The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.
MRO is an intermediate to advanced writing level original character, original plot X-Men RPG. We've been open and active since October of 2005. You can play as a mutant, human, or Adapted— one of the rare humans who nullify mutant powers by their very existence. Goodies, baddies, and neutrals are all welcome.

The Survey Results:

The “Other” votes represented in-between opinions: 3 leaned more towards “M for Mature”, and one leaned back towards “T for Teen.” A fifth “Other” vote was removed from the survey for irrelevance to this particular issue, hence why the votes total to 41.[/ul]
The New Rating (and two rule changes):
That means keep the violence non-graphic, self-censor your character's language, fade to black in the bedroom, and steer clear of illegal mind-altering substances. For more detailed descriptions, please see the MRO Ratings guide.
After listening to player concerns that were raised during this, we’ve also tweaked Rule 11 slightly (change in bold):
11. No god modding. This means you cannot control another character's actions. You cannot have your character use knowledge that they as a character had no way of knowing, even if you as a writer know something. During a battle you must let your opponent decide if your attack hits them or misses. You must allow other players a chance to respond to your actions; don't write so many actions happening in one post that other characters seem like they are standing still while everything happens. This includes the killing and/or maiming of NPCs, and destruction of property. See the Newb Guide to Writing Roleplay for more information.
[/ul]
What does this mean for MRO?
be treated as god modding.
Baddies, Goodies, and Neutrals: make sure to communicate with your RP partners! If you're planning a triple homicide, make sure to clear it with the other players in your thread--not everyone wants to be a party to such violence, even if they don't want to play hero. If you'd like to save an NPC someone is aiming to kill (or kill an NPC someone is trying to save), give your partners an OOC head's up, and work things out between yourselves. If you'd rather just play things by ear, feel free to launch attacks/saves on NPCs as you would with a PC: write the action and its aim, but let the other player decide how successful it would be.
If you have any questions about these rule revisions and/or on how they’ll affect your characters, please ask us! That goes especially for the players of our more violent characters: T for Teen will be a decrease in the previously allowed level of graphic violence. As some of you are aware, for most of MRO’s history of graphic violence went entirely unmoderated; it’s only in the past few months that the Mod Team has sought to tone things back down towards the PG-13 rating our old rules claimed, and we were starting with only the cases that were either extremely graphic or extremely public (ie, in mass brawl threads). We apologize for how that inconsistent modding has furthered the ratings confusion; from now on, we will aim to be consistent with our enforcement.
These rules will effect posts from today (June 18retro-edit: 21) onwards: we will not be asking for re-writes to posts already made, so if you would like to run snippets of past threads by us to gauge whether they’d still be kosher under the new rules, feel free to do so.[/ul]
The Ratings Guide:
. As all members will henceforth be held to what it says, we ask that all members take the time to read it.[/ul]
Thanks again to everyone who voiced their opinion, and to Abyss for his respectful raising of this issue,
The Mod Team, Historian, Calliope, Sennyo, Blue Badger, and Mister Yuck
Behold: the new New York boards! In response to the rampant posting that's been drowning the main NYC board, we've tinkered with all the NYC-related boards to split up the traffic. Thank you to Ahorta for raising this topic, and to everyone who voiced their opinion in the discussion! The new boards and descriptions are:
NYC: Commercial Shops, malls, and businesses of the city.
NYC: Residential Apartments, homes, hotels, and card board boxes.
NYC: Recreational (formerly Times Square) Restaurants, bars, clubs, and tourist hot spots.
NYC: Green spaces (Formerly Central Park) The city's parks and beaches, including Central Park.
NYC: Legal and Educational Police stations, courthouses, town hall, libraries, and university campuses.
NYC: Shadowy places Alleys, sewers, wharfs, warehouses, and other dark corners.
NYC: At large (Formerly New York City) Hospitals, churches or streets: if it doesn't fit elsewhere in the city, it goes here..
Also introducing: Karma Week! Because really, why not take a week to rampantly up each other's karma scores? If you've been enjoying someone's posts, like talking to them in the Cbox, think their avatar is sweet, or just think they'd look better with a +1, hit that "exalt" button. Spread the <3.
The Lori skin has been updated! The pretty-but-unreadable blue has been replaced with a darker, also pretty, and much more readable green. Enjoy!
Proboards recently gave the Mods a new toy: at the bottom of every post is a new "Report to Mod" option. Reports then appear to all Moderators, in a central message system. It's pretty slick. If you happen to see something that needs reporting, want to ask a question on a post, etc, feel free to use this feature. Thank you!
General Reminders
Remember to keep your profiles and any posts you particularly care about backed up. Proboards. Server fires. It happens.
Remember that MRO Map? It's really been fleshed out lately, and given a main page link under the "MROverse" category at the top of the page. If you have a location to add, just shoot us an email at <MutantRevolver@gmail.com>.
Happy karma deluge,
The Mod Team Historian, Calliope, Sennyo, Blue Badger, and Mister Yuck
(sent Nov. 11) If you are interested in slaving away your free time in a position of dubious respect and large responsibility, boy do we have a job for you! All Mods work on a volunteer basis and as much fun as it may sound, it's also a lot of work. Please read over the requirements and think carefully if you will be able to fulfill the position.
New Mod Requirements Ability to load Gmail. We do most of the daily Modwork through here. If you can't load it, for whatever reason, we can't actually use you.
Ability to log onto MRO and the Mod email everyday, and post/reply to messages. Depending on the day, this could use five minutes of your free time, or it could take three hours. Usually it won't be too bad, but when things hit the fan, decisions need to be made quickly: hearing from all Mods helps keep those decisions fair, so we need Mods who can get online regularly.
Ability to stay polite and professional at all times, and be a good role model to other players both IC and out.
A strong and abiding addiction to love for MRO. We need long term Mods, yo.
Mod Responsibilities Mod mail duty. This includes handling new member applications, power growth requests, attribute profiles, and other miscellaneous e-mails that come through. You'll be trained in on this, never fear. The primary reason we need new Mods is to help handle the deluge of emails we get every week.
Mod Board discussions and decisions. We have discussions on everything, from player concerns to rule revisions to who gets to open the next bottle of brandy. This part is both easy and hard: you've got to share your opinions, comments, questions, and concerns with the rest of the Team, and you have to work with the rest of the Team to reach a consensus on the issue at hand. Once the final Mod Team decision is reached in private, you must be prepared to stand by it publically. We're allowed to have our own opinions on the Mod Board. Everywhere else, we are the Mod Borg: public Mod infighting does not help the site and is not allowed.
Confidentiality. New Mods are going to have access to pages and pages of past site dramas, and will get to take part in all the pages to come. They will learn more than they ever wanted to know about their fellow players. All Mod information must be kept confidential, both to protect the players involved and to shield the sites' innocents from the latest budding drama. The less people who know about what Player X is saying about Player Z's mother, the more everyone can just have fun and RP.
PM writing duty. When a decision is reached on the Mod Board, a PM usually follows. These can be happy PMs or sad PMs. Whoever's got the free time and motivation usually does the honors.
Question answering. As a Mod, players will ask you questions; if you have a good grasp of site rules and policies, most of these are easy to answer. If you're ever in doubt, you can always ask another Mod, or post on the Mod Board.
General look out duties. Keep an eye on threads, the Cbox, etc for any iffy behavior, and correct it where you see it, or bring it to the Mod Board for discussion.
Miscellaneous. We reserve the right to sell your soul to unforeseen Mod duties, as needed including but not limited to running the MotM contest, updating the Taken Mutation's list, or contributing to site graphics.
How this will work: First Round: For the next seven days, we'll accept new Mod applications through PM.
Second Round: The current Mod Team will deliberate on the Mod Board and discuss the candidates. This part will take as long as it takes; probably a few days to a week. At the end, anywhere from zero to two new Mods will be selected. Likely one. When the decision is reached, the new Mod(s) will be informed by private PM--once they've got their shiny new Mod accounts, we'll tout them out onto the Mass PM stage for all to see. Then shall begin the process of breaking their spiri— Err, teaching them the ropes.
Yes.
No breaking of the spirit. What so ever.
How New Mods will be judged: Lots of factors. Among them: other player's recommendations; behavior OOC; length of time on MRO and activity level during that time; quality of their own character applications; their mod application responses; etc.
Note: if you're a new member who's interested in being a Mod, don't let the "new member" part hold you back. It will count against you—significantly—but other factors can outweigh it. Last time there was a call out, one of the players selected had only been playing on MRO for a few months. The worst that happens is that you put your name in our heads for next time and we take a little extra care to unofficially groom you to the task in the mean time.
To apply, copy the following code into a new message, and send it back. Don't stress about your answers; this application is only one factor among many.
Code: Character name(s):
What do you think the role of a Moderator is, on MRO?
Why do you want to be a Moderator?
If you had to recommend one member (other than yourself) that would make a good Moderator, who would that be? Why?
You have seven days to apply. (Submissions close on Thursday, November 18) Late applications will not be accepted for any reason, just as late votes on the Mod Board would not change a decision made in your absence, nor late replies to a new member's application convince them that MRO is a good place to RP.
Attention MROers! The Mod Team has just gained two new members.
The first should come as no surprise: Juil, the player of Tarin, Kealey and Riley. She joined us some years ago, and quickly became one of our most active members, both IC and in the Cbox. Her dedication, helpfulness and professionalism are among the reasons she was chosen.
Juli's Mod name will be Sarasvati, after the Hindu Goddess of Education and Creativity. Both of those things are super important to her because IRL she's a teacher and she hopes everyone finds a muse somewhere! She found hers at MRO and can't wait to help the site in any way possible.
The second has only been with us since this Summer, but is quickly proving himself to be as addicted to this site as the best of us. Please welcome John, the player of Jorge and Agnes, to the mod team! His creativity in directing plots, talent for mediation that leave both sides better off and his welcoming presence in the Cbox speak for themselves.
Jorge's Mod name will be The Redcrosse Knight, because of Spenser's The Faerie Queene is his favorite piece of literature, having read it three times being a Literature major and a Librarian. The Redcrosse Knight stands for Virtue...something every MOD should possess and a virtue he hopes to attain one day.
Please give your warmest congratulations and support to Sarasvati and The Redcrosse Knight.
In other news, The Drug Plot has now reached the third stage.
What does this mean for you? For starters, there are several humans with temporary mutant powers running amok in New York. Mutants of the non-natural persuasion are unable to control their powers unless they are experienced drug users.
And most importantly, you may now reference the drug and run into humans who are temporarily mutants. Feel free to use this plot device as you please in your threads, but remember to keep your NPC's powers reasonable and that if you have any reoccurring NPCs in mind for plots, please run them past the mod team in advance.
If you would like more information please see the Drug Plot Plot post. To refresh your memories, here are the down and dirty details of the Street Drug.
The drug works by attaching a snippet of mutant code to the human's genetic code. It bonds there and has a limited amount of time before it dissolves away. In the attaching stage the drug will alter the human's genetic code in the following ways:
Because the code is only attaching a weaker mutant factor onto what is already existing it will NOT work for mutants with an already active x-gene.[/ul]

Hello Cboxers, old and new—
A quick but important note: lately, we’ve been having trouble with new members who’ve appeared on the Cbox.
Some of them are frustrated, and very upset with us Mods—they tell us that the Cboxers told them a power or a weakness would be okay, or that a mutation was untaken.
Some of them come to us brimming with excitement for an idea they’ve heard on the Cbox... that they haven’t put any thought into at all. They just thought it sounded cool. And, halfway through the application process, they realize they aren’t connecting with the power, and either wander away or have to think up a new one.
And some of them aren’t making it to the application process at all—they’re told by members that their power is taken, or they have the details of their power picked apart, and they leave to find another site where they think their character idea would be more welcome.
Let us state for the record: brainstorming about powers, if a new member asks for help, is okay. But please keep the ideas general—like “fire manipulator” or “weregiraffe.” If they want to get into details about how their power works, please just say “Once you get your application into the Mods, they’ll help you balance it out.” If they ask “Is a power taken?”, please refer them to the Taken Mutations list—not only does this stop you from having to answer the question seventeen times in a row, but it also links them to our policy on overlaps: after all, just because a power is “taken” doesn’t mean the overlap won’t be allowed.
In conclusion: please, please don’t mob the newbs with ideas and suggestions. We know your advice is well-intentioned, but we’re definitely seeing a case of too many cooks spoiling the soup. Please leave the detailed power discussions to the Mods.

New on MRO
The NYPD is officially a Faction! Complete with its own place in the site banner, and everything. The Flatfoot’s Guide to the MRC, including joining guidelines, is posted in the Newb Guide Series for your reading convenience.
Changes coming in the Order and Kabal: following the peaceful takeover of the Kabal by the Order member Lenna, a Kabal/Order merger looks likely. Order and Kabal members, stand by for details as IC events unfold.
The site rules have been updated with an insane asylum rules for fifth character creation:
Fifth Character: First character to 1200 posts, second character to 900 posts, third character to 600 posts, and fourth character to 300 posts, with a combined total of 3500 posts. Active on MRO for at least two years consecutively.
General Reminders
Make sure to not smother Cbox newbs with too much help: casual brainstorming == good, detailed stuff == shoo them on to the Mod Mail so they can get official answers. Folks have been much better with this since the PM. Thanks, everyone, and keep it up!
Don’t forget to back up your threads! Proboards: it is flammable.

New on MRO
As part of the Order/Kabal merger, all the Mondragon Labs boards have been folded under the Sanctuary's turf, as a single Mondragon Labs & Faust Pharmaceuticals board. In the future, all new threads set at the Labs (or FP) should go there. The old boards are sub-boards under it: as current Labs threads wrap up, they’ll be locked to posting. If you have a thread archive: fear not! All your old Labs links will still work just fine.
For those of you with two/three/etc characters: make sure to keep them all active! We've updated our Taken Mutations policy; rather than listing all characters as active if a player is active, we’re only going to list active characters. ie: If you haven’t made an IC post with Jimmy McSecondCharacter in a few months, don’t be surprised if his name isn’t on the list. Note: OOC posts (like on the Taken Mutations, Character Profiles, etc) do not count towards activity.
Apologies for the inbox spam. Yay, Spring Summer cleaning!

New On MRO
(What isn’t?)
After weeks of not-at-all-hinting-on-the-Cbox, your Mods are proud to unveil: MRO’s new look!
New features:
Tabs, tabs, everywhere!
Click and play around—we’ve tried to put all the most useful information (including the official MRO map!) on the main set of tabs. You’ll also notice that the boards are now organized neatly under tabs as well, for your not-scrolling-for-hours convenience. Some boards have been moved around, renamed, or combined, so poke around and get familiar with the new layout.
All the MRO tables are also expand/collapseable on demand—feel free to customize how your own MRO page looks, with this. Collapsing everything should increase your page load time, if you’re on a slow connection or an older machine.
Glider Bar
If you haven’t discovered the sheer joy of hovering your mouse at the top of the page: do so. Now. All members should see a convenient menu of options—this will always be with you, no matter where you are on MRO. Newbs also see this, but with new-member-related links—feel free to reference them to it when they’re looking for Taken Mutations, Rules, etc. Enjoy. <3
New Skins
To accompany the MRO facelift: we’ve had a full MRO skinlift, as well! Some of the new skins are based in spirit off the older ones (such as “To Love is to Lose”, which is based off the “Love Lee Eyes” skin, and “Dandelion”, based off of “Ghost”), though a few are completely new, as well. Go to your profile, and check them out! Also look for an updated skin index, coming soon—we’ll announce it on the Tbox when that’s up.
Mutations Side-Blurb
You now have the option of putting a small description of your mutation on your mini-profile, next to your post count, karma, etc. This is an optional feature; go to your Profile to add it on. For an example, see Calley. (If you do add a description: keep it short, and actually descriptive. Thanks!)
General Dust-Off
The rules, Newb Guides, etc have all been dusted off a bit. No site rules have changed, but we did try to make things shorter and more reader-friendly by breaking things up differently. Most of the Newb Guides just had line edits, though everyone should go "ooo" at Martin’s lovely new intro to the X-Guide. <3
How you can help us
Over the next few days, there are likely to be bugs and broken links abounding. If you spot anything odd, please PM it to Historian or email <MutantRevolver@gmail.com>. Please do not just tell us on the Cbox or Tbox, as those reports are likely to get lost or forgotten.
Likewise, if you just have a question about the new features/layout, feel free to contact us.
For people with threads in the FanFic board: during the re-organization, some FanFic threads accidentally got moved to the "Members' Area & Idle Chat" board. Please check that your FanFic threads are where they should be: if they aren't, drop me a link, and I'll get them moved.
The survey will stay open until December 16; then it will close for data crunching. We aim to have the results up and posted as our Christmas present to you.

New on MRO
The Oracle Plot: Return of the Gods. Katrina's little mini-plot is about to get a whole lot bigger. Keep yourself updated through the Plots tab, and the Oracle Plot Thread Archive & Plot Summary thread. If you want to get involved—just dream up a way! A few possible routes are already listed for you on that thread, to help get your brain juices flowing.
Current Plot Tab summary:
The Oracle Plot. The Oracle from Delphi is a twelve year old boy who can look into the possibilities of the future. One unicorn is destined to start the apocalypse. With the help of his friends the oracle is doing everything he can to prevent it from happening. The unicorn, having had his happiest memories wiped from his mind, finds little purpose in life. Until, that is, he decides to issue a challenge to the gods by starting a church of his very own, one that promises eternal life in exchange for loyal service to him. Details here.
*ahem* Meese are official. There are currently exactly three in existence, wandering the woods of upstate New York—whether they survive and spread is entirely in player hands, from here on out. I blame France. Also, Russia. But mostly France.
The requirements for joining the X-Men have been lightened a bit, to encourage joining:
We've updated the NYPD Guide with a description of the shock collars/bracelets used to contain violent mutant criminals:
Containing Mutant Criminals
Keeping a mutant under arrest takes a bit more work than it does with a mere human. As such, the MRC has a few special precautions at its disposal.
Power Restraining Collars/Bracelets. Also known in the mutant community, not-so-affectionately, as "shock collars." Developed during the Mutant Registration Act of 2007, the shock collars/bracelets are designed to send a friendly surge of electricity into any mutant that uses its power, shutting down their ability before it has an effect. Collars/bracelets automatically trigger when a mutant ability is used, though they can also be turned on and off by remote. Note: Collars/bracelets are only used with mutants whose abilities present a strong threat to themselves or others. A mutant who was shop-lifting? Not likely to be collared when he's brought in. One who just assaulted someone using his power? Much more likely. Collaring/braceleting is a matter of officer discretion.
Containment Cells. The MRC has a limited number of cells designed to keep mutant powers under warps. For all intents and purposes, these are especially durable solitary confinement units. Used for only the most dangerous of mutants, or in lieu of a shock collar for mutants with an "always on" or electricity-based type of ability.
General Reminders
Have you taken the 2011 MRO Player Survey yet? Results have been coming in fast—thanks, everyone! <3
Say hello to all our new and returning members, on their profiles and on the Cbox!

Sent June 20th, 2012.
With new babies and new jobs and new RL responsibilities all around, this message probably comes as no surprise.
It's official: the Mod Team is looking to hire.
What we look for in new Mods
People who are here for the long haul. You may have been a member for the past five years, or you may have joined just a few months ago; but if you've become an integral member of our community, and if you're here to stay, you've got one of the most important qualifications already.
Ability to stay polite and professional at all times, and be a good role model to other players both IC and out. Regular players can slip up and be forgiven: a Mod who slips up can result in grumblings for months, and bad blood for longer. Once you take up a Mod hat, you can't ever be a regular player again until the day you put it back down. In the Cbox, the Tbox, plot threads, AIM—people will look at what you say and do as a Mod first, and a player second. You will represent the site in all things you do, so you need to try and do it right.
Free time. Specifically, free time that you can spend helping members with their character applications, and anything else that may crop up. Spending an hour a day Modding (or more) is not uncommon, especially during the summer rush. Usually things won't be too stressful, but when the ohcrap hits the fan, decisions need to be made quickly: hearing from all Mods helps keep those decisions fair, so we need Mods who get online regularly, and who can put in the time to get things done.
A reliable internet connection and the ability to load Gmail. Almost all Modwork starts in the Mod Mail; if you can't load Gmail on your regular computer, for whatever reason, then we can't actually use you. Ditto if your ability to get online is sporadic.
Mod Responsibilities
Mod mail duty. This includes handling new member applications, power growth requests, attribute profiles, and other miscellaneous e-mails that come through. You'll be trained in on this, never fear. The primary reason we need new Mods is to help handle new member applications.
Mod Board discussions, and decisions. We have discussions on everything, from player concerns to rule revisions to who gets to open the next brandy bottle. This part is both easy and hard: you've got to share your opinions, comments, questions, and concerns with the rest of the Team, and you have to work with the rest of the Team to reach consensus on the issue at hand. Once the final Mod Team decision is reached in private, you must be prepared to stand by it publically. We're allowed to have our own opinions on the Mod Board. Everywhere else, we are the Mod Borg: public Mod infighting does not help the site, and is not allowed.
Confidentiality. New Mods are going to have access to pages and pages of past site dramas, and will get to take part in all the pages to come. They will learn more than they ever wanted to know about their fellow players, including what Zephyr had for breakfast (and lunch, and dinner).
These can be happy PMs, or sad PMs.
We reserve the right to sell your soul to unforeseen Mod duties, as needed.
Mod Perks
How this will work:
For the next seven days, we'll accept new Mod applications through PM.
Second Round: All Mod candidates will be announced via another Mass PM; we'll ask all members for their thoughts on this list, both good and bad, and allow another week for those opinions to trickle in.
Last Round: The current Mod Team will take all player advice back to the Mod Board, toss in our own views, and discuss the candidates. This part will take as long as it takes; probably a few days to a week. At the end, anywhere from zero to three new Mods will be selected. Likely one or two. When the decision is reached, the new Mods will be informed by private PM--once they've got their shiny new Mod accounts, we'll tout them out onto the Mass PM stage for all to see. Then shall begin the process of breaking their so-- Err, teaching them the ropes.
Yes.
No soul breaking. What so ever.[/ul]
How New Mods will be judged:
count against you--significantly--but other factors can outweigh it. In past call outs, we have consistently picked one older member and one green horn. It's not a policy, but there's a lot to be said for the fresh perspective and enthusiasm that new members can bring to the table. The worst that happens is that you put your name in our heads for next time, and we take a little extra care to unofficially groom you to the task in the mean time.[/ul]
To apply, copy the following mini-app into a new message, and send it back. Don't stress about your answers; this application is only one factor among many.
Character name(s):
What do you think the role of a Moderator is, on MRO?
Why do you want to be a Moderator?
If you had to recommend one member (other than yourself) that would make a good Moderator, who would that be? Why?
You have seven days to apply (last day for apps will be Wednesday, June 27th). Late applications will not be accepted for any reason, just as late votes on the Mod Board would not change a decision made in your absence, nor late replies to a new member's application convince them that MRO is a good place to RP.
Cheers,
The Mod Team Calliope, Historian, Sennyo, Sarasvati, Redcrosse Knight, Mister Yuck, and Blue Badger

The Age of Sebastian is upon us. With civilization ripped away, how will your character fare? Read the official plot description here, and get threading in the rubble that was New York City. The alternate future will be open for RPing from now until late August/early September.
Since the present timeline and this alternate future will be running simultaneously, don't forget to mark your future threads with [AoS] in the title, so people can tell at a glance which timeline you're in.
Cheers,
The Mod Team
PS: Special thanks to Graves, who did a sizable amount of the official post writing, in addition to coming up with this idea in the first place.

A week has passed. All of the applications are in. Let the second round of the new Mod selection begin!
For each of the following candidates, please give us your opinion on how well you think they'd do as a Moderator. Please note that this is not a vote; the actual selection will be made in the third round, by the current Mod Team. We want to know your opinions--both good and bad--before we make those selections.
Your responses will only be viewed by the current Mod Team. We'll be deleting them before the new Mods get a chance to see them, so please speak freely, for good or ill.
Candidates: please also reply to this PM. It's likely that more than one new Mod will be selected, so we'd like to hear your opinion on your fellow candidates. Feel free to leave your own spot blank.
New Members: if you've haven't really met some of these candidates yet, and don't really have an opinion either way, then go ahead and just say that. We greatly value your opinion on the candidates you have met, however--since one of the main Mod duties is working with new members like yourself, you're in a unique position to tell us how you, as one of those new members, feels about these players.
Replies can be as long or as short as you wish. This is voluntary; if you don't want to share your opinions with us, you don't have to. We'll be accepting replies for the next seven days (until July 3rd). Try not to be late--after seven days, the Mod Team will start its own discussions, and late opinions aren't likely to have the same impact that the more timely replies have.
To reply, please copy the following code into a new message, and write your comments after each candidate's name. The final decision is going to be hard. Please help us!

What do you think of the following players? How well do you think they'd do as an MRO Moderator?

Attention MROers! This is the PM you’ve all been waiting for! MRO has some new mods to introduce.
Before we get around to announcing them, we’ve got some sad, but happy news to announce. Due to the real life rigors of motherhood and the amount of time it requires, our very own ham fairy, Sennyo, is retiring from modship. This is sad, but it is also so happy, and I know the site at large will join the mod-team in congratulating her on her growing family. Don’t worry, though! You’ll still see Ghost around the boards, hopefully posting in her free time or just popping in to say hello.
Now, on to our mod appointments.
The first should come as no surprise: Abyss, the player of the Abyssi, Koga, and Zelek is and has been an active member and plotter for many years on MRO. He is helpful, friendly, and hilarious in the cbox, and someone that all site members know they can go to for a snug, smile, or cbox perch. In the past, Abyss was even a mod who had to step down due to Real Life issues. We are thrilled to welcome him back into the fold.
Abyss will once again be taking the mod name of Mr. O, and I know that eventually, everyone will figure out what's funny about that name! It took me ages when I joined, and now I giggle every time.
The second new mod has been with us less time, but has already made his mark. Graves has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the Age of Sebastion plot. Over the last several months as the player of Graves and Rebecca, he has also proven himself an active and conscientious site member who is willing to both plot and do the work to make sure those plots come to fruition.
Graves will be taking the mod name Daydreamer, but I know he won't have his head in the clouds as long as there's work that needs done around the site.
Our final addition to the Mod Team will be MRO’s very own Gina, player of Gina and Chase! Almost ever-present in the cbox, Gina has constantly proven herself a friendly and helpful individual who always acts in the best interest of everyone in a situation. Whether it’s her drawings, her knowledge of other MRO’ers and their lives (on and off site) or simply her sunny disposition, Gina is always around to put a smile on the face of anyone in her presence. Gina’s mod name will be Saphrosyne. Taken from the goddess of of moderation, self-control, temperance, restraint, and discretion, this name describes the very traits that are going to make Gina an excellent moderator.
Please give your warmest congratulations and support to Mr. O, Daydreamer, and Sophrosyne.
In other news, the Age of Sebastion plot is in full swing. There are several post-apocalyptic gangs to ally yourself with, if they strike your fancy, and I’m sure they’d be glad to have any late-comers. If you would like more information please see the Age of Sebastion plot post or ask around in the cbox.
If you have any general site questions, please contact a site moderator. Also, make sure to back up your threads and anything else you might care about on-site. Pro-boards likes to catch on fire sometimes. No really…on fire.
Again, a huge welcome to our new moderators, and good luck to Ghosty and her family.
