The Stones

A secret government department called the Mutant Experimental Programming Agency, or MEPA, is interested in a green gem that has certain powers in controlling mutants. Unbeknownst to Tricity, she had the gem for several years, hidden away in a trunk and forgotten. Her past caught up with her and some men came and forcefully took the stone at the mansion. These men were eventually found by MEPA and the stone was handed over forcefully as well.

General Whitmore, the man in charge of this secret agency, has been doing research on finding certain mutants to do the experiments on. He's stolen the records of registration information of mutants from major cities to find the specific mutations he would like to experiment with. As he had a half dozen mutants in his facilities, Whitmore began experimentation. After surgically placing a very tiny shard of the gem in the lower backs or the backs of necks on the mutants, Whitmore tried to release the power of the green gem, but nothing worked.

What General Whitmore didn't know was the stone has a partner...a red stone which is needed to activate the stone. The only mutants who knows the powers of the red stone are Tricity and Gorgon. Because of Tricity's traumatic experience when she was younger, she can not recall how the stone works. Gorgon, being obviously interested in different stones, is the one who knows the damage of what the red stone can do if activated through Whitmore and the green gem being implanted in mutants. Tricity tried to inquire about the stone a couple times to Gorgon, but she wanted nothing to do with the Head Mistress because of their rocky relationship.

So as of now, Whitmore is out to find the stone through whatever means necessary. He's inquiring dozens of mutants, threatening them in giving him information on the whereabouts of the red stone. He knows of Xavier's institutes and has visited the schools before, harassing Tricity about the stones. With no success there, he is becoming more dangerous as he greedily searches for the red stone and answers to the gems' mysteries.

Lol. That's what I thought when I read the title. Props to the Rolling Stones. THe plot sounds intriguing.

At this point, General Whitmore is no closer to finding the red stone, but neither are the students at the Xavier Institute. The match has been set, though. General Whitmore made that abundantly clear during his latest unannounced visit to the institute, demanding to speak with certain unspecified students. His visit was cut short by a misunderstanding that lead his men to open fire. The soldiers were driven off by Tricity and her students.

The next day, though, Whitmore upped the stakes when he attacked Tricity and Kaine while they were walking in the woods near the Institute. Kaine was abducted, and Whitmore informed Tricity that Orion was under his control as well, though it wasn't stated whether this was by Orion's consent or against his wishes.

kaine has returned to the inistute and hasa been given the mission to assassinate tricity with the stone implanted in him he knows nothing of what had happened in the last 3 days except waking up back at the institute after being abducted

General Whitmore has upped the stakes, blatantly walking into the mansion to liberate the assassin, Eliza Williams. Using a surprising knowledge of the Mansion's security systems, he did, indeed, liberate her, but not before encountering resistance from the senior students. During the fight, several of Whitmore's men were killed, but Cassiel was shot three times in return, and more disturbingly, his grandfather, a federal judge in high standing, was gunned down as well.

Whitmore escaped with Eliza, but was turned upon by the assassin. It had been learned that Eliza had worked for Whitmore, even being hired by him to unsuccessfully attack Kage Hunter, after which the general had turned on her. She killed his remaining soldiers, stabbed him in the leg, and bailed out of the helicopter with a parachute.

With the impending threats of federal investigations looming on the horizon, Tricity and her people have redoubled their efforts to locate the red stone and Whitmore's base.

As if a dream come true for Tricity, Gorgon called her demanding the return of the kidnapped mutants. After some explaining, Tricity convinces Gorgon she doesn't have them and tells her about Whitmore and the stones. The two women had spoken about the stones before, Gorgon being the one who knew most about them. Gorgon recently is suffering from memory loss and can not remember the red stone's location. As the two were meeting, they were interrupted by Blunderbore who came from the sewers. Fleeing as fast as they could, Gorgon and Tricity left to talk more about the stones, leaving Blunderbore and Eliza to fight.

In the meantime, after returning from Ohio, Cassiel and Daria learned from the newly-arrived Technobot stationed at the campus that Daria had a green stone implanted in her back.

The implications of this, an implantation with no apparent abduction, are just beginning to be felt. How easy is it to be implanted? And just who is there that could have been implanted without knowing it?

Tricity and Cassiel met with Gorgon in the sewers where they discussed more about the stones. Gorgon revealed that she had recovered the memories about the stone and the red one was in the Museum of Natural History. The only way of getting the stone would be to steal it when the attraction was closed. Tricity and Cassiel said goodbye to Gorgon and decided they would meet with Gorgon the next night to retrieve the stones after planning and preparation before the mission.

Whitmore had revealed to Tricity that he in fact knows the whereabouts of the red stone, but Tricity isn't sure if he's telling the truth or not. He's threatened to have men within a few miles of the mansion in case the X-Men try and interfere. If the X-Men confront him during the after hours of the mansion, they could face a huge arsenal from the General. It's looking like the X-Men, along with Gorgon and the Morlocks, might have to take the stone during the day... Also, Tricity isn't sure if Whitmore is bluffing and hoping the mutants will lead him to the stone after threatening them.
