Personality: Coraline is a happy spirited child with a lot of energy. She’s curious by nature and always asking questions. She can often appear confused and thoughtful- she spends a lot of time thinking things through for a child. She can be worrisome and get very concerned over trivial issues. She’s kind hearted and helpful. She is also very creative. She is forgetful, impulsive, and sporadic.

Notes (Hobbies, Phobias, Worries, ect.): Oddly enough Coraline seems to have a lot of hobbies and interest. She can usually find at least one thing she has in common with someone else. Though she is only a child she seems to have more experience. She is afraid of getting lost and being alone. She’s also very afraid of forgetting things. She definitely has an ethnic look about her… but it’s hard to put a finger on.
Coraline REALLY likes cats.

Everyday clothing: A very odd looking jumper that has many pockets, a pair of high tops that are yellow along with a bright yellow pony tail, a glow in the dark wrist watch, and a beaded purse she carries everywhere

Piercings: just her ears in which she wears little stars that really do glitter

Description of ability(ies): Time travel/teleportation. Coraline can teleport through time and space to the past, present, and future. On a larger scale she could go forward or back by decades or centuries but on the smaller scale she’s likelier to use it in a Night Crawler way to speed up and slow down to ‘teleport’ around as if only moving a few seconds into the future. It is unknown if her ability has any effect on reality as Coraline’s larger time travels leave her memory somewhat erased. She can’t compare anything to anything else because she does not remember. Often people have the sense of meeting her before- like she’s familiar. Usually she can’t take anyone with her when she time travels but in some rare occasions under high stress she can teleport someone a very short distance. Occasionally bits and pieces of her travelling will come to her in dreams.

Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): Coraline can’t choose to teleport large distances of her own free will i.e. decades into the future or past. This only happens to her when her mutation is triggered by extreme stress. (it wont ever happen without mod approval) When it does happen Coraline often has amnesia of where she was and where she is supposed to be going. Small teleporting often leaves her a little confused and disoriented if she does it too often. She gets very scared and lonely and is easily fooled by attacks based in psychic or illusionary. It’s also unsure if Coraline ages like a normal person. She doesn’t remember her own age and the constant jumping has left her as a child in the memory of those who encountered her. Sometimes she has bad dreams and relapse memories come back to her but she can’t make any sense of them.

Fighting style (if any): She doesn’t fight, just teleports away.

History of your character:
The last thing Coraline remembers is that she and her family were somehow under attack. She knows she had a mother and a father though she can’t remember what they looked like. She may have also had siblings. Her parents screamed at her to travel away and Coraline did. She only meant to teleport a few miles away but accidently time travelled due to the stress of the moment. She’s not even sure how far but she is in the present day for New York (she’ll be present in the future plot as well). She doesn’t remember what time she came from and can’t tell how far she travelled. She just knows this isn’t her home and comes to the mansion in hopes of finding anyone who might know something about her, her family, or a mutant with a similar power to help her get back to her home time. She may have met Sebastian in a previous time jump. (Kat and I will elaborate on this when we decide to do something with it) It’s obvious that whatever time Coraline comes from things are different. She’s very comfortable with mutants and is a little confused by anyone who doesn’t have a gift.

Sample RP:

Her mother wrapped her arms around Coraline kneading the child’s lose hair between her fingers. “Oh my Coraline.” She breathed obviously in pain. “This is no place for you.” Her father bent down with tears in his eyes and wrapped his arms around both his wife and daughter.
“You need to get away Coraline; we can hide your brothers and sisters but not you.”
Coraline clung to her father desperately.
“Please, I don’t want to leave you again. It took me so long to find you last time.” She pleaded.
“You must go to a place where we were and find us Coraline, we’ll help you get back home.” Her mother told her rocking her child back and forth. “But you need to get away darling or they will kill you.”

Coraline didn’t want to go far away, she’d just go to another city… they’d never find her there. Or maybe just back a few years to when she was a baby she could hide then and her parents would understand and keep her until she could come back.
“Ok momma, I’ll go.” She whimpered stepping away from her mother and father and picking up her little beaded purse off the ground.

“Find the mansion” he father pleaded. “They will help you.”

“I’ll try.” Cried Coraline. “I always forget.” She was trying to be a brave girl now. No sobbing. She wrapped her arms around herself and felt the light start to creep from inside her chest. The ground around her began to shake and crumble as the gravity around it changed. “I love you.” She shouted out to them above the whirring noise. “I’ll come back for you” she continued to sobbed and closed her eyes trying to concentrate. Just a few days away. Maybe a few years. Not far. Not far.

It was when she heard her mother’s painful scream that she opened her eyes and saw nothing but black. Her chest ached and suddenly the ground came up very quickly.
