The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"September 6th. I'm a Virgo, if you can't tell." He thought of himself as the quintessential Virgo, dry and logical, going for the safest and most planned route possible. "The hair, nice." He chuckled a bit, adding," Due to the higher intensity of neural activity, I guess I ended up with electrolysis from the inside out." He rubbed his head and then extended his arm, sliding his hand over it, indicating the total lack of hair.
As she rose, looking toward the quickly dwindling brick pile, he stopped her. "No need to do anymore. I think this will do nicely for now. I am going to let the other hole wait a bit. I am starving and I think I am going to walk around a bit or something." The wall was sound, or would be after drying. An excellent start, but many other things to do still laid ahead for him. " Not running you off, by any means. I could just use some R&R is all." He smiled at her, hoping she wouldn't take him wrong. That money was burning a hole in his satchel and he was anxious to spend it.
"I'm a Virgo, if you can't tell." At this Ghost cocked her head to the side slightly. "That's a star sign, right?" She had no clue what hers would be. She knew of the western zodiac, but no real details. She could maybe name half of the signs... maybe.
"The hair, nice." He chuckled a bit, adding, "Due to the higher intensity of neural activity, I guess I ended up with electrolysis from the inside out."
She resisted the urge to check out the smooth skin of his arm for herself, instead opting to tease again. "So you're saying that you're such a brain you just can't spare the energy to grow any hair?"
He told her that he planned on taking another break. She wondered how he had gotten anything done and she was a bit disappointed though she wouldn't admit it. "I am starving and I think I am going to walk around a bit or something. Not running you off, by any means. I could just use some R&R is all."
He said he wasn't running her off and yet he didn't ask her to come along... Ghost stretched again and dusted herself off from any dirt and twigs she may have accumulated while sitting in the grass. She'd love to tag along, but she wasn't gonna be the annoying little sister - if he wanted to go off alone she wouldn't stop him. She hadn't wanted any R and/or R... that was why she had volunteered to work manual labor in the heat of the day.
"Well, if we're done here for today I guess I'll go in for a shower." She gathered up the things neatly and tried to decide what needed cleaning before they left it out to cure for the night.
"I live in the girl's hall if you need anything," she said 'girl's hall' like it was something lamentable, "door is always... well, almost always open."
"Indeed it is. I like to take a little bit of everything in the spiritual world, like a buffet." He thought of Egg Shen from Big Trouble in Little China. Great film, but anything by John Carpenter was tops in his book. Her comment about his brain left him befuddled, as ironic as that was. He stood up as she did, collecting the tools and items. She looked a bit distraught that he was ending their time together. Was it the work or was it him? Either way, he was pretty much ruining any chances he had now. Or not.
"door is always... well, almost always open."
"Oh?", he replied. "Well, perhaps I will come and sit on the edge of your bed later. If that's alright." Couldn't be more specific. He was taking a leap of faith. Where would he land?
"...I like to take a little bit of everything in the spiritual world, like a buffet."
She smiled. Mom would've liked this one. She turned to leave, but he said something else.
"Well, perhaps I will come and sit on the edge of your bed later. If that's alright."
She looked over her shoulder and offered him a pleasant smile. "It's only fair..."
She bounded away with the spry grace that seemed to invade her every movement. She hadn't worn herself out entirely, but she could feel the burn - she would be slightly sore at least in her arms tomorrow. A shower actually didn't sound too bad. Her mood had improved drastically since she began that day. It could be the chemical result of physical labor... or it could have been the company.
A playful breeze rushed back toward Garrett and it carried with it Ghost's hushed voice. "See ya later."
