The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I know it did....those guys have been in movies together two or three times. Their chemistry is just awesome!" Tarin said when Lee expressed interest in the movie he'd mentioned. It had been a gamble...there were several chick flicks out at the present time, finding one that Lee was really interested in had been a role of the dice.
They were still walking and Tarin could see Lee looking at him out of the corner of her eye. She was a nervous wreck about going out on a date with him. She was scared he'd force the touching issue simply because they were in a movie theater rather than sitting on a couch in their apartment. Something about that seemed backwards to Tarin and he shrugged his shoulders a little bit to himself just in time to hear Lee question that exact thing.
Tarin moved in front of Lee, turning so he was walking backwards down the street, giving her plenty of room. They'd reached the less populous area of the block, so the likelihood of a collision was minimal, so he looked at her as he walked. Careful not to get too close, Tarin spoke quietly, "Lee, I've never pushed you for a single thing, I'm not going to start now. I honestly just thought it might be nice to get out of the apartment for the night, get some dinner, and see a movie." Tarin grinned, "Maybe have a good cry when the star crossed lovers are separated, then cheer when they reunite! You know....have a good time" Tarin sobered up a little, then said, one more time, "No pushing."
Tarin was really trying. He seemed to be trying to make her catch his enthusiasm about the idea of going out. Not exactly pushing, but he was definitely trying to show her that he really wanted to go.
As if Tarin's enthusiasm wasn't normally contagious enough, thinking about the preview she had seen the previous night, Lee was certainly starting to really want to see it. It had looked really good.
Before she was able to actually agree to go out, before she could do more than say a movie would be nice, Tarin was turning around to walk backward in front of her, so he could look at her more fully as they walked. Stressing the fact that he hadn't pushed her before and he wasn't about to start pushing now.
Still, despite herself, Lee smiled as well as she heard Tarin's suggestions for what to do during the movie. Not that he would admit it to any one else at all, Lee could see Tarin reacting just that way in the movie because she had seen him react like that to other movies they had gone to see.
"You'd better buy me a large popcorn when you get the snacks," Lee told him, the smile still on her face. Pausing for a moment, Lee reached out and lightly grasped Tarin's wrist, pulling him a bit to her left before he ran into a garbage can behind him. "Cause I haven't been paid yet, so you're going to have to pay."

She caved, she caved! Tarin almost started skipping backwards as they moved down the street, Lee caved with only the condition that he buy her a large popcorn in the movies. "Honey, I'll buy you junior minds, a large popcorn, and a frozen coke. You name it, it's yours." He said.
Lee reached for him and guided him to the side and Tarin managed to turn around without tripping over his feet just in time to see the monstrous trash can she'd saved him from. "That was close." he said, grinning in her general direction and walking a few feet before realizing that she'd actually reached out and touched him. The touching had been necessary, but she'd still done it.
"And I think this is when they say, 'It's a date' " Tarin said, then continued down the street.
