The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Nigel lead Mr Ravenscroft into the vehicle bay at Mondragon labs. waiting for them was Hunter. The transforming mechanical mutant greatly intrigued him. He'd looked into the man's past and found his story most interesting.
Mr Ravenscroft was not a mutant in the traditional sense. He gained his abilities from an accident involving new, experimental technology. Still, the source of his powers were of more interest to Ingram than they were to Hunter. He was interested in their limits.
Slade had been following mr Banks all evening, and he had to say this place was awesome! As he entered the vehicle bay he saw a tall, silent man looking him up and down. Could this be mr Antonescu? Slade felt a shiver run slowly throughout his wiring schematics, this man definately held more than met the eye.
Swallowing his apprehension, Slade broke from mr Banks lead. He walked slowly, and respectfully, towards the silent figure and held out his hand. "Good evening, sir."
Hunter took the offered hand, shaking it firmly without revealing his inhuman strength. "Pleasure to meet you Mr Ravenscroft," he said smoothly, "I understand that Mr Banks has made both the first and second parts of the job clear to you and that you have agreed to both terms." It was said as a statement, not a question, and one with a distinct air of finality.
"This will be your workshop. It is your job to maintain all of the vehicles in this facility in pristine condition. Each and every one of these mechanics answers directly to you. Their mistakes and their successes are yours. Any questions?"
Slade nodded, recognising the warning beneath the formality. Normally he would have taken this with a pinch of salt but the amount this guy was paying easily implied this guy was looking for nothing less than the best. "Of course, sir, I won't let you down."
Slade was bursting with questions to ask but he knew he had to keep a lid on his enthusiasm, this guy was looking for professionalism not a kid in a playground. "So, uh, what is involved with the second part of my employment? I mean the engineering is pretty straight forward but I'd like to know more about how you wish to utilise my mutant powers, if this is the time?"
This guy looked normal, but Slade didn't want to take any chances with what he said. He didn't want to offend this man. Someone who could pay as much as he did didn't sound like the guy to offend with the wrong question...
"While much of what I do is entirely legitimate there is a significant proportion that is not," Hunter explained, "And in that portion I require a team of mutants, all with unique abilities, to perform tasks. These will range from information gathering to acquisition of items to elimination of targets." He let the last part hang, allowing Mr Ravenscroft to fully understand what could be required of him.
All the while Hunter had been taking stock of the man. His unusual form meant that he couldn't read facial expressions as well as he normally could, but the body language was still readable. From what Hunter could surmise the man was extremely eager, but also cautious. Hunter had made no overtly threatening moves, yet Mr Ravenscroft was already watching his step. Good.
ooc - if hunter would tell me not to transform my weapon before i do it plz tell me n ill edit the post. also i pm'd your statistician account coz i won caption contest so have points to spend yay!
ic - Slade processed the last part slowly. He had expected this to arise from the moment he'd been offered the half million, it still took an effort to not step back upon hearing it. Slade sighed softly, speaking with care and thought. "Well in that respect I think I'm capable, sir." Slade looked down at his right hand, carefully and obviously pointing it away from the employer he slowly transformed it into its weapon form.
Fingers folded backwards and his wrist began to reassemble like a shiny silver rubix cube until the arm settled, whining and clicking, into its weapon form. Just above the automatic Slade's tear-drop shield slithered down, its soft humming slide finalising the transformation. "I knew this would come in handy one day, give me some training sir and I'll kill whoever you need." Truth be told Slade wasn't fond of killing, but he wasn't adverse to the idea.
Slade had hoped to leave this part of his mutation quiet for a little bit, but considering the guy knew his name, he most probably knew of the gun anyway. Also, Slade felt he had needed to reassure this man of his capabilities. He didn't expect this employer to consider any doubt or hesitation as a good trait. He would wait for mr Antonescu to inspect the weapon that Slade naturally bore before reassembling it into his hand.
On the subject of mr Antonescu, Slade was having no luck in working out his mood or motive. The guy could either hug him or hit him and Slade wouldn't be able to predict his actions. The guy was more unreadable than mr Banks and that was saying something!
The ball was in mr Antonescu's court, Slade just hoped that the employer would be satisfied with Slade's show of commitment.
Hunter watched patiently as Mr Ravenscroft deployed his natural weapon. He had managed to get some footage of the weapon in action. It seemed sufficient for whatever mission he might be sent on. When it became apparent that Mr Ravenscroft was holding it out for inspection Hunter nodded for him to retract it.
"Good, then all seems well." Hunter turned and headed over to one side. Ahead was an office which was going to be Mr Ravenscroft's. In fact, it even had his name already on it. "Unless you have any further questions I think you should get to work earning that six figure pay cheque." Hunter gave a slight smile to show he was being lighthearted.
ooc - you want to end this here? how do i go about getting the kabal symbol and changing my name colour? hee hee so excited
ic - Slade effortlessly reformed his hand in a flurry of sound and movement. He could have sworn he saw a smirk on mr Antonescu's face, Slade supposed this was the employer's way of comforting him... He looked over to the door that already held his name emblazoned for all to see. Slade frowned slightly, it was going to be weird with everybody knowing his name again...
He would have to explore the rest of this facility later, for now he wanted to play with the toys that mr Antonescu had so generously provided. He waved over to the other mechanics, task delegation was going to be an effort too considering Slade wanted to do it all! "I'll get right on it, sir." Slade grinned. He offered his hand one more time. "Thankyou for this opportunity, mr Antonescu."
As the other mechanics moved over for their new orders, Slade definitely felt that this was the right job for him...
Hunter watched as Mr Ravenscroft headed off to get to work. It seemed that he was more than willing to earn his pay. Money, some call it the route of all evil, for others it makes the world go round. For Hunter he knew when it could be used to motivate people into doing what he needed.
He turned and walked back into the main facility and went to oversee some other tasks.
