Nathan followed Neena down the steps and then continued past her until he was in the open space. A robot appeared from nothing as Neena explained what he was to do. The whole thing sounded simple enough.
Nathan became a little bit unsettled when the robot suddenly became him. He also caught Neena's reference to Star Wars. He had to smile at that. Nathan replied in his best Master Yoda impersonation. "Fight this one, I will. Win, I will."
The imposter didn't seem to be moving at all. It's waiting for me so it can learn what I will do. Very well. The thing about Nathan's fighting style was that it wasn't strictly in one category. It was a combination of different styles. So there wasn't exactly a standard defense for it.
Nathan settled into a stance similar to a boxer's, keeping light on his feet while holding his hands infront of his face. He threw a quick left jab to gage the bot's reaction time. The robot easily picked off the incoming blow while grabbing hold of Nathan's wrist.
Nathan twisted his held arm and grabbed a hold of the bot's arm at the same time. Nathan's free hand also clamped onto the robot's opposite arm. Nathan quickly brought his right leg between them and kicked the lookalike straight in the chest. This knocked his oppenent back a few feet. But it instantly came back at Nathan.
The robot took the offensive and threw the next punch. It was a roundhouse with alot of force behind it. Nathan simply sidestepped outside of the right arm that was delivering the blow. But the robot pivoted and brought it's left leg high in a sweeping kick. Nathan ducked that one, but the trailing leg coming directly up from the floor hit him under his chin.
Nathan knew enough of physics so that he didn't fight the blow. He curled into a ball and simply used the force from the kick to put him into a roll away from the robot. Nathan stood to his feet as the robot came on again.

"Fight this one, I will. Win, I will." Neena chuckled, and bowed dramatically, before moving aside to allow them room to battle.
She stood with her arms crossed as she watched. Her expression went blank, giving very little indication of her reaction. In her mind, she placed the image of him battling besides others on the Team. Personalities aside, she wanted to see who he’d compliment battle-wise. Though most assumed that they could rely on their mutations in the event of combat, the dark teacher had learned long ago that such reliance could severely handicap a person.
There were a few on the team that were versed in some form of martial arts, ones like Deathstar, and Silver Streak, so Nathan would fit in fine there.
She also paired him up in her mind with other possible recruits, like Sam, Marcus, and Redemption. She was not being negative by searching for possible future problems, merely realistic.
Now for the tricky part. Personalities.....
She blinked, and shifted her weight, bringing one foot up like a flamingo. Behind her glasses, she spared a glance toward Ali, before concentrating on the fight once more.

The red haired woman remained in the control room as she watched Nathan and Neena go into the Danger Room training area. She turned on the intercom system so she could listen as well as talk. For now she listened to Neena as she interviewed Nathan about his powers and fighting ability.
Neena started a training program and Ali watched Nathan as she batteld the bot. She tried to imagine him fighting actual bad guys. Ones with feelings and thoughts of their own. Her thoughts concluded that he would do well in a battle against evil. Ali knew that Nathan had a good heart from their date.
