The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

There was a crowd forming now...a large crowd forming around the hole. Tarin wasn't completely oblivious to the situation, but he was more focused on the little girl. Apparently she was fine, scraped knees were common childhood injuries from what Tarin could remember and would heal fine.
Apparently he wasn't the only one who had noticed the small crowd growing around the large hole in the park, and as the little girl apologized to the park, (aww cute). Tarin shook his head, casting a wary look around, "Don't worry kiddo, I think the park is going to be just fine...you've seen the size of this place...you pretty much only scraped its knee."
The metal guy had noticed too, and he said something to the effect that there was going to be a huge problem if they didn't get out soon. Then the kid was leaping into his arms...leaping. Tarin caught her out of reflex, but stumbled a little bit. The kid was young, but Tarin was a pretty small guy. Holding her tight and listening to the metal guy, Tarin glanced around and started to pull himself out of the hole, shifting the little girl towards his back, "Piggy back is going to be easier kiddo." he said, then to Slade's question he shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know. My place won't work for this. Lead the way."

Coraline laughed as Tarin pulled her into a piggy back. "I can see a lot from up here!" she exclaimed. "This is New York! it's different from what I think I remember... but wow look at all the humans-" she corrected herself incase anyone was listening. "...people." She was a thin little thing and her legs were rather gangly around Tarin's neck. "Can you take me to a place with more mutants? I don't like regular people so much. There aren't many where I come from." she gave her head a shake. She still couldn't remember much but there were facts that seemed to always stay with her whenever she ported like this. Her world was one of mostly mutants and the people were not nice. "If this is the past maybe my parents are just kids like me!" she laughed. "I think they're mutants too... I can't remember but I think if I'm a mutant they might be too..." she continued to babble about thinking things through. She felt very safe with Tarin and Slade. She took to them easily enough. Now she needed her memory to start coming back.
Slade sighed, his place then... Stepping two paces he centred himself on the wide path, as far as he knew it would lead him onto the road. "No need for a piggy back dude," Slade nodded to the man named Tarin. He looked over to Coraline grinning and rolling his neck in anticipation, "And as for you it's lucky I'm your uncle otherwise you wouldn't be allowed to get in!"
Slade's systems lit up, his ligaments rolling and churning as his systems ground into life. He folded down from the waist, his motors whirring and squealing as they reassembled themselves rapidly. Clunks and clicks resounded as his matter reformed and replicated, slotting into its natural place as the parts for his car form. His legs collapsed and conformed with his manipulated chassis. Finally with a small bounce his front bonnet slapped down over his engines and he settled, fully transformed, into his Audi R8 form.
The engines revved and the passenger doors opened. The radio fuzzed from static into a sharp voice, "Aint got all day people!" Slade hoped the girl wasn't too freaked, or the guy for that matter...

Tarin was pretty much ready to get somewhere where there were less 'normal' people too. Even though the registration act was over, people still weren't always the friendliest towards mutants...especially when they dug huge craters in the middle of Central Park.
"We're getting there kiddo." Tarin said as the girl clung on and he made his way out of the hole. The metal guy, Slade, said that there wasn't any need for piggy back and Tarin's eyes widened as the transformation occurred in front of him. Holy hell...he'd stumbled upon a Transformer!! Flashes of memory from Tarin's childhood flashed through his mind and he grinned, then he realized what kind of car the dude had turned into and he almost fainted.
"You're an Audi...holy shit! You're an Audi" Tarin momentarily forgot that they were in a kind of touchy situation and stared, the little girl still clinging to his back.
The engine revved and Tarin almost peed his pants with glee, then the metal guy's voice came from inside the car and Tarin jumped, glancing around at the not-so-happy crowd.
Pulling the little girl around to the front of his body, Tarin tucked her head and leaned into the car, settling her into the passenger's seat of the car. "Buckle up!" Tarin said, climbing in next to the kid and pulling the door shut as he pulled his seat belt across his body.
"Am I driving or are you?" Tarin said out loud, figuring that if the guy could talk through the radio, then he could hear too.
ooc; sorry it took me so long to reply, Ive been away and sick. If you guys wanna start a follow up thread to this, just link me where it is. I'm a little outta sorta and trying to get back to benng organized!
ic: Coraline's facial expression didn't change as Slade transformed into a very shiny car. Part of her had expected it. She wondered if she knew Slade in the future or someone like him. When 'Uncle' Tarin placed her in the seat she eagerly buckled up. Her feet still didn't touch the ground but she liked being able to look out the window.
Her face screwed up a little and she put her hands on her waist. "Uncle Slade drive slowly or I'll get car sick." she mumbled. Coraline wasn't used to regular forms of transportation- she usually just ported. But in this unknown time and the stress the last port put on her body she didn't want to try porting herself let alone anyone else especially to a place she hadn'e been before.
"So- where we going?" she said forcing a smile and swallowing back the uneasiness in her tummy.
ooc - hope you get better soon cora! my place is in queens so we can either keep the thread here or move it to the new york city board... pm me if either of you feel we should change otherwise just post in normal order
ic - Slade smiled inwardly as Tarin seemed to be awed by his car form, most did to be fair. Not to be vain but his car form was lovely with a capital L! Slade had always loved audi's and having been able to transform into one made up for the disadvantages that the mutation gave. The small girl didn't seem shocked at all, maybe kids weren;t phased by abstract mutations because of their wild imaghinations? Slade would certainly never understand...
Slade heard Tarin ask if he was driving, Slade's main thought was "hell no!". As his holographic driver fizzled into visual focus Slade replied through the radio, "No need dude, something about being driven by a guy just don't sound right to me..." He remembered being driven by Circe not so long ago... that had been weird enough and Slade knew he couldn't cope with a guy in the driving seat, not at all!
Slade heard Coraline's voice emanating suppressively from the rear seats, he scowled softly as she voiced her apparent car sickness. "Don't worry little Cora, I'll be easy on the gears, and tonight you have the privilege of visiting your uncle's home sweet home."
Slade knew they'd be in his 'house' for at least the evening. Hopefully they could sort out some arrangement for the girl before she demanded having a sleep over! As 'uncle' Tarin clambered into the seat available Slade shut the door behind the two others. His wheels spinning noisily into the soft tarmac of the central park path he revved away from the gathered, and shocked, crowd. He made for what he thought would be the quickest route to the road passing through central park. The sooner he got the mutants away from the homosapiens the better!
