The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Seeing her smile was all he needed, brushing back her yellow dis-colored hair. Geist untied the kerchief wrapped around his fist and tied it to her wrist, giving her a soft grin before hoisting her up in his arms as he stood. Geists' main objective was finding an exit as quickly as possible, preferably one that was guard free he though to himself. Making his way out of the cell and down the opposite way he came in Geist went through a set of hallways and corridors searching for the way out. Stopping for a sec he looked down at Jaya with concern at how weak she had become in this place, seeing her in a state unlike her usual off the wall spirit. Trying not too dwell on matters by looking at the glass as half full, Geist proceeded through a pair of double doors that opened into a long room strung with powerful sun lamps and a door on the opposite side. Over the door read a sign, "Exit? wonder where that leads too haha" grinning as he slowly approached the passage out. Holding Jaya with one arm he reached for the door handle that would set her free... "And what makes you think you can leave here alive?" Not turning to look back but instantly recognizing the voice as that of the man who kidnapped Jaya, Geist grasped onto the door handle and gave his reply, "Cant say that im sorry to run out like this, but sadly ive got a van to catch.. so for now we're gonna have to postpone the part where i shove that trenchcoat of yours down your throat." Turning the handle, a sigh permiated from Geist as the sound of keys chimed behind him. The being door locked, Geist turned around and was greeted by a pistol aim'd at his chest. Placing Jaya gently onto the ground he put his hands up high and quiered their assailent, "So we're back to this again, ya?" Tightening his muscles in an effort to feel out and kickstart his powers, Geist now stood helpless, at the literal mercy of the cloaked gunman.
Jaya lay there, feeling helpless and not very helpful. Her life was flashing before her eyes. She could tell that Geist was suffering from a loss of ability just as she was - if he hadn't she'd probably be frozen because she wouldn't be able to balance out his powers with her own. But there was something, There's always something, she thought. Jaya relaxed, not like it was very hard to do from her current state, but she relaxed nonetheless. You can do it, she kept repeating in her head. You can do it. She focused all of the energy she had left, not much, but she hoped it was enough, and she thought about one thing...
...It was a cold day and Jaya was still new to the city. She was still learning: where to sleep, where to get food, where things were. It was getting dark and she was trying to think up a way to keep warm. Focusing on nothing else, Jaya rounded the corner of the alley she'd spent the last night in. There was someone else in it, her spot was taken, the man was asleep and snoring loudly. She decided to leave him to his own and continued on, she went down roads she had never been down, a sign that she still had some of her small-town innocence. It was after dark when she heard footsteps behind her, she turned, but it was too late. A man was on her, holding up a gun. "Give me all your money!" he demanded. "I haven't got any," she replied, startled. The man spun the gun around in his hands. "Listen lady, I know how to use this thing, hand it all over, now." He tightened his grip on the trigger, threatening to pull it....
...The trench coat man and his gun, it was the focus of all her attention right now. All she needed was for him to pull the trigger. And for her plan to work. It doesn't take much to spin a gun. Jaya stayed as still as she could, she needed as much energy as she could get. She stopped breathing so that she wouldn't waste any energy with her lungs, she stopped blinking, she stopped...BANG! Jaya had just enough strength to open her eyes and see the man standing there, with a rather surprised look on his face and a backward-facing gun still in his hands. Jaya managed to get out one, small, triumphant laugh before she passed out completely.
