The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ethan pulled up outside a large mansion in a taxi cab, the yellow car came to a stop and Ethan opened the door and stepped out. The taxi driver rubbed his eyes when the inside of the cab got significantly darker, he reached down and popped the trunk. Ethan heard the trunk pop open and walked to the back, he pulled several bags from the trunk before slamming it shut and placing the bags on the ground. He then reached up and removed the large orange and yellow surf board from the roof and placing it on top of his lugage. Ethan pulled out his wallet and handed a twenty to the driver. The driver was a bit freaked out by the glowing boy and the second the money left Ethans hand he punched on the gas and peeled down the street.
Ethan frowned after the man, he had thought that reactions like that would stop when the registration dropped but apparently he was wrong. Ethan sighed heavily and picked up his bags tucking is board under his arm. As he got closer to the gate he could see the mansion better. It was really nice, like some that he had see back in LA but larger. He dropped a bag and hit a button on the intercom next to the gate. "Hello my name is Ethan Hopes, I'm looking to enroll here." He released the button and waited for a response.
(OOC: Do you mind if we set this several days after the Rebuild Thread? Let me know and I'll change it if need be.
If it weren't for the smell, and the danger of stepping in something slimy and unrecognizable, Neena might have considered Dumpster Diving an enjoyable way to pass her free time. People threw away the most interesting junk. Of course, most of the junk in the dumpster she currently raided had simply been relocated from the Mansion grounds, and had already been picked through for usefulness. No, this raid had simply become necessary because of the dark-skinned teacher's inability to keep hold of her cellphone while she worked.
Her legs stuck out of the top of the city-appointed dumpster, wriggling with her efforts to reach her phone. She'd just managed to extract the gadget from between a couch cushion and picture frame, when it began ringing. Connected with the intercom system, it was letting her know of a new arrival.
"Be right there," she announced to the voice on other end, and began to extract herself.
Several minutes later she approached the gates.
"Hi there! Sorry for the wait. We're in the middle of a remodel. How are ya?"
She grinned, either unaware or uncaring that her clothes and skin were powdered with drywall dust, and her hair was disheveled and sporting bits of trash as barrettes.

[[Thats cool with me makes things alot less confusing,]]
There was no responce at first, Ethan waited and started to get inpatcient. He looked around through the gate to see if he could see anyone when the voice came from the intercom, he was suprised and jumped, tripping over his bag. Luckily he flew straight up before he hit the ground, so he saved his fall. He then touched down and picked up his bag turning to see a woman walking down. Her clothes were covered in dust and it looked like she came straight off a construction site. Aparently they were remodeling which explained the dust.
"Oh don't worry about it," He waited for her to get closer, "Hi i'm Ethan." He said, his constant glow had lit the place around him. He figured it never took much to realize he was a mutant and what his powers were so introductions to other mutants were normally short. He made sure his glow hadn't gotten subconiously to bright and he wouldn't cause the person to have to cover her eyes like he had so many before.
"Nice to meetcha Ethan. Wow, you're a bright one!" Even with her special glasses, Neena had to reach up and shield her eyes. After a moment, she went ahead and just shut her eyes completely. It would be easier to look through her eyelids, and would give her an extra layer of protection.
"Sorry," she apologized and opened the newly replaced gates, allowing him access to the grounds. "Name's Neena. I'm one of the teachers." She wiped her dusty hand on her jeans before extending it. "So you're looking to enroll, eh? Well, let's see what we can do about that, then. This way!"
She paused just long enough to use her vision and see if he had any concealed weapons. She'd begun doing this to all new arrivals; once the new security systems were in place, the gate cameras would do it for her. She didn't say anything aloud, however, simply giving the impression she was looking him over curiously.
"So Ethan, I guess I don't need to ask if you're a mutant or not." She grinned. "That's a pretty bright power there. Can you go brighter? Or stop glowing all together?"
Ethan laughed as Neena spoke, "Yeah i get that alot," He joked. She then apologized and opened the gate, "It's alright." Ethan realized that he could have flown over the gate with ease, but that wouldn't have been right, obviously they didn't want random people strolling in off the street. She introduced herself and offered her hand, "Nice to meet you Neena." Ethan picked up his bags and his surf board and followed Neena up the path to the school.
Then Neena started asking about his powers, commenting about how he was obviously a mutant. "Yeah you can imagine what it must have been like the past couple of months with powers like mine." He chuckled, "I can get alot brighter, like looking into the sun with a pair of binoculars bright. But i can't tone it down so that i look normal, which really sucks." He frowned but it quickly transformed into a smile. "But it does have some perks." He started to float and flew ahead of Neena a bit, showing off his powers. "And i'm more agile too." He then touched down on the ground in front of her. "What can you do?"
"Yeah you can imagine what it must have been like the past couple of months with powers like mine."
"Yeah, not much fun, I bet."
"I can get alot brighter, like looking into the sun with a pair of binoculars bright. But i can't tone it down so that i look normal, which really sucks. But it does have some perks. And i'm more agile too."
When he started to hover and fly ahead, Neena nodded and smiled. "Niiiice."
He landed in front of her, and she walked around him and continued on toward the door, waving him to follow. "What can you do?"
"Me? I'm just a basic sight specialist, nothing fancy."
As they approached the door, with her vision in working order, she could see several of the students indoors washing down the walls, and giggling to themselves. Lifting her gaze ever so slightly, she discovered why.
"I'd show you my eyes, so you could see what I mean, but I'm a bit sensitive to sunlight." As she spoke she motioned him to stay behind where the door would open. "But suffice it to say, my eyes are closed right now, and I can still see you very clearly."
She smiled and opened the door, stepping away as she did. A bucket of water fell harmlessly where she would have stood a moment earlier, drenching the steps and floor.
"Watch out for the construction hazards, Ethan. There are a lot of them lately....." One eyebrow raised above the rim of her glasses, pointed in the wall-washers' direction. The youths applied themselves to their task with excessive vigor.
Neena made her way to a foyer table, pulled a New Resident folder out of the holder, and handed it to Ethan.
"Here ya go. I'll need you to fill this out for me, for our files. I'm not going to be too picky about the details, but I do need specifics here," she pointed to 'Age', "and here," and to the questions that read 'What is your mutation?' and 'Is it dangerous to you, or those around you?' "The files are confidential, so only the teachers will know. But we do have to know."
"You can mull over it a bit," she said, leaning against the wall, "and drop it off to me later. The office is down this hallway," she waved toward the proper hallway, "if you can't find me. Or my room is upstairs..... here." She flipped to the map at the back of the packet, and tapped at a circled room on the second floor. "If you can't find me just ask around. I'm all over the place."
She grinned easily, allowing him to take in all she had thrown at him.

Ethan frowned when the woman spoke of being sensitive to sunlight and feel back behind her so his glow wouldn't bug her so bad. As they were about to walk through the door and a bucket of water feel from the top of the door hitting the ground where the woman would have been standing. She wasn't kidding when she said she had advance sight, either that or she really knew the kids around here. He saw the kids start working much harder having been caught, Ethan laughed, it was going to be fun staying here.
Neena handed him a folder with a bunch of informaion that had to be filled out. Ethan grabbed a pen from his pocket and wrote his name age:18 and when it came down to the question that asked if his powers were dangerous to others he wrote down that he really didn't know. He tucked the folder under his arm for later. "So what do i do about getting a room, do i have to like room with someone? When do classes start?"
"So what do i do about getting a room, do i have to like room with someone? When do classes start?"
"Well, actually quarters are kind of tight right now, since most of the dorms aren't yet liveable. Sorry, 'bout that. But once everything is back to normal, it'll be up to you. The rooms are set up for two, so if you decide to, just let me know. If we get a sudden influx months down the road, I may ask ya t'share for a bit."
She smiled at him cheerfully. "No worries though, that'll be a while coming. Gotta fix up the place first. Hopefully, come autumn, classes will be on schedule again, too."
She motioned down the hall, toward the Library and undamaged classrooms. "Let me show you where the Temp rooms are for now." As they walked, she asked, "So where are ya from, Ethan? California? Hawaii? Ya know there's some killer surfs down on Long Island."

Ethan nodded as Neena spoke, "Yeah only thing is i'm afraid I might keep my roommate up." He held out his arms to point out his whole being, a 'you see' look on his face. "And trust me i can make the best out of unlivable conditions. I lived in the subway the past three months with a dog." He was going to love having a resonable place to live, an actual bed, dresser, and oh my god...a shower. I broken watermain inside a wrecks subway car was far from resonable. She said that classes would be starting up again soon so he guessed that everyone was just having some down time and working on the mansion.
Neena stared to walk down the hall and mentioned surfing. Ethan laughed, "I never heard of much surfing here in New York, up on the Cape maybe but not on long Island, i'll have to look into that." As they walked down the hall Ethan looked into rooms as they passed, some where clean and organized others looked like a semi ran through them. "So what the hell happened here?"
"Yeah only thing is i'm afraid I might keep my roommate up."
"Mmm.... Good point." Neena chuckled. "Well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it."
"And trust me i can make the best out of unlivable conditions. I lived in the subway the past three months with a dog. I never heard of much surfing here in New York, up on the Cape maybe but not on long Island, i'll have to look into that."
"Oh yeah, it's awesome! The waves don't get quite as high as North Shore, but it's definitely a decent second." She grinned at him. Surfing had been one of the many sports she'd tried as a teenager, when testing out her lack of adrenaline. She'd come out of it with a mild concussion and a broken leg, but decided she enjoyed it quite a bit.
"So what the hell happened here?"
Neena rolled her eyes. "The Stalker Robots happened. Apparently at the start of Registration, someone decided that a school of mutants was dangerous enough to warrant a raid. Things got a bit.... messy."
She shrugged, and smiled again. "Ah well, what's past is past. Time to start over."

Ethan nooded when she spoke about taking care of that problem when it came along. "Just thinking of others is all, would make life alot easier if I could shut this day skin off." He Shook his head at his own powers and the grief they caused him.
Neena spoke about surfing and a grin formed on his face, "Yeah I'm definatly going to check it out then. Maybe find some other surfers and make a trip out of it." He reminised about the huge trips he and his friends used to make of just a rumor of huge waves along the west coast. "I've had some run in with cops and stuff but never the Stalker- bots. I have to get out in the Sun or i could die, otherwise i would have been underground through the whole registration thing."
>>Ah well, what's past is past. Time to start over.
