle spookily in the wind.
"Nothing to do but wait" says Axel to himself.
He pauses a moment to create a sturdy but temporary chair out of the dirt ground, then he sits down to wait for someone to notice him outside.
Sometime around 4am, he dozes off to sleep, slumping to the left slightly, emitting gentle sounds of slumber.
