The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Anthony nervously paced in front of the gate "How do I do this?" He thought looking at the imposing mansion in front of him. "Do I need to make an appointment? or do they care... what if all the information I got was wrong, and they don't care about mutants, or worse hate mutants." He started sweating and headed away from the gates "No no no, I'm being stupid and paranoid." He walked up to the buzzer and took a deep breath "Whats the worst that cold happen" He thought as he pressed the button.
For once the buzz of her phone didn't catch Neena sleeping or eating, or even climbing. For the first time in a long time, the chocolate-skinned woman had her nose in a book. Not that she didn't like to read; on the contrary, she enjoyed certain books, on a variety of unrelated subjects. What made this book stand out was the title:
The Internet for Dummies - Starter Kit. On the table next to her also lay, The Idiot's Guide to Computer Basics.
The frown on the teacher's face gave testament to how well the program worked.....
"Be right there," she said into her phone absent-mindedly.
---------------------------------
She still had her nose stuck in the book when she approached the front gates. But her expression brightened considerably when she refocused her attention from the manual to the young man on the other side of the iron bars.
"Well uhh I hope so" Anthony said uncomfortably "I heard this place was a good place for, you know, mutants, and well I am one." Despite having his power for as long as he did he still hated that word, whenever he heard it he thought of all those evil mutants.
He held his hand out for her to see, and concentrate his power to transform it into metal, showing Neena his power. "I just want to know though, what do you actually do here?"
((OOC: I couldn't resist letting out Nika's playfulness))
Nika was out jogging around the mansion grounds when she saw a couple figures at the main gate. As she got closer she recognized Neena but not the other person. It was a pretty tall guy with brown hair. He was dressed kind of casual but what caught Nika's eye was when the man made his hand look like metal. This would require some investigating so Nika continued to approach them both.
When she stopped next to Neena the cat girl smiled her cheerful smile and then looked to the new guy. She examined his hand for a moment and smiled at him.
"Well uhh I hope so. I heard this place was a good place for, you know, mutants, and well I am one."
"Oh?" Neena watched curiously as the young man's hand changed color, taking on a silvery glint. It reminded her of Streak's ability. "Cool! Is that really metal, or just covered?"
"I just want to know though, what do you actually do here?"
Interesting question, to Neena's mind, since most people who showed up at the gates usually had a general idea, if a bit misguided, about the function of the Mansion.
She smiled at him. "This is Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters, m'friend. We're a school, mainly, just like any other. Though we do open our doors to mutants needing a place to crash for a bit."
At that point Nika wandered up. "Cool ability. I have a tail and ears see!?"
Neena giggled a bit at her young friend's enthusiasm. "This is Nika," she introduced, "and I'm Neena. I teach here."
She keyed in the gate code, allowing the young man to enter the grounds. "And you are.....?"
Anthony looked at his hands, "Yeah, all metal." he said as he brought his hand back to it's normal state, he flexed his fingers for a sec before looking back at her. She gave him a warm smile and told him about the school, it sounded great, "but what could a school of mutants be like?"
Before he could respond another girl approached, she looked like some kind of cat-girl, "Wow, and I thought mine was strange." He thought, but he couldn't help admire how to everybody here this was normal, it really was a great place. "Thats amazing" he said to the girl. The woman introduced themselves and Anthony gave them a nod and a smile "I'm Anthony" He said as he entered "So what do you teach?"
Nika smiled when Neena introduced her. She watched the man's hand turn back to normal as well as him saying it was really metal. His compliment to the cat girl got another smile.
"Nice to meet you Anthony. Neena taught me how to build up endurance."
Anthony followed the two into the mansion grounds, looking around at the other mutants, including Nika. So many of them together here made hi ma little nervous, but he couldn't shake it. All he could think of was the bad things that they were capable of "Stop it, you have the same potential" He kept telling himself.
His distracted mind nearly passed up on Neena's question "Oh well I already graduated high school, so I guess I would just be staying for a bit, but honestly what brought me here was just curiosity."

Zeke happened to walk up to the party. He had been walking and thinking, a fairly common thing for him to do these days. With Evie either safe at home or out shopping, Zeke spent his days teaching his classes and walking the yard in thought. He felt like his thoughts invigorated his lectures... and hopefully they did. But when he came upon a new student, or even an old one, Zeke would always engage a conversation. Prowling around, searching the mind of the younger mutant.
In this case, he wasn't looking at a very young mutant, but still one of interest. Zeke decided to engage in the conversation anyways. He pulled up beside Neena, Nika, and newcomer. "Curiosity is said to have killed the cat... you might want to curb it before you get yourself killed..."
Of course... probing the conversation with some strange thought always started things off interesting.
"Oh well I already graduated high school, so I guess I would just be staying for a bit, but honestly what brought me here was just curiosity."
"Curiosity is said to have killed the cat... you might want to curb it before you get yourself killed..."
Neena had opened her mouth to reply with something along the lines of her usual, 'Curiosity is a good thing.' But Ezekiel White beat her to it with his quote. She waved her hand at the Psychology professor.
"Pfft! Curiosity may have killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back. How do you explain all the strays in the city?" She winked at the new comer to show she was teasing.
"This is Ezekiel White, our resident psych professor. Zeke, this is Anthony. As you heard, he's looking for a place to stay. And you are more than welcome to, Anthony."
