The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

*Tricity looked the newcomer up and down until she noticed another person sleeping outside of the gate, just beyond sight unless you looked around the side of the gate and against the brick wall of the perimeter.* "Excuse me..." *Tricity walked past the opening of the gate and bent down to be level with the chair as the person slept there. She touched his shoulder to wake him.* "Hello? Are you alright?!"
*wakes with a bit of fright* *stands up, using the gate to support him. The chair dissolves back into dirt beneath* "Oh, hello. Sorry I arrived late last night and thought it better to wait until dawn rather than wake someone with the buzzer thing" "You must be Tricity"
*offers hand for shaking*
"I'm Axel Pike, I've heard about this mansion that you run, and that you may be able to help me. What is it exactly that you do here?" *he asked after hand was shaken (assuming it gets shaken)*
"Excuse me, but I just got back from a mission (See Jaguar alcotrass mission, still in progress.) and was hoping I could have a room here. My name is Jaguar. Also, Tricity, I have an... Important subject that must be taken up with a telempathic, if there is one here."
*She shook Axel's hand and then nodded to Jaguar, closing the gates again as they came through to the lawn and gravel path.* "It's nice to meet you both. Before you guys shack up here at the mansion, there are a few questions that have to be answered. First, I need to know if your mutations are dangerous to others and or yourself."
"Well. Mine can be, If I let it out. This is not a subject that would be wise to discuss here. I have been able to control It for 15 years, but It is still fighting to control me." He says, with a grim face, "But I think I'll be fine while I am here."
*Tricity nodded.* "Alright...well than you should visit the DocProf in the infirmary on the second floor. He's good with understanding mutations and trying to help people out with them. We'll definitely discuss it a little later in my room slash office." *They continued down the lawn toward the front gates.* "You can head up there now and speak with the DocProf. Make sure to fill out the new resident papers he'll give you and then find a room somewhere on the second floor, ok? Axel and I will talk about his mutation for now and I'll meet up with you later on."
"Fine. I just got back from a mission and I'm ready to crash." he walks through the gate and heads into the school, wondering if he could get a job here.
Raphael watched the exchanges at the front gate, not wanting to interrupt anyone, from the opposite side of the drive. After the visitors had left he walked over to the gate, dropped his duffel bag at his feet, and reached out and punched the buzzer, waiting patiently for a response. This place seemed friendly enough, perhaps he could find a home here afterall.
*Tricity's radio went off and Johnathon informed her there was another person at the gate. She spun around and saw the new person standing there.* "Damn, we've been busy lately." *She went over to the gate and opened it once more.* "Hey, I'm Tricity. Nice to meet you. What's your name?"
He offered a smile, and a wave as he picked his duffel bag up. "Raphael Sevresch... And you're?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow, then looking past her and at the Mansion. "Are you the Head Mistress of this establishment?"
"I am, though please don't refer to me like that...Tricity is fine." *She said smiling. After closing the gate again she turned to while offering new resident papers to fill out.* "I have to ask you a few standard and required questions before you move in officially. Are your powers dangerous to anyone and or yourself?"
He gave a nod, then hefted his duffel bag up over his shoulder and stepped through the gate, listening to her. "Ah... Depends on what you term dangerous... It certainly hurts me to use one of them, and... I've hurt others with the same one, however, my other... Abilities... are harmless." He replied, hand taking the new resident papers from her. "That... won't keep me from being here, right?"
He stopped, and dropped his duffel bag once more. "Well... I heal mighty quick. That one would be difficult to show." He said, as he bit his lip a moment, then went on as he turned to give her a profile of himself. "The other is also difficult to show, though I've been told my eyes glow when it manifests." His eyes had begun glowing a dull green. "I see what I term 'life auras'... can see 'em through walls too." He nodded, then flinched a moment as his bone blade sprung through the skin on his elbow and out just over a foot. "This last one is pretty obvious... and is the dangerous one." He said, rather quietly, eyes downcast a moment as he waited judgement.
"WOW! That's...incredible. I've never seen a mutant with a bone mutation." *She said, examining the bone and touching it out of curiousity. Then Tricity looked up and smiled at him.* "Well, you mutation isn't dangerous to anyone, so no worries. You can pick out an empty room on the second floor, near the guys' dorms. Welcome to the institute." *They started ascending the stone stairs to go inside.* "If you have any questions, let me know, ok?"
