The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Sound is vibration transmitted through a solid, liquid, or gas; particularly, sound means those vibrations composed of frequencies capable of being detected by ears. For humans, hearing is limited to frequencies between about 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz (20 kHz), with the upper limit generally decreasing with age..."
How, boring. The guide's voice droned on and on as he explained the museum''s exhibit on the science of sound. To Nunally, it wasn't that sound was a boring topic, it simply the way it was presented in the establishment. Gray walls, fluorescent lighting (which was something she HATED), and the unenthusiastic tour guide made it that way and gave her the chance to let her mind roam. 'I wonder if I left my purse in the school bus. I hope so, all of my money is in there...I need to remind my roommate about using up all of the hot water in the shower. I have to wait fifteen minutes before I'm able to even get used to the temperature!'
"Ma'am? Are you paying attention? Miss...Nunally Biermann?" She blinked. "Yes?" A few snickers were heard in the crowd of her fellow classmates, her teacher stepped in this time, "Pay attention! You're all going to write a 5 paragraph essay on this trip!" A few sounds of discomfort was emitted from the class, the bespectaled older women gave the crowd a stern look which shut them up for the being.
"Now, if you'll see here we have an exhibit on..."
The others all followed the tour guide, while she stayed behind. She feel something, this strange feeling of dread, that something was going to happen and she, in some shape or form, was going to be involved in it. A small pang in her heart threathened that it most certainly had something to do with her "Insturments". She hoped that no innocentbystanders would get hurt.
David loved museums, the smell sights, the smells, and just the overall creativity, and he always loved to see the great inventions, and wonder if he could remake it. David stared closely at the exhibits, his mind buzzing "I wonder If I could shrink one of these listening things to the size of a hearing aid and expand those frequencies, that would be awesome." He thought eavesdropping on the instructor and class. He wasn't here for the class, but he always loved to learn more about that stuff.
David rolled his eyes at the older woman's scolding, she sure was strict about the student's paying attention. She was like some stereotypical old teacher, it was funny. The group moved on and left the woman who had been yelled at behind, he hoped she hadn't actually been that affected by what the woman said. He walked up casually next to her, watching the class walk off. "Hey ignore her, some teachers are just always angry. Just don't let it rub off on ya." He said jokingly.

She slightly jumped, but quickly regained her composure when she realized that he was just this random man trying to console her. She smiled, "Nah, she ain't a teacher, she a slave driver." She covered her mouth, embarrassed. "That..came out wrong." She thought she finally got rid of her ugly accent, it came up now and again, but not like this.
