The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character
Personality: Gavin has a bit of a rough outer shell and doesn’t let people in very easily. He tends to be somewhat sarcastic and cynical, and has a pretty bad temper once provoked. And when you first meet him, he’s usually the shy, reserved type and can be a sometimes cruel; but once you get to know him, he’s actually a big softy that likes to make people laugh.

Morality
Neutral. Everyone has their good days and bad days, and it’s the same for Gavin.
Mutations
Mutation description: Gavin possesses the psionic ability to teleport himself, his clothes, and a certain amount of additional mass, such as other people. He crosses through to another dimension when teleporting from one place to another, but it usually happens so quickly that he is unaware of it. And when he appears at his destination, he stays in the same state as in which he left. For example, if he is sitting down when he teleports, he would land at his destination still sitting down; or if he is running as he teleports, he would continue that kinetic energy and still be running when he reappears. Then when it comes to different objects that may be blocking his intended destination, he will just appear inside of them as long as they aren’t solid objects, which in that case, he’d end up just outside of it. For instance, if a car was in his way, he’d simply just appear on the inside of the car; but if a person was blocking his landing site, he’d appear right next to and bumping into said person.
Strengths: He has the ability to teleport portions of different mass away, such as another person’s body part, basically performing an amputation. But as long as he doesn’t lose or destroy said body part, he is able to teleport it back into place. And though he is able to splice other objects or people, Gavin moves as a whole unit, and doesn’t leave any part of himself behind.
Weaknesses: Gavin must see the place he intends to teleport to beforehand or it becomes very dangerous since he may end up getting lost in the alternate dimension that he has to pass through (But in most cases, just having a picture of a place he has not been to before will suffice). The longer that he is in the alternate dimension; his energy drains constantly which could potentially end up stranding him there forever or just killing him altogether if were to get lost. So with each teleportation he loses some strength, which corresponds to how far he travels, because that correlates to how long he is in the alternate dimension. If he were to teleport across a room, he'd virtually lose no strength; but if he were to teleport across the city, he'd lose quite a bit of his strength. And since he has not had a lot of experience with his mutation yet, teleporting across the city is about as far as he can go in one teleport.

History
Gavin was born into a normal middle-class family in Boston, Massachusetts. His father was a well respected politician in their community and his mother was a professor at the local university; so they really weren’t around to spend much quality time with their children. And thus being born a twin, there was always a high level of competition in their household, competing for the small amount of attention that their parents gave them. So once Gavin’s powers started to manifest, he made sure to keep them secret, worried that his parents would love him less.
The first sign that Gavin was different appeared while in grade school. He was sitting in class as normal, trying to stay awake during the usual boring lecture. Then just as he began to doze off, his head slumped onto his desk and a second later, he was lying in the middle of the hallway right outside his classroom. And sure enough, no one seemed to notice his little disappearance or even that he was missing at all. Scared and confused, Gavin decided to cut the day short, running home to lock himself in his room. And of course, as his parents inquired as to why he was home from school so early, he just lied and told them that he didn’t feel well.
Then as Gavin grew older, the uncontrollable teleports became more frequent. He’d be sitting in his room, reading or doing homework, and without a seconds notice, he’d be in the kitchen. For a few years, he had successfully kept it a secret from his parents, but then there was one incident he couldn’t hide from them. He had been in the basement collecting the clean laundry, when a sudden teleportation carried him into the living room, where his mother was watching t.v. Having no other alternative, Gavin confessed that it had been happening quite a bit. And of course, his parents were rather shaken; but they wouldn’t accept the fact that their son was a mutant, but rather considered him “ill.” Once Gavin graduated from high school, he decided it was enough and he could not deal with the constant ridicule from his family. He quite frankly knew it’d be better to live on his own than have to deal with everyday visits with highly paid doctors that were supposed to “cure” him. So finally building up the courage, Gavin left his home for good, without some much as a goodbye note. Teleporting to the one place he felt he could escape, he landed on the busy streets of New York.
Roleplay
Where did you learn about this site?: Google-Magic Do you have any other existing characters, if so who: No Sample RP: Gavin made his way through the town at the latest hour of the night. Heading back to the apartment after a long night at one of the local bars he was able to sneak into with much ease—he seemed to be pretty good at that. He made a turn onto a dark narrow street, trying to figure out some of the short cuts that lead back to the apartment, but soon enough realized that it was dead end. Turning around to head back to the main road, Gavin heard a sound behind him, knowing that he found himself some trouble. “Where’re yah going buddy? Don’t you want to join us for a little fun?” He heard a scruffy voice behind him that ended with a laugh.
“As much as I’d love you join you, I already have prior engagements.” Gavin replied as three large men emerged from the shadows and began to charge at him. Teleporting out their reach, he sat on the awning of the closest building, smirking down on them as they scattered about trying to figure out what just happened. “What? Never seen someone do that before, eh?” Gavin shot at them smugly as he jumped down in front of the now scared men. “Time to have little fun, right?” He asked mockingly, before he returned the favor and lunged at the men, but teleported before he made contact with them. Shaking his head, he landed in front of the apartment and laughed to himself. “That’s the last time I try to be normal and walk home.”
Google-Magic sounds like an excellent brand of chewy candy with some sort of mysterious dark liquid inside. *says this to explain why she's noming the corner of your profile*
