The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Acheron cocked his head. "I have a towel... did you want it back now?" He went back to the towel and picked it up before returning to Lee. "I didn't know you wanted it back. Did it not belong there?"
He looked down at the clothes in his other hand. "D-do you want these back too?" Acheron's brow furrowed, and he looked back at Lee. "Can I... " what? Use them until next week? Keep them? "When do you need these back?"
"Uh," Lee stammered again, focusing her eyes on Acheron's face, not letting them drift even below his chin. "No, you can keep it for now."
And then Lee saw Acheron look down, and though she didn't follow his eyes down, Lee assumed from his question that he was talking about the clothing she had given him to put on. Considering the fact that she hadn't planned on bringing the shorts, didn't really want them as a further reminder, Lee didn't see a reason to complain about getting the stuff back. The towel, since that was Rachael's, Lee would need that back, but since he couldn't exactly wear it normally, she didn't think it would matter as much.
"Nah, you can keep them," Lee settled on saying. Was there still a blush on her cheeks? She wasn't sure, but it honestly wouldn't surprise her since Acheron was still standing there completely naked. "At least until you can find something else. I don't need them back any time soon, at any rate."
Somehow Lee's answers made Acheron confused. He could keep the towel? No, that wasn't right... was it? Decisively, he once more discarded the towel. His curiosity regarding Lee's red face was satiated; her face had been red because he had discarded the towel without telling her.
Without another thought, Acheron pulled up the shorts and shrugged on the t-shirt. His eyes brightened as he remembered that she had lasagna waiting to be eaten.
"Do we eat now?" he asked Lee, his face a picture of a bright-eyed kitten.
Apparently, that was that. Rather than grabbing the towel to cover himself, which would have been faster and easier, and which Lee would have thought he would do right away, Acheron seemed to decide that now was the time to get dressed. And so he pulled the shorts and shirt on right then, right in front of her.
As he looked up at her again, Lee saw that his eyes were brighter, more excited looking. "Yeah, we can go eat now," Lee said, turning away slightly toward the stairs. "I'll go heat up the lasagna while you finish up here then."
Again, Acheron was confused. "Finish up?" Wasn't he done already? Or was he supposed to do something? It had probably been years since he'd taken a shower in a house with clean clothes and a clean towel... and he wasn't sure he did everything as he was supposed to. "Am I not done?"
Lee shrugged; she didn't know if he had something else he wanted to do in there before heading down for food. He had opened the door naked, after all.
"Just if there's anything else you wanted to do," Lee said, rather lamely in her opinion. "I'll go heat up the lasagna. So, whenever you're ready, just come back down."
With that, and the slight blush still on her cheeks, Lee turned and made her way down to the kitchen.
